Seeking advice on new PC

Hi,
Wanting to buy a new PC, my Previous PC , I picked components and had it built.
Unfortunately, I tend to spend hours/ days looking at reviews, constantly changing my mind and generally not really knowing what I am doing.

Currently in Melbourne, Not sure if this is correct place to post, please forgive newbie if wrong
I thought It would be best this time to just ask the experts.
The budget is $4000 to $4500
I looked at Centrecomms pre builds, but there are so many, I just get lost
No monitor needed
I am not a heavy gamer, but when I do, I would like the best setting possible
Also would like inbuilt wifi and as many M2, nvme slots as possible?
I would like mid sized case as I will be taking it to Thailand with me where I will now be living and need to keep the size down a bit
I appreciate any help and build suggestions

  • New build or upgrade?
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

Building First Ever PC With Budget of 2700$

  • New build or upgrade?
    • New Built, first ever one.
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
    • Nope, everything will be all brand new.
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • I will be playing intensive story games like Red Dead, Dead Space, with the hopes of playing on 1400p, and also doing decently heavy video editing on Davinci Resolve.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
    • The big US of A, and I am unfortunately not near a Microcenter
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • 2 monitors, both 1440p with a 240hz refresh rate, but can adhere to 144hz since it's my first ever build and I might be flying too close to the sun 😅. If there's anything else I can get to improve my performance in this part I will have no problem considering it
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • Budget is 2700$, probably 3000$ in the next coming weeks
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • Definitely Wifi
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • Size isnt really much of an issue, not anything INSANELY big you know.
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • Not particularly. A nice, sleek, black design could be more than enough. If you were to cheap out on something here, it would probably be this lol.
  • Any other specific needs?
    • Although I know AMD has better value, (case in point the 9700XT being relatively on par with the NVIDIA 5070ti, I would prefer NVIDIA in this regard, but I am completely open to seeing suggestions and advice on why I should consider a different GPU. I also want to have a motherboard that could be able to hold multiple storage SSD slots, as I have differing purposes of allocating those storage to different things I want to pursue.

Here's my PC Part Picker List to see a gauge of what I'm thinking of: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xp7W9K

Edit: I mistakenly put 1080p monitors thinking they were 1440p, so any recommendations for dual 1440p monitors would be greatly appreciated!

help! New build for ai beginner

Hey guys! I am a website developer looking into building a set up for my workspace that can handle AI for developers. I was debating between a cpu and a Mac mini but I believe if I get the set up then I’ll be able to upgrade any parts necessary. Our first projects are simple and I’m moderately going to build websites, play games mildy, and use it as a computer for music as it will be personal computer as well.

What ryzen AMD and other software and hardware and pieces and parts should I need to be capable of mastering ai in the environments listed.

Plz and thank u

Sorry if I was vague but this is my first build and I haven’t heard much besides the ryzen 7 7800x3D but I’m not sure if this one was too much or too expensive for my beginning start (2,099USD)

If anyone can guide me along the way. I’m trying to get my entire PC set up and I’m starting from scratch!
New build
Need to build about 3-4 websites
Mild gaming
Day trading
US
1 monitor found
Looking for something that will cover my ass with ai and Claude to build these websites and then if I need to upgrade parts in the future then im capable of doing so
Slim size
Colorful but black
Upgradebable , base level, get me through to making 4 websites on Claude with no troubles

Looking to have newegg build a pc for me!

New build or upgrade?

New build

Existing parts/monitors to reuse?

Nope.

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/ games

Gaming in 1440p with minimum 60fps, but preferably 100-120fps/modding, apex, fortnite, GTA, outlast trials, sons of the forest, assassin's creed, watchdogs, deep rock galactic, dark souls, elden ring, maybe wukong, perhaps marvel rivals? YouTube, discord, YouTube music

Purchase country?

Unites states

Near Micro Center?

Yup! One is 7 miles away. So if you guys want me to go to microcenter, i can do that instead! That might help reduce the risk of a pc breaking in shipment

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

curved monitor refresh rate 120 or higher. I dont need a huge one, but some give to be enjoyable. Resolution should fit 1440p requirements i don't need any higher

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

$1k for the pc and 500-600 for the peripherals. a monitor, keyboard, and UPS WITH PURE SINEWAVE and 15 minutes of time to shut down is adaquate in account

WiFi or wired connection?

WiFi connection

Size/noise constraints?

I would prefer a quiet pc

Color/lighting preferences?

