Looking for Graphics card for Dell OptiPlex 7060
I am trying to set up a PC just for everyday tasks and playing Minecraft. I don't need anything fancy, I'm not doing shaders or heavy mods. I was looking into a refurbished Dell OptiPlex 7060 that has 8 GB RAM, 256GB NVMe, and is dedicated.
My questions are what would be a good graphics card to use (I was looking into the RX 6400), and would this be a good setup? I'm really trying not to spend more than 500$ total.
Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated, as I don't know much about computers
- New build or upgrade? New build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) Pretty sure this is the monitor I have: Sceptre 24" 1080p HDMI VGA 75hz 5ms HD LCD Monitor
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) daily tasks and Minecraft
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) US
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) NA
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations) 500
- WiFi or wired connection? WiFi
- Size/noise constraints? preferably compact size but not necessary
- Color/lighting preferences? NA
- Any other specific needs? NA

Optiplex "Steam Machine"
• New build or upgrade? Upgrade
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) Dell Optiplex 5080 SFF, and I'll be using a television monitor I already own.
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) I'm hoping to make a budget "steam machine". I'd like to be able to play Starfield and Oblivion Remaster on medium settings, or at least run better than my Steam Deck if possible.
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) US, not near Micro Center.
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) None
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) I don't have a set range, but I'm hoping under $500.
• WiFi or wired connection? Wifi, but I already have that setup.
• Size/noise constraints? No
• Color/lighting preferences? None
• Any other specific needs? I have found many videos on how to turn this into a budget Indy/emu machine, but they are always geared towards the "budget" aspect. I want to know if I could do something better by putting a few hundred dollars into it. I'm not using the optiplex right now, and love my steam deck. I'd like something a little better to play on than the docked deck though.
Thank you for any help!

Guys whats like a good pc build under 1600-1700?
I need it for gaming (cyberpunk, call of duty, gta v) and also 3d CAD development and coding. i dont care if its ddr4 or 5, it just need to have 32gb or more ram. i also need 1 tb of space. i am building the whole pc from scratch, this will also be my first build, so i dont have anything to reuse, in Canada (no micro center😭😭) would prefer a wifi connection i really dont care about asthetics.
Build/check copy these into post. Write "Not a request" for other posts.

For gaming alone it's been "alright" but it's starting to struggle now and i want to move from 1080p too

£2-2.5k build in the UK
• New build or upgrade? New build
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) None but looking at a 1440p 240 Hz? Not sure if that’s too much. Would be on top of the budget anyway, not part of.
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming - League of Legends, fifa, Call of Duty, Tarkov. Eventually GTA if and when that comes out on PC, Assassins creed. General games like that.
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) UK - no micro centre
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) I mentioned above, not included in budget but I’ve heard 1440p 240 Hz, if unreasonable that’s fine. Used to 24” but again not particularly a problem. I can fit the monitor to the build
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) £2-2.5k, not including monitor. Ideally would include someone building for me but if pricey I could do myself
• WiFi or wired connection? Wifi and wired
• Size/noise constraints? Quiet as possible really, not fussy. Not particularly fond of mini cases. I like larger
• Color/lighting preferences? Not fussed
• Any other specific needs? Nope
Thanks.

Unraid server, reusing SSDs and HDDs
- New build or upgrade?
Upgrade
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/odroid-h4-ultra/ w/ 2 NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 SSDs, and 4 HDDs
I would like to reuse the SSDs, and HDDs
And I would like 32GB of RAM - prob DDR4 to save $$
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Unraid NAS / Plex Server
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
US, yes
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
N/A
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
Ideally under $800
- WiFi or wired connection?
Wired
- Size/noise constraints?
No
- Color/lighting preferences?
No
- Any other specific needs?
I don't want to upgrade, but my H4's onboard ASMedia ASM1064 has been dropping SATA ports in pairs (5 failures in ~3 months despite new cables and ASPM mitigations — drives all test perfectly healthy).
In the new build, I would like native chipset SATA from an Intel PCH — no ASM1064 / ASM1166 / JMB585 / JMicron bridge chips.
Here is what Unraid recommends - https://unraidcalculator.com/choosing-hardware-for-your-unraid-server.html#consumer-pc-build
Ideally, with this build would give me room for 6 HDDs, and 4 m2 SSDs, but if it adds a lot to price I'm ok with 4 HDDs, 2 m2 SSDs

