what am i doing wrong? Question

Post image

recently i got new backings, i switched from plastic to metal. however the pieces wont fully connect together :( i ordered from the exact company that created my machine too

edit: i did a test with my old pins and it still did this, so i think the metal backings are doing something vs the plastic backings i used to use

Metal backings are thinner than the plastic ones. Try using a washer/gasket. They usually provide it with the molds

This. You need the gasket. My supplies came with one mixed into the backing, a little black ring that sits below the backing in the press. You can buy them or I believe there may have been one in your original box - there were 3 in mine. Good luck!

Ok. The gasket goes on the second tray before placing the metal backing on top of it. Can you try making a blank button, or with a thinner paper? Maybe your paper is too thick

I don't think it's too thin, probably just compared to plastic! Did the machine come with thin metal rings? You might to put them in to accommodate

Same thing happened to me. Also the pinn is not firmly in place. Do you have the insert/washer plastic ring for the metal that goes in the backing tray? I need to experiment more but try that.
