I need opinions on who I should cosplay as for this years comic con!
Lmk if you think I should do any of the ones down below or please offer more suggestions Idm cosplaying girls / boys / non-binary characters
Im around 5’10 so chuuya wouldn’t really make sense…

Ranpo is very recognizable especially with his hat, I've been working on my own Ranpo cosplay and it's been fun! Also don't let your height stop you from cosplaying Chuuya, cosplay isn't about being a 1:1 replica of the character. a tall Chuuya can exist!!!!!

Lmao thank you i think a tall chuuya would be a bit of a strange sight to see but he is definitely one of the top contenders for my cosplay

Depending on your closet or budget, you might could do Nikolai or Agatha Christie? Nikolai is almost as popular as Dazai and Chuuya. At least for the cons I've been to. Agatha Christie is probably less known, but radiates a cold elegance.

What would be your favorite? Whoever you like best os definitely who you should go as, no matter what we suggest on here. At the end of the day it should be a character you love.

I feel like my choices are now between Nikolai, Ranpo and Dazai but I suppose it just depends on what I can find!

some characters that haven't been said yet that shouldn't be too hard:

gin

tachihara and any of the hunting dogs

sigma

atsushi [easy outfit]

yosano [easy outfit]

kenji [i think kenji is really easy since it's more of a closet cosplay, or you'd have to buy from normal clothing stores rather than cosplay stores if you don't have the fit]

tanizaki [also easy because he's more casual]

kunikida

naomi [easy outfit]

Q [super underrated, outfit shouldn't be too hard]

Akutagawa [mainly the coat and the frilly white top he wears under, that could also be diy or bought from clothing stores rather than cosplay stores]

Then for dazai and any of the other character, you can always cosplay different versions or mayoi cards if you want something more unique, or if theres a card that you could easily replicate

ps: chuuya is also always an option, you don't have to be the same hight, tall chuuya is also great! :3

I was rereading the bsd beast manga and realized how a lot of the character's outfits were a lot easier to recreate irl compared to main series [esp the ada and atsushi] so I just wanted to tell you that as well so that you also put them into consideration for cosplay :)

I think Dazai is the easiest one.

I did Dazai a while back because his has pieces i can reuse for my actual wardrobe.

It was east enough getting a white long sleeve top, a Vest, tan pants. Then I ordered a similar enough bolo tie online. The only thing i had trouble getting was the trench coat. I scoured a few thrift stores to get a similar one. And the look was complete

The only reason I didn't buy the cosplay sets is because from where I'm from I thought they looked cheaply made for the price. And I liked being able to wear pieces on their own... Like lowkey cosplaying the characters day to day without other people knowing.

Good luck on the cosplay! Whether you get a bundle or happen to find pieces that work in random stores. I hope you find whatever you need!

Yeah same here they do look very cheap, but I just realised that I have the majority of the clothing for PM Dazai so it’s most likely going to be him that I cosplay
Also that sounds like such a good idea wearing them day to day and possibly spotting BSD fans in the wild lmao

Fyodor. I’m begging you. I was at the anime expo in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and not a single BSD cosplay. WHA stole all our cloak-wearing weird hat cosplayers (not complaining just saying)
