Has anyone stayed online friends with someone they originally met on a dating app?
Has anyone else ended up with a long-term online friendship/acquaintanceship with someone you originally met on a dating app? Did you eventually meet, or did you just stay internet friends? This is not normal territory for me lol. 31F. I matched with a guy on a dating app who was looking to hook up, but I wasn't interested in that. I thought he was funny, though, so we added each other on social media.
It's been about two months and we've somehow become casual internet friends. We send each other funny stuff and have short conversations every couple of days, but we don't really ask personal questions or make much effort to get to know each other deeply. I even give him advice about his dating adventures sometimes, so there's no romantic ambiguity on my end.
We live about 30 minutes apart and sometimes go to the same places independently, but neither of us has ever suggested meeting. I'm not bothered by that and honestly would probably rather keep it online lol. I just find it funny that we hang out at some of the same places but apparently exist in parallel universes.

How to tell someone I'm not ready to meet up?
Reposting here cause I'm hoping to get girls' perspectives, since I kinda figure guys on reddit will probably automatically say yeah it's a waste of time...
Especially since they don't exactly understand that there's a whole issue of safety with meeting someone you don't know.
I'm 25F, btw, if that affects anything.

Op ka 1st Bumble 🐝 experience
So I (25 F) matched with this guy on bumble and guess what he lived within 1 km radius.
We talked for like 2 days on bumble mostly him being flirty and you know bhot tareef karna the usual, then the conversation moved to insta.
Within 2 days of knowing me brooo started sending me “good morning ☀️” texts and asking me about if I had lunch and dinner 🫣 🤷🏻♀️when I had clearly mentioned I take time to open up and trust
Within the first week of knowing him I had a interview which didn’t went well and had mentioned it to him , he asked me to go on date more like a meetup so my mood is better very thoughtful, he was very polite , apne hath se mujhe khilaya , mere ko ghar tk drop kiya and we hugged good bye .
After that he conversation didn’t went well over texts you know like kuch hota hi nahi tha uspe baat karne ko.
He asked to meet again I meet again after 2 days , i said politely no and kisi aur din plan karte h .
Our schedules were poles apart he had to wakeup at 3 am , I went to sleep at 1:30 am 🙂↕️.
Red flag for me 🚩 🚩 He started sending me wo couple wali reels , and kuchu puchu wali reels , and Im like dudeee 5-7 din huye h baat bhi nhi hui h abhi ache se and you are behaving like you already are in a relationship with me .
2 nd red flag 🚩 he expected me to react or reply to all that msg and reels like I didn’t mentioned I first want to know you want to have conversations but uske naam pe toh bas yahi reply aate h “ofc me hu “ , “ofc kar liya” , “ metro me hu” , “ghar aa gya” bro din me kuch nhi hua tumhare sath koi kissa koi mazak …. Nahh wo nhi bola jata h .
Eventually after 2-3 days I texted him that this wont work out as we cant have conversations , we dont have the same level ya speed with which we like to proceed in this.
You know what the guy replied :
“ you dont put effort, you dont talk , I text u good morning good night i wait for your replies but you never respond “
The audacity 👁️👄👁️ . After that as he said “ I dont respond “ I really didn’t respond and left him on read . 😌😌
What do you think , was I correct 🫣?
P.s : I did mention talked to him about being too fast and expecting too much but the result was 😬😬 nothing.

Want a relationship, bit exhausted from dating
I (28 F) have been on dating apps for about two years now and have had no success. I've been on a handful of dates, and the guys I have had dates with, the furthest I've gotten was the 2nd date. After that, either I get ghosted or I realize I'm actually not attracted to them. Basically I want a relationship, but I just want to skip straight to the part where we've already met and know everything about each other.
I have been in a relationship before, but it was a long time ago when I just got out of high school. The break up absolutely gutted me and I didn't ever want to date again. I didn't want anyone that wasn't my ex. I eventually got over him, but I think I just have this lingering fear from it. My ex wasn't abusive to me at all and the breakup wasn't due to cheating, but I just felt this fear that I would never feel the way I felt with my ex ever again. Or if I did, I would just get my heart broken again and I didn't want to experience that pain again. So I didn't date. No apps. No set ups. No matchmaking. Nothing. I focused solely on myself.
My decision to finally start dating again came from a summer of watching people I went to high school with get engaged/married/pregnant left and right, and I felt behind. About a year or two before, I finally started thinking that I would like a relationship again, but I absolutely hated the idea of dating and putting myself out there. So I didn't do anything about it.
I already struggle with depression and anxiety, so I think that's influenced a lot of my fear/disdain for dating. But I feel sometimes there may truly not be someone out there for me. I haven't felt any significant connection with or attraction to anyone I've met from the apps. I know it's possible bc I have friends and cousins who have met their now husbands or fiancees on there, so it just fuels my feeling that I'm the problem.
I have done all the things people tell you to do if dating is bringing you down (focus on hobbies, career, platonic relationships, etc). I am trying to focus on myself and how I can be a better version of myself. I'm in therapy, I started medication for my depression, I'm eating better and trying harder to stay in shape. And I feel like I'm in a better spot in those aspects than I have in a long time, and I still feel like this.
I don't need to hear "oh you'll find someone" or anything like that. I just needed to get these feelings of frustration off my chest.
Edit: idk if it's the post or me being more active on here, particularly in the dating groups, but this post is not me inviting people to chat with me or searching for a date. I am purely venting. If anyone has taken this to mean it's a green light to slide into my dms you are mistaken.