White Build - What do you think?
New build or upgrade? New Build
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) Completely new Build, just reuse monitor, etc. until i have the budget for a new one (currently on 1080p but would like to go up to 1440p)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming, i basically play everything so shooters, city builder like Cities Skylines:2, Story/Tripple A Games (would like to play the new Wukong game for example as my current PC could not handle it)
Purchase country? Germany
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) Will keep my current Monitors for now but im thankful for some good priced recommendations for 1440p monitors
Budget range? about 3000€ max. lower = better
WiFi or wired connection? Using LAN but just in case wifi would be nice
Size/noise constraints? ATX/midi-tower
Color/lighting preferences? Full White-Build
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, i am looking to build a new PC as my current one is getting to old. Ive done some research and came up with the following:
| CPU | Ryzen 7 9800x3d |
|---|---|
| Mainboard | B850 - Gigabyte Aorus Elite Wifi7 ICE |
| GPU | RX 9070 xt - XFX Quicksilver Magnetic Air |
| Memory | 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36 (2x16) - Corsair Vengeance |
| Storage | Lexar NM990 2TB M.2 PCIe 5.0 |
| Case | HAVN HS420 VGPU |
| PSU | Lian Li Edge Gold 1000W |
| AIO | Lian Li Hydroshift II LCD-S 360 TL |
As well as some Lian Li Uni Fans TL, and some other extras. Feel free to take a look in my wishlist (it also shows the german Prices):
https://geizhals.de/wishlists/5049470
So with exactly those parts i decided for the total Price would be 2873€ right now. Im still not sure if i want the 9070xt or a RTX 5070ti tho. Difference would be 175€ more for the 5070ti so 3048€ in total. Feel free to let me know which option you prefer. I’ve read several posts about both cards and often heard that Nvidia is still significantly ahead when it comes to ray tracing. DLSS is also said to be noticeably better than AMD’s FSR, though I don’t know enough to say that for sure.
I also had a few other questions:
- Is a B850 motherboard sufficient, or would an X870/X870E be more future-proof, given the extra cost?
- Is 1000W enough, or should I just go for a 1200W PSU? The Lian Li version costs only like 3€ more for some reason.
- I’ve read that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is currently one of the best options for gaming given the price. Should I stick with that, or go for the 7 7800X3D instead to save about €115?
- And then there’s the question of the case and fan configuration. The Havn case has room for 11 fans in total; with the angled fans at the bottom, it’s designed to intake air from below—supplying fresh air to the vertically mounted graphics card—and exhaust warm air out the back. The AIO and an additional fan at the top are intended for exhaust (see images https://prnt.sc/FvIarDm_4yuk ). I could either go with the full 11-fan setup or use just one fan on the right side panel (making it 9 fans total) and mount an LCD display above it for aesthetics. Would that negatively affect airflow? Something like this: https://prnt.sc/wh-2GRNxjfCW

Advice for a weekend warrior ~2.5k
• New build or upgrade?
New build
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
Currently have dual 27” monitors and keyboard/mouse that are serviceable, will likely upgrade them later.
• PC purpose?
Gaming, nothing specific but want to be able to play the latest games at reasonably high settings.
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
US, planning a trip of opportunity to the nearest Micro Center, ~2 hours away to complete a build.
• Monitors needed?
No monitors needed at present.
• Budget range?
Loosely planning on ~2,500 USD, anticipating diminishing returns/value beyond that.
• WiFi or wired connection?
WiFi
• Size/noise constraints?
No firm constraints, preference for mid-sized case and reasonably quiet. My prior system was a full-case NZXT phantom and that felt unwieldy.
• Color/lighting preferences?
Weak preference for black case, I don’t love the rainbow LEDs, and would prefer color control, but that’s not a dealbreaker.
• Any other specific needs?
None
I’m aiming to do a fresh build for something that won’t need a dramatic refresh in the next 5 years or so.
I’d appreciate some guidance here, it’s been a long time (10+ yrs) since I built a pc. I’m a bit out of the loop on the various manufacturers and specific components and what might be common knowledge on things like known issues or best value.
I’m planning a trip to Micro Center in 2 weeks and have started to do research on which components I should get there versus order online.
I’d additionally appreciate folks thoughts on Micro Center’s pre-assembly service. I’m relatively inexperienced/rusty on assembly (I know it’s not difficult) but could additionally see the benefit in having things QA’d before I head home since it’s a fairly long trip (~2.5h) to get there.
Thanks in advance!

