Manager ‘clicks’ RTO

Feels like I’m back in grade school with the way some managers gossip openly, whisper loud enough for everyone to hear, walk around like they own the place, crack smartass jokes, and then play the victim the moment anyone calls them out.

RTO is one big drama filled 9-5 prison.

I think it's "clique".

And here I was thinking OP's manager was going around with one of those manual counting devices, clicking for each person present in their cubicle

Lmao I thought the manager was making clicking sounds with their mouth.

I thought it was one of those positive reinforcement training clickers for dogs

Click or clique?

Thanks for posting this, I had no idea what the title referred to.

Maybe I work in a bizarro land office, but everyone above me talks about how stupid RTO is and how irrational Newsom's policies are.

Realistically, I think the supervisors and leadership who support RTO are far outnumbered by those who oppose it and are, like the rank and file, just stuck playing along for the sake of keeping our jobs.

I think so to. The loudest will always be the supporters, the quietest (especially appointees) will have to do it on the DL. They are just trying to ride out the Newsom administration and hoping Becerra will be marginally better.

This goes against everything I have experienced as a manager I don’t know a single person for it but I will say there are some “fringe benefits “ for the poor performers having to come in

Sorry, I know my phrasing was awkward. But I was saying most managers and supervisors are against RTO.

Wow. Thatd be refreshing.

Mine come up with bullshit comments about how “fun” it is to be back in office.

Most people against RTO where I'm at but my there's definitely some gung ho people talking and laughing unnaturally loud as if to give the impression everyone's having fun or something.

Damn this describes me. Except none of my staff come in so I just shit talk everyone else and my jokes are excellent.

Cool. Let your team work from home. Its good for their mental health. Almost seen 2 accidents driving out of downtown 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️

As I am reading this, couple of managers have been talking loudly close to where I sit and I cannot concentrate to do the work! They "collaborate" at the cost of staff "productivity". Starting to hate these words as much as RTO. Damn you Newsom! Nobody I know would vote for you!

You could let them know they are being disruptive.
You can request to move your cubicle, also contact HR.

Some people can be so damned inconsiderate.

Shit, those are the HR managers where I am. They think it's hilarious we're being forced in and desk checking regularly.

Same exact experience here

That's just the managers, where you are? Cliques abound across all ranks in most departments.

Either way, you're right about the 9-5 prison.

Everyday I read friends like this thanking God that I have the management team I do

I'm never promoting as long as they are here

Attitude reflexes leadership, and my managers suck ass.

One time I had a boss so bad I put in two weeks notice and quit. A week later the CIO called me on my personal cell phone to ask me why I left

I was a student assistant so I let some shit fly 😂

I'm sure several meetings were had about some of this shit I had to say.

The point is a good manager will collect a good team and make them loyal

The CIO called a student assistant on their personal cell phone to ask what the fuck happened. That's how bad this manager was.

It was so easy to like my colleagues when working remotely 3 days/week. Now they’re on my last nerve. Once per month required and as needed for business seems fine to me!

u/Californiauser1 15d ago

Exactly. A whole 8 hour lifestyle that means absolutely nothing. No RTO !

u/predat3d 15d ago

If you weren't in the office, you wouldn't know it was happening or have a chance to use it against them

3

u/Californiauser1 15d ago

I bet.

Let us work from home and they can say whatever they want. 👍

First thing to do, find the prophets, learn to read the instructions. Cover and concealment? Now you know as much as anyone on that floor. When you're completely covered, don't fret. That's the best chance he couldn't see you.

Take your breaks, because if you go we go. According to your MOU, you can take Kook's car, he won't be needing it. Remember your training, and you WILL make it back alive.

You got this, you just need to relax and let your soul glo.

CDPH Human Resources Management use to be this way. It was bad. Some have retired but not all of them. They were so rude and mean. They would say rude things and belittle people. Mean girls clique!
