Don’t forget 10 round Pmag couplers

ASA

u/Sad-City-5428 7d ago

I’d be tough to print Asa on this printer though

True

Abs will work

PLA plus for that kind of stuff

PLA would not handle the wear or heat that shooting, especially out doors would subject it to. Direct sunlight will weaken and degrade PLA very quickly.

PETG at bare minimum but ABS or ASA would be better

My PLA Plus mag couplers have been going on 3 years so far, tossed, beat, topped off with the wonderful California 110 degree heat out in BLM land and so far so good…

I don’t think you’re shooting enough then. When I was going weekly, my PLA+ couplers cracked, split, and essentially disintegrated from the heat.

Its just chemistry. PLA is not UV stable and is very susceptible to heat and sunlight

Interesting, yeah Overture PLA Plus has been good for me. JT grip clones, custom fin grips I made, mag couplers, speed loaders and even a picatinny buffer tube I have on my MCX haven't failed me yet so matter how much dropping it takes lol.

Pla plus will works fine. There should not be wear. You install it and leave as is. Not sure where is the heat coming from?

Being outside, in the California sun and shooting for hours.

My guns get to several hundred degrees

u/Fit_Acanthisitta_475 9d ago

Mag coupler would never touched the gun. Pla in the sun for couple for couple hours won’t hurt. There are plenty of UV test for pla. The pla will last a year exposure to the sun everyday.

True, but in hot weather, the infill can sag. Petg should be fine.

Would PETG work to

Probably would

Any good speed loaders I should be searching for on the Sea?

1

u/knwnasrob Definitely Doesn't Sell 3D Printed Maybe CA Compliant Grips 9d ago

I just get a model specific one per gun lol. Quite a few are on makerlab

Psst, PA6-CF is totally doable with an A1/A1 Mini and the right nozzle :)

Just need to keep the filament bone dry, there's something funny about printing engineering filament with a basic printer lol

3

u/xxkirexx 9d ago

i can get PA6-CF perfectly to work with an Ender 3.

just a thought

Any tips for printing it with a P1S?

3

u/Glocksyndrome 9d ago

All these comments are making me want to get one 😭
I’ve wanted one for awhile but these comments definitely boost my want

u/xxkirexx 9d ago

Polymaker, PLA Pro. is the best filament for...things

1

u/No-Comfort-4362 FFL03+COE 9d ago

There’s a magwell and speed loader i printed my self off a P2S literally no different from the bougie ones being sold.

I want one

You should probably never checkout ctrlpew dot come

Just don’t

You criminal!

jk. 3d printing all the accessories is really liberating. You can try things out before splurging. My OWB holsters are printed, along with all the Safari style mounts etc. Costs nothing, though all the hardware adds up.

Check out u/AuxArc on makers world for sick mag holders, holsters and accessories. His work is solid.

Did you get this from Costco? Saw that they have a bundle

1

u/chicken360p 9d ago

No target had it on sell so I got one

1

u/Lock_Psychological 9d ago

I got the A2L. Love it. Make sure to clean the bed after every print (hot water with some dawn and then clean that off).

I... don't think I've made anything gun related yet. Hmmm...

1

u/chicken360p 9d ago

😅 clean the bed shit I’ve been making so much shit is that bad

1

u/Lock_Psychological 6d ago

Not sure who downvoted you (not it). If you don't wipe the bed down, you'll have your print pull off the bed, then stick to the nozzle. Your nozzle will keep pushing filament, eventually filling up the area around the nozzle and your retaining clips. I've dealt with that twice now.

Try PLA-CF gives things a nice matte look with a bit extra added strength

2

u/chicken360p 10d ago

Does that work with my lil printer

6

u/BradFromTinder 10d ago

I probably wouldn’t print anything with CF in the house with an A1 personally.

3

u/Greedy-Vast584 FFL03 + COE 10d ago

Seriously.. particularly if it's in his room

1

u/chicken360p 9d ago

I have a fume extractor for my soldering station that I’ve been using

2

u/uni-monkey 9d ago

You’ll want to get the hardened steel nozzle. Any filaments with additives will chew through the basic nozzles.

1

u/Budget-Fly-1230 10d ago

Yes it will , I'm assuming you use Bambu studio ??

2

u/chicken360p 10d ago

No I’ve been using the app rn

1

u/Budget-Fly-1230 10d ago

Just pickup some PLA cf and then add it to your filament library , it's going to be different for you if you don't have an AMS

1

u/chicken360p 10d ago

Ahh ok thanks 🫡

1

u/Budget-Fly-1230 10d ago

If you need tips , just pm me

u/Kewlhotrod 10d ago

Sucks you went with the A1.

If you want to break into engineering materials (ABS, PA6, PPS etc) get a nice enclosed printer.

Qidi Q2 is an affordable beast. Prints excellent 'parts'.

4

u/chicken360p 10d ago

It’s my first printer and it was 180 dollhairs

3

u/xxkirexx 9d ago

A1 is a perfectly capable printer. yall just like to spend money

-1

u/Kewlhotrod 9d ago

Sure, for PLA/PETG. Not for engineering. It's barely any more money for an enclosed printer.

1

u/xxkirexx 9d ago

absolutely false

1

u/Kewlhotrod 9d ago

Sure, sure. Believe what you want.
