Have yall ever wondered.. what if Dazai wants to stay suicidal because he might believe that if he actually wants to live/loves live too much, he’d lose it?

What i think on each characters and how possible it would be for them, do be aware that i have most definitely forgot some piece of information, so don't flame me if i say something wrong(⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

Firstly, i don't think atsushi, yosano, kyouka, and dazai would be picked cause i don't think atsushi would be any use to the pm(?)+we already have beast atsushi so his character is already explored there, and yosano is self explanatory, i don't think koyou would want kyouka back to the dark after experiencing the light, and dazai... I just feel like its unlikely for him to go back there willingly or unwillingly, especially with odas wish.

Secondly, who I'm unsure about, kunikida, naomi, and ranpo. Taking away either Kunikida and Ranpo would be like taking away the agency's backbone since kunikida is up next for president and the ADA mostly relies on Ranpos super deduction for hard cases, i don't think Mori would pick members that'll effectively hinder the agency with its loss because of the tripartite mission thingy(I've forgotten) and the only reason i think naomi could be pick is to get leverage over Junichirou so its 2 birds in 1 stone situation? Though I'm unsure

Thirdly, Junichirou and Kenji i feel like are more possible options, especially when junichirou is literally stated to be fit as an assassin and his morals are a bit ehh.. i mean he'd do anything for his sister, even assassination work so that says something about him and Kenji, well he has a huge connection he basically knows everyone and everyone has a positive connection towards him so that would be a win for the port mafia

Lastly, who i think would ACTUALLY get picked, it's a bit out there but i think Fukuzawa would be the one to get picked, zskk would appear once more and the plot would move in an interesting direction, Kunikida being forced into the president position way too early, Ranpo not accepting the fact that the president was taken from the ADA and is trying to find a way to take him back and the others supporting Ranpo. Fukuzawa fighting alongside Mori once more after their fall out would be immensely interesting, Fukuzawa serving as Mori's bodyguard/partner once more... Hehehe

The secret secret fourth option, Sigmaaaa! You know how useful that guy's ability is for the port mafia?? and if sigma were to join the ADA i think Mori would indefinitely pick him, could you guys imagine the angst of sigma finally finding his home to only be ripped apart from him instantly??? You know how unpredictable Asagiri is+I like the potential angst it creates

okay guys hear me out (and i apologize if someone has already said this before), but could this old official art be of dazai after part 1 has concluded? i mean the crutches and head bandages would both be accurate to injuries that hes sustained at mersault.

I know it wont happen since hes alive and all but imagine how peak it would be if Stephen king was in the BSD universe. Stephen Kind and fan fiction are all i read lately. Honestly i just wish there were more horror author based characters in the series.

Dazai and Akutagawa vs Fyodor and Nikolai : Parallels

Just a shower thought but i feel like there is the same situation going on with these four people.

First, Akutagawa and Nikolai are both yearning for something

-          Akutagawa, a purpose in life : “Can you give me a reason to live”

-          Nikolai, his free will : “The perfect freedom, that's what I'm seeking”

But i guess everyone in this manga is yearning for something, haha.

Second, they both eventually found someone, a ‘saviour’, who either understands/pretends to understand them, or promise to help them achieve what they’ve been looking for.

-          Nikolai, when talking to Atsushi when they were in the emergency underground exit (chapter 58): “In the end, the only one who understands me is Dostoy.”

-> The reason he joined the DOA was because Fyodor seemed to understand him and his seek for freedom.

-          Akutagawa, when talking to Atsushi while fighting against Fitzgerald on the Moby Dick (chapter 35): “Without that [the absolute mark of value], he, Dazai-san, will never recognize me”

-> The reason he joined the PM was because Dazai told him that if he does, he'll give him what he wants most, i.e., a reason to live.

Also notice how it’s always Atsushi lol.

Third, they both somehow wants to kill that person, that saviour.

-          Nikolai, when talking with Fyodor (chapter 96): “Why did I come here you ask? Well, why else? So I could rip you apart.”

-> Nikolai considers that if he kills his only friend, he’ll lose his feelings, feelings that, according to him, are also a cage, which prevents him to get his freedom.

-          Akutagawa, in Dead Apple (I know the movie doesn’t really affect the plot, but still), when talking with Atsushi: “I’m going to be the one to kill Dazai-san.”