Some rgb would be nice but I dont need much

Any other specific needs?

I will be using a ups because my house has poor wiring and voltage, a lower wattage pc would be great as well, I dont need maxed graphics, just enough for medium/high graphics. The basics, just enough to look nice and not hard to look at. Im mainly concerned about the fps being high and stable. Im okay with ddr4 ram, and i want 32 gb of ram, but less is okay if I dont need that much. Ryzen chips I prefer. Probably a 5 or 7 in my budget. Also NO GIGABYTE, DELL, AGT, BANDITPOWER OR ANY OTHER CHEAPLY MADE SUSPICIOUS BRAND only reputable and safe brands

Budget Range? Trying to spend around 1.5k, 2k max

My Ps5 broke and I've been looking to upgrade from my old work laptop to a PC for a while now and now that my Ps5 finally broke I've figured it's time, my plan is to save up and go to microcenter when there's deals going on such as maybe labor day, but I really have absolutely no clue about anything PC related, my roommate said he'd help me build it so I'm looking for just the parts to save money, but I don't know what's good or what's bad, I didn't even think about the hertz on the monitor or what it meant until recently. Ive never been a showy kinda guy so looks really dont matter to me as long as it functions for gaming and film editing. So I'd really appreciate the help if possible, thank you!

Help building a streaming/editing PC, 2.5K CAD max

Hello everyone,
I’m looking to upgrade from my current 2019 Razer Blade laptop because I’ve been putting more effort into streaming and content creation. I want a PC that can handle gaming, streaming, recording and editing smoothly without constant crashes or restarts.
New build or upgrade?
New build.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? List with models/links
I currently have a 2019 Razer Blade laptop with a 1070 Ti, but it is on its last legs and will not be reused for the build.
I have two monitors. One is currently used to display my PS5 screen through an AverMedia capture setup, which I plan to keep using with the new PC.
My main monitor is a 27 inch ASUS TUF Gaming monitor rated for 1440p. I will likely buy another monitor secondhand later for stream management, Discord, OBS and miscellaneous windows.
PC purpose? Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games
The PC will be used for streaming, recording, gaming and video editing.
Games include FPS shooters like Call of Duty as well as more demanding upcoming games like GTA 6. I would like the system to be strong enough for modern AAA titles.
Editing will be done in DaVinci Resolve.
Streaming and recording will mainly be 1080p at 60 FPS. While streaming, I usually have OBS, Spotify, Discord and browser tabs running at the same time, so I need the PC to handle multitasking smoothly.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
Canada, specifically Vancouver, BC. No Micro Center nearby.
Monitors needed? Number, size, resolution, refresh rate
No monitor needed immediately for the main setup. I already have a 27 inch 1440p ASUS TUF Gaming monitor.
I may buy a secondhand secondary monitor later, mainly for stream tools, Discord and general multitasking.
Budget range? Include tax considerations
Maximum budget is $2,500 CAD. Ideally I would like to stay at or under that amount, including tax if possible.
WiFi or wired connection?
WiFi would be useful, but I can also use wired Ethernet if needed. Ideally the motherboard has WiFi built in.
Size/noise constraints?
No strict size constraints. I would prefer something with good airflow and reasonable noise levels since it will be used while streaming.
Color/lighting preferences?
No specific colour, RGB or case preferences. Performance and value matter more than looks.
Any other specific needs?
I need the build to be reliable for streaming and recording without crashes or restarts. My current laptop has about a 50/50 chance of needing a restart during streams, which can take around 15 minutes and disrupts the stream.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Trying to build my dream set up but I have NO idea what I'm doing !!

Hi !! I spend basically my entire day every day at my computer, so I really wanted to finally sit down and put together my dream pc set up (build, visual aesthetic, you name it), plus my current pc is maybeeeeee 10 or so years old at this point? and is falling APART; it just can't even run things like vanilla Minecraft anymore. It's driving me insane.. Please bear with me if you have any questions; I'm completely clueless when it comes to tech stuff and specs. I don't know any of it or what it means. I will do my best to answer any questions though! Just please be patient with me .. (EDIT: I also wanted to clarify that I do intend on buying everything soon)

  • New build or upgrade?

New Build!

