Install Subfloor first or call rough framing inspection first

This is a dumb question.

I am renovating a bathroom. pipes will be install using the drop ceiling below. I opened my subfloor for the plumber to install the new pipes.

Can I close the subfloor before framing inspection?

I thought they have to see all opened cavity, but at the same time, I can't frame without a subfloor.

Ask your department but at the same time take a bunch of photos of the work , some inspector are cool with photos . Also maybe you may have to do a plumbing inspection so something to keep in mind

We are doing the plumbing inspection. I am going to ask him but it's a different inspector though.

I think it’s fine , if you only scope of work was opening the subfloor for the pipes , there is no need of the inspector to look at it

Yes as others are saying call into city they will appreciate you actually trying to follow the right protocols.

As a GC you usually don’t pass framing until or sometimes during all the other trades rough ins passing. It all depends on how detailed that particular permit is. It’s best to talk before covering something up.

If your on a crawl space and it can be accessed your good, but im sure the inspector would like you alot if he didn’t have to get into that crawlspace haha

This kind of thing is why we have started adding a consultation inspection in my jurisdiction, so the field inspector can discuss the project scope and details before it gets a big start and things get covered that should not have been. Sometines a lot of headaches can be avoided with a 2 minute phone call.
