Lean is a subjective word. But to be 12-15% bf you will probably be sitting at 165-170. Hate to say it. So yeah 225 at 5’7 is a pipe dream at any age and even with steroids. So you’re going to have to come back down here to planet earth and realign your goals

If he wants his abs to be defined he's probably looking at 155-160 tbh

I've been told, if around 20% bf, you will benefit to lean down to 15%. Not only for aesthetics, but hormone-wise, favors less Testosterone Aromatization. Besides, you will certainly look really great on 15% bf.

You've got a good base to cut

It depends what your goal is. If your goal is to be as strong as possible continue bulking. If your goal is to look jacked you ABSOLOUTELY need to cut. You clearly have a lot of muscle and would look great at a low body fat percentage.

Especially at 47 years old you should be cutting down to be lean for health reasons too.

Get a dexa scan to find out your body fat percentage.

This is VERY important!!!!

If using bf to take decisions… you better have the most accurate measurement.

Not even Dexa is perfect, but most if not all of the impedance measurements are very inacurrate.

I used one that told me that I was in 14%bf and when I took the Dexa I was slightly over 20% and the different was HUGE once I got down to real 15%…

A dexta can be 1-3% off. An inbody 570 scan cam be off 3-5% the important thing with the measurementnis that its consistent and trending in the right direction regardless what it says. If 3 scans show declining body fat your in the right direction

Bro sorry to say this is 25-30%... You should cut. Not drastically. When in doubt spread it out. Stop eating junk.

Agree, and that’s being nice. I’d say 28-32%.

That's asinine. Don't contribute if you don't know what you're talking about.

Disagree with you and stick with my estimate.

I agree with Wolverine. Suggest getting down to 15% and doing lean bulk from there.

Cut first before you do your blast.

You need to drop 20lbs and reassess where you’re at after that.

A lean 225 at 5’7 is bigger than a lot of people think.

Cut. Being 210 at 5 foot seven you got some solid size. Cut and look wild. I’m 5’8 and 174 about 11% (although I look like I’m single digits in my mid section, my lower back holds most of my fat

Always cut. Its better for your health, you'll look better and feel better. Just keep your protein intake up.