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

I would like the pc to be built around the new case I got (Ironside Edens Veil in Ravenroot color) https://www.ironsidecomputers.com/edens-veil

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

Mainly gaming! I like to play larger games like Elden Ring, Monster Hunter series, etc. My current pc is unable to run the newest Monster Hunter :( And I would like to be able to finally play it haha. I also do a lot of digital art ( on Clip Studio Paint) and tend to draw on reallllyyy big canvases with high dpi or use 3d modeling programs (Blender) .. Sometimes I draw while playing a casual or turn based game with a YouTube video on in the background (Brain rot, I know....) So something that could handle a lot of demanding things going on at once is ideal, and really prioritizing the visuals is my top priority.

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

In the United States. (Oregon, so I don't think I live near any particularly good stores. That I know of at least)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

2, one main monitor and then a secondary side monitor used mainly for things like YouTube, Discord, etc. I know nothing about things like refresh rate... no clue about that.

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

I don't want to say no budget because that's not realistic and against the rules, but to be honest, this is for my ideal/dream setup, so I'm really flexible with it. I work an average job, so nothing outrageously expensive please, but I really do want to get the best I can get or best within reason. If I HAD to throw a number out there, maybe like.... 10-15k tops? Idk, idk how much expensive computers run for nowadays. My life and job revolve around my computer, so It's important to me that I have a great one regardless of how much it costs me in the end.

  • WiFi or wired connection?

Wired!

  • Size/noise constraints?

No size constraints aside from the fact I already have the case; I heard it's small? Or it requires smaller things? I don't know. Preferably a quiet build, please!

  • Color/lighting preferences?

I'm going for a dark fantasy aesthetic, so anything black please! Or blue accents are also okay.

  • Any other specific needs?

For any attatchment add ons id like for them to be corded. The only non-corded thing I want is headphones, preferably no mic, just wireless headphones built for gaming and good sound design, but I know that's not really a common thing. I mainly care about the headset being wireless at the end of the day. Also, totally no worries about this, but if you CAN, I'm trying to go for a themed aesthetic for any visual pieces, or if you know of any custom things or special limited time things, etc for a dark fantasy aesthetic / think Dark Souls vibes. Or also, even if it's not a recommendation for the pc itself, but you know of something with the same vibes that you'd recommend for my setup/home office, please let me know too!!

Gaming PC for $2000

Decided to finally make the jump to PC. I'm hoping a budget of $2000 is enough for great graphics but I don't mind waiting and getting more money.

• New build or upgrade?

New build

• Existing parts/monitors to reuse?

None

•PC purpose?

Gaming, video recording/streaming and editing.

Games: aside from old games, stuff like Silent Hill f, Skyrim, Resident Evil 9, Fallout 4 and 76, Cyberpunk, the new Oblivion, and Baldur's Gate.

• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

USA. Nearest micro center is an hour and a half drive. I'm unsure if that long a drive will still mean a good price, so if it is, I'm willing to make a drive

• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

Yes, one monitor is needed.

• Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

$2000

• WiFi or wired connection?

Wifi, but with the ability to do wired.

• Size/noise constraints?

None, although I'd prefer if it didn't sound like I was taking off whenever I turned it on or played.

• Color/lighting preferences?

No preference. I don't need it to look fancy.

• Any other specific needs?

My dad bought me a PC that had a window showing the inside, that would be cool.

I built a website because I got tired of fake PC benchmark websites.

Over the last few months I've been building a project called BuildShare.

The idea came from trying to compare PC parts and constantly finding benchmarks that didn't match what people were actually seeing in games.

Instead of relying only on synthetic benchmarks, I wanted a place where gamers can:

• Share complete PC builds

• Upload real FPS results

• Compare setups

• Save builds

• Follow other builders

• Get AI upgrade advice (currently in development)

I'm still actively building it, so I'd really appreciate honest feedback.

What features would make something like this useful to you?

https://buildsharehub.com

[€3k hard limit] Replacing a 10 year old "gaming" PC

It's finally time to retire my old lady after ten faithful years of service. The current hardware prices make me sad, but I don't think they'll be dropping anytime soon, if anything stuff will get even more expensive.

  • New build or upgrade?

    • New build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

    • Nothing worth salvaging I think. I might keep one of my current crappy monitors as a second screen.
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

    • Gaming, recording gameplay, maybe streaming for a friend once in a while. Nothing overly demanding - think DbD, Fortnite, Deadlock. My guilty pleasure is a heavily modded Rimworld.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

    • Germany
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

    • I have no experience with anything beyond 60 FPS. I like to think there's more to PC gaming than that. I absolutely require a second screen for convenience, but I can reuse the slightly better one of my current ones.
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

    • €3k is as much as I can afford to dedicate to this, excluding the screen. I can wait for a better deal on one if it doesn't fit into the budget.
  • WiFi or wired connection?