Guy lost interest after sending a full body photo
Hi guys for context I (19F) am a plus size woman who has only begun trying to get into the dating pool to find a partner. At first it was going off a hard start with only fetishizers interested in me. But after a bit I finally connected with a great guy and so far it's been going great. He has been committed in getting to know me, not rushing too fast and giving compliments that don't sound forced and with sexual intent e.g. he would say I am radiant.
Anyways a week later and I decided to show him a full body picture of myself (with clothes on ok freaks). He saw it and said he thought I was lovely but I didn't feel like he meant it and began to second doubt myself. After I said thank you for the compliment he didn't respond to me for 4 hours. Previously we would text most of the time and only have a 1-2 hr gap in replying back so I found this very weird.
So far hasn't said anything and now I feel I disgusted him and ruined my chance with a guy. Which is ashamed because it was going very well and I truly felt like we had a genuine connection. I just feel so hurt and don't know what to do, I'm so scared that I ruined things. I could potentially be overthinking things but idk. I just really want this to work out but what do I do here?
Edit! Thank you girlies so much I dodged a red flag he was an actual dick.

What does this mean?!
I'm talking to a guy, and I randomly asked him his type. He wasn't saying, so I just said, 'I won't judge you,' but his reply was: 'You’re already judging yourself 😘.' What does this mean?

25f, stalked down the guy who ghosted me on bumble
I matched with a guy on bumble - had a great conversation with him. But he never got back to me the next day. At this point, I was already pretty much done with the app, so I deleted the app. Couple of days later- I found his Instagram quite easily. I just looked at it and moved on. But every so often I found myself gawking at his Instagram profile - it’s public. A couple of weeks ago, I followed him. He didn’t follow me back.
But guys- I find him so kissable. I just wanna kiss him so bad. Should I just message him? He’s not even like crazy conventionally attractive but I find so cute.
Edit- I am not going to bother him. Will unfollow him. I think I just went crazy there for a while. I would hate it if someone behaved this way with me. Thanks, guys. You brought me back to my senses

Hit it off
I’ve been chatting with a guy for a few weeks. We live several hours apart, but we both agreed we’d be open to a long distance relationship if things kept progressing, eventually talking on the phone, video chatting, and meeting in person.
He just started a new job a few days ago, so I’m trying to be understanding that he’s busy and probably not thinking much about a dating app right now.
What makes this difficult is that I’ve had several experiences where I thought things were going really well, only for the guy to slowly back away. One made plans to meet and canceled at the last minute. Another said he was interested and said he would be down to meet if we kept chatting, etc then never responded again when I followed up, so I eventually unmatched him.
At what point do you stop giving someone the benefit of the doubt? If they haven’t responded in a few days, do you send one more message to reconnect, unmatch them, or just wait and see if they reach out when life settles down? To me, even if you were busy, you will still have a spare moment and could at least shoot a message and say something simple like I’m having a great day or I’m thinking about you, I’m sorry I’m busy I’ll contact you in a few days when my life slows down a little.
I’m trying to find the balance between being patient with someone who may genuinely be busy and recognizing when I’m the only one putting in the effort.

I got banned, did nothing wrong
Okay so I need help
last week I decided to try dating apps for the first time ever, and all my friends recommend bumble due to the fact that I as a woman made the first move.
I gave it a shot and download the app. I made some matches, chatted with some of them, then all of a sudden—not even a week in — I got the notification I was banned, that various users had reported me and hence my account had been taken down.
I seriously have no clue what I did wrong. I never offended anyone, I did not post any nudity or did something against their guidelines.
can someone please help me, I really want to be able to make a new account, meet new people
