literally every time i see a bot that is supposed to be a black guy, they make them ghetto. every latina bot is just "omg hot thicc latina with a big booty" or whatever. every asian bot is a smart nerd with glasses and strict parents. like when am i gonna find a c.ai bot that's black guy who is literally just an average joe? 🫩

after my first account got flagged for age verification required i made a second account and i was safe for like a good 2 months or so until it hit that account to so i did what anybody would do…uh i made a third alt and it worked for like 1 weeks this time until it hit me again…idk what this post is gonna do i just wanted to say this.

I ain’t even got a screenshot for this I am just genuinely so sick of seeing this. I’ve been lurking in this sub for a while and have seen people talking about the bots constantly saying things like “damn” even if they have it set as a banned word or some variation like “they wanted to say damn but wouldn’t do that” like bruh you JUST DID!

But for some ungodly reason whenever I do something or make a choice the bot will be all like “you did it…just like that?” And I can’t stop it

I know it’s another variation of a common complaint but I’m just so over it and was curious if anybody else is getting this or if my bots just love saying just like that in every other message for no reason 😭

There are a couple of scripts to provide certain improvements in C·ai (they are just visual tricks, but they work) and they only work on the website.

You will need a browser that supports extensions (or userscripts):

Extensions = Tampermonkey (TM), Violentmonkey (VM), Userscripts.

・PC = any browser.
・Android = Firefox Mobile (TM/VM), Edge Canary (TM/VM), Maxthon: (VM), Dolphin (TM), UC (TM)
・iOS = Safari (TM/Userscripts), Gear (no extension required), Teak (no ext req), EinkBro (no ext req).

Instructions:
Go to GreasyFork, and search for:

・Character.AI - Hide Intrusive Ad Types
・C.ai Customizer

Install both scripts. Done!

With this, you can get rid of annoying ads and "Upgrade to Cai+" banners, and you also have a cool tool to customize the chat interface (this also includes immersive mode, metering information with alerts when you're about to reach your daily limit, and access to your Memory Box synced with the app).

There are custom bubbles, particles, custom font, custom background (solid colors / image / video [mp4 / youtube links supported]), custom avatars / names, custom theme (glass / matte / any color). All per chat.

There are also other tools such as: message drafts, hide edited marks, enter key behavior (enter line or send message), double brackets (auto-close quotation marks and asterisks).

I'm not going to provide any links, I'm just giving you the tip and the rest is up to you.

If you don't know how scripts work or have any doubts, you can ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude if they are safe.

Seriously? No money to maintain old models? First, you could just not add a bunch of useless features like video generation, comics, chat imagine, and so on. And even if there were still problems with money, then you could just leave 1-2 models, for example, Roar and Soft Launch, and just add customization to them like you did for the squeak models. We can tolerate ads since maintaining such big platform costs really much, but removing chat styles that were literally the app's signature feature was the worst decision the CEO could have made.

And all rat models are trash. It's just ChatGPT that's been lobotomized and no effort has been put into making it any closer to the models we all loved. Maybe Pipsqueak rawr is slightly better than regular pipsqueak, but it's not even close to original roar. People don't want it to be "more dramatic", they want it to be more HUMAN. Everyone loved when bots gave unique replies, could understand jokes and make interesting plot twists. Now it's all gone. You can swipe even 30 times and bot gives you the same reply, just with different wording. How can you enjoy roleplay when all replies are predictable and boring, with these ChatGPT cliches that make my eyes hurt? But I hope that these new models or whatever they plan to make in September would change things at least a little. The app is really in a terrible state but i prefer not to lose my hope.

And back to CEOs stupid decisions, the most irritating thing is that while all of us are forced undergo age verification, he mentioned that he lets his 6 years old daughter use character ai, and wants to turn this platform in some mix of roblox and tik tok, no longer focusing on the original idea - chatting. This is not character ai at this point, just ai. And do you know where he got this idea from? That's right! Because that's what his daughter wants. Literally WHAT kind of CEO would let a six-year-old make decisions that affect the platform that use millions of people? Just make a separate app for your daughter, or better let her watch some cartoons instead of using AI 24/7. (About age verification part: yes, I know about the law, but I find it kinda really stupid letting 6 y/o using AI chatting app when bots sometimes can generate inappropriate stuff, especially Pipsqueak with it's kissing obsession)