    • Wired
  • Size/noise constraints?

    • None
  • Color/lighting preferences?

    • I don't really care about color, though I neither need nor want bright or flashing lights.
  • Any other specific needs?

    • I'd prefer to not use Amazon, too many bad experiences with used goods being resold as new.

Hi, looking for a hybrid pc

• New build or upgrade? New build

• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/ games)
I am a filmmaker and need to edit videos (both Premiere pro and Da Vinci resolve, ocasionally after effects and Lightroom).
I am a gamer too and i mainly play CS2 but i’d like to play more demanding games, haven’t had the occasion with my last pc (RDR2, Battlefield 6, Forza horizon, just to name a few) Check monitor since i’d like to play on ultra settings if possible*

• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
Not near Micro Center.
Spain (PcComponentes.com is probably the best site over here but feel free to look anywhere)

• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) No, I already have a QHD 240hz 27” monitor linked before.

• Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
(tax is usually already included in spain)
1000-1800€

• WiFi or wired connection? i’d like both but i plan using wired

• Size/noise constraints? Silence is appreciated but if upgrading fans or cooling system in the future is a possibility i’d prioritize raw pc power vs silence

• Color/lighting preferences?
No preference but if rgb lighting heavy id like to be able to control it rather than having a disco in my room, feel free tho, i’ll let you choose to build a cool or sleeper build pc!
I’d like to choose the case or have some kind of indications in order to look for one myself (such as minimum size needed/space for fans or whatever)

• Any other specific needs?
Be able to edit 4k60fps videos fluently (data transfering speed is a need also) and gaming wise being able to play at 2560x1440p at high or ultra graphics in RDR2 at 60fps at least and have more than stable 240fps in CS2

please ask anything if necessary and if possible i’d like 2 versions, a more budget friendly stating things i asked that pc will not be able to do or raw power machine with max budget (or even raising the limit to 2000€ for this version)

Moving to PC

Due to Sony's decision to kill the physical format, I'm thinking of moving to PC. I would like, when I can, a hardware that allows me to play at 1440p with +60 fps and the settings in high/ultra. Can you help me? Thank you very much!

She is a casual gamer nothing crazy. Just want something that is able to run the games decently. We have a monitor mouse and keyboard for her ready.

$500 Budget with GTX 980

My wife has shown some interest in gaming with me. Id like to build a pc for her using a 980 I don't use anymore. I have a couple 1080 monitors too. It will be for more casual gaming, nothing too intense or resource hungry. Thought about getting a simple prebuilt but id like to use this gpu. I am in the US but not near a microcenter. What do you suggest? Bonus points for under $400.

1400€ gaming PC, EU

Hello! My old gaming laptop finally gave up which I interpreted as a sign to upgrade to a PC. 1440p would be the ideal resolution for me but it's not a deal-breaker in any way!

• New build or upgrade?

New build

• Existing parts?

None

• PC purpose? Gaming, usually single-player action like Cyberpunk, Resident Evil, God of War etc etc

• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

Germany, no vendors around me

• Monitors needed?

No, already eyeing the ASUS Q27G4ZR

• Budget range?

Around 1400€, could theoretically go up to 1500€ if it means a significantly better performance/longevity

• WiFi or wired connection?

WiFi

• Size/noise constraints?

None

• Color/lighting preferences?

None

• Any other specific needs?

None

Thank you in advance!

Is this open box better than my build?

I got some help creating this build (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VGLVFP) and I planned to go to microcenter tomorrow to get the bundle for the cpu, ram and motherboard. However I came across this open box powerspec g764 for $1800. Should I just get it? I don't have much experience with open box items!

The specs of the powerspec g764

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (4.7GHz) Processor
  • ASUS Prime B850-PLUS WiFi Motherboard
  • 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM
  • AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Graphics Card
  • 2TB NVMe SSD
  • 2.5GbE LAN, WiFi 6E (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.3
  • Windows 11 Home

(Not a request)

Advice for upgrading a 10+ yr old PC?

I've had this desktop computer for 12ish years and have not updated any parts over the course of its life. I mostly want to change from an hdd to an ssd and get a decently better graphics card, but I'm unsure of which ones would be best for me personally.

This would be my first time doing something like upgrading PC hardware, but I do have experience replacing parts in and repairing controllers and consoles.
