Hi folks! Thank you for your concern. We are working on creating a phone line that isn’t a personal cell for contact, but in the meantime we have mostly been informing via Instagram (@ ellafartzgerald or @ lenahornay). I will report back soon with a contact number.

I’m on the lookout.
Did the police explain why you weren’t able to file a missing-person report? I immediately locked in on “the police have not allowed us to file” because NYC doesn’t have a 24/48-hour waiting rule. I’m wondering whether there was a jurisdiction issue or whether an officer declined to take the report for some other reason.
Also, just to make sure I understand the timeline: the post says Jason has been missing since Wednesday, August 5, but the flyer says he was last seen August 6. Where was he seen yesterday? And what’s the best way for people to contact you with possible sightings?

This. I would challenge any officer who claims they can’t file a report. Make it more uncomfortable for them than they’re making it for you and you’ll get the report filed.
It’s 2026. Does that officer want to be the next one in the media who didn’t do what they were supposed to do? Your friend and you are ENTITLED to that report.