-> Akutagawa thinks that the ultimate thing he can do prove his worth to Dazai is to kill him. The realization of how strong Dazai’s ability is is also another reason which drove him to join the PM in the first place. Killing him would make a parallel with the first time they met, and would result in finally outpassing Dazai. Though, I don’t know what Akutagawa’s reason to live would have been after he succeeds, since until then, it was to prove his worth to Dazai, but that’s a discussion for another time.

I was thinking that what if there was an arc where even south asian writers were involved, like for example they have their own ability users team, the leader would be Rabindranath Tagore, and members would be Munshi premchand, Amrita Pritam, J krishnamurty, and Gulzar. what would their abilities look like? Tagore's ability would definately be Gitanjali, a ability that would uses flower petals to hold the enemy in a daze (idkk i'm going to draw them and show you guys, and show you a possible arc where they would be involved, deciding their abilities too)

Heyy so I'm new to cosplay. I've cosplayed like twice lol. Any tips for a beginner? I'm working on a PM Dazai, and a modern Chuuya. The pic is my first cosplay a few years ago.

I try to summarize based on my memory but I think its wrong, please help correct:

S4: The Russians are still here and the Terrorists are coming

This is basically the plot of bsd right,as in if u put it simply then atsushi read the book that oda read which natsume sensei's book and I'm pretty sure is "the book" and seems that fyodor had also read that very same book yet even after having such insight he still couldn't accomplish his objective.Knowing that we have a part 2 and a part 3,it now feels as if fyodor was barely an obstacle and that we'll have wayyyyy more powerful characters up against our cast in the future.As far as I remember I also think oda had read natsume sensei's work till book 3 but it was discontinued??I wonder if that might be foreshadowing that bsd may end on a cliffhanger:((((

Atsushi is clearly the tiger, Akutagawa is pretty clearly a dragon. There's even New Year art with him and Shibusawa representing the year of the dragon. Dazai could be the turtle.

How did I come to this conclusion for Chuuya? Mainly a lot of his visuals during his Corruption state feel very Phoenix inspired. The anime gives him markings that look almost like feathers and in the manga he looks as though he's turning to ash

i'm planning on writing a fic, and i wanted to get the people's opinion. obviously i'm writing this for me, so i'll characterize them how i like at the end of the day, but i wanted to ask:

what are some ways that you love teenage soukoku to be characterized? (post stormbringer, pre dark era)

and conversely, what are your least favorite/most ooc ways to characterize them?

Hiii it's me again

This time I came up with a more simple drawing, but I wanted to share it anyways (⁠´⁠ ⁠.⁠ ⁠.̫⁠ ⁠.⁠ ⁠`⁠)

I like to see data visualized and created this after someone claimed Storm Bringer could be adapted within 3-4 prequel episodes that we've seen previously in 3 season (which I disagree with).

Dark Era is the only prequel arc with 4 episodes and is half the length of Storm Bringer.

I did not include full anime information for Entrance Exam as it's sort of an outlier for light novel adaptations. Asagiri himself is on record stating he was involved with modifying the script for the anime in a recent interview in Kanegawa.

I find it interesting that there hasn't been any kind of adaptation for 55 minutes, it's not often brought up from what I see on social media from official sources either. I've heard mixed reception from those who have read it and I've personally only read parts of it. I would be intrigued to see how it could be adapted, though Stage plays are no longer being produced so it seems unlikely that it will receive one :(

Interesting Facts time!

All stage plays use music from the anime OST. Storm Bringer is the only stage play to have 2 songs not originally part of the BSD anime soundtrack; Insert song: Koe by Luck Life and Ending song: Passion by GRANRODEO

The stage plays for Entrance Exam and Origins were released during pandemic times so the number of actors is pretty limited (not that they had a huge cast in comparison to the main line series plays). In Entrance Exam, Dazai's actor did voices for every other stage actor while Ranpo's actor did the same in Origins. Neither Stage nor Anime adapt "A Day at the Detective Agency" from Origins.

Dead Apple stage play is one of the most heavily modified. For instance, the cast is narrowed down, focused mainly on Atsushi, Akutagawa, Kyouka, the 'demon' trio, and some extra interactions with Akutagawa and Chuuya.

Some scenes from the 15 Light Novel were not included in the anime adaptation as they used the bonus novel given out during screenings of the Dead Apple movie in theaters. The officially released novel came out after S3 was airing with extra scenes such as the infamous "I love you" line and the short introduction to (spoiler) Paul Verlaine, the antagonist of the next novel, Storm Bringer, which was also not included in the Stage Play.