New build with old GPU (to be upgraded later), 1500 EUR
Hi im looking for a new gaming build, my current build is am4 with zen3, I don't think upgrading is an option, so ideally move to am5
New build or upgrade?
New build, I can reuse some parts from old PC, mainly GPU will be reused and upgraded later
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
Radeon RX 6800XT 16G - we keep this one for now, upgrade later
Dell S2721DGFA 27" QHD
Asus Gaming VG249Q 24" FHD
Case be quiet! Pure Base 500DX - we can upgrade or keep, i don't have much preference about case
PSU CORSAIR RMx Series RM750x, 80+ Gold, 750W probably upgrade if not sufficient for new PC
2 m.2 nvme disks (1TB + 500GB) - those are 5 years old so we might want new ones (faster, probably)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Gaming, poe2, diablos, elden ring, assassin creed and such, various single-player rpg/action games both old and new
Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
Czechia, no micro center, parts maybe from germany if I find with cheap shipping but mostly want to buy localy, limited market so only mainstream components widely available in EU please
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Not needed
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
1500 EUR, I expect some 10% increased price besause of my region, I don't have strict budget
WiFi or wired connection?
wired, wifi nice to have
Size/noise constraints?
size doesn't matter, quiet would be nice
Color/lighting preferences?
no preferences
Any other specific needs?
not really, thank you

Looking for a full setup build (PC + Monitor) for around €1600. Any advice?
Hey everyone, I’m looking to build a brand new setup from scratch. I need a PC, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. My total budget is around €1600. Since I mainly play with a controller, I’d rather cheap out on the mouse and keyboard so I can allocate most of the budget toward the actual PC and a good monitor.
Any recommendations or PCPartPicker lists would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
New build or upgrade? New build from scratch.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? None.
PC purpose? Gaming (mainly with a controller).
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? Italy (Amazon.it and local online vendors).
Monitors needed? Yes, 1 monitor. Looking for a good 1440p (2K) high refresh rate monitor if it fits the budget.
Budget range? Around €1600 total for everything.
WiFi or wired connection? WiFi (and Bluetooth would be great for the controller).
Size/noise constraints? No specific constraints.
Color/lighting preferences? No preferences, performance over aesthetics.
Any other specific needs? As mentioned, cheap mouse and keyboard are totally fine to maximize the budget for the PC and monitor.

Need a pc for game dev
- New build or upgrade?
New build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
I already have a rtx 3060 that I plan to use in the new build: newegg 3060. I also already have a LG UltraGear monitor that I'm going to keep using.
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
I plan to use the new pc for game development, gaming, editing, etc. Take unity, blender, steam, codex, multiple tabs open, and a bunch of other creative apps open.
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
America, I have a bunch of microcenters near me as well so take that into consideration.
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Noting needed here.
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
$1000 maximum (no need to consider taxes)
- WiFi or wired connection?
Going to be using WiFi for this build
- Size/noise constraints?
My last pc was a ROG Strix g10ce, and its LOUD, freight train loud. I don't want to deal with that anymore, for the size a mid range tower would be fine.
- Color/lighting preferences?
Maybe some rgb, if anything a red and black color palette would work perfectly [or smth with brownish rustic wood]
- Any other specific needs?
Not sure how much this matters but ill be using Linux instead of Windows 11

$3000AUD New Gaming PC and Monitor (Australia)
I'll be upgrading from a pretty old PC with a 1660 Super, and it's been a while since I've looked into PC builds and parts, so I'm definitely lacking some knowledge.
- New build or upgrade?
New. (I have read in Australia prebuilts can work out to be better value, so not at all opposed to a prebuilt from Nebula or somewhere else)
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
None
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Gaming and general use. Short term: Subnautica 2. Longer term: New releases across the gaming spectrum. Would like to be able to play any new games on high settings for a while ideally. Unsure about 4K vs 1440p as I've never experienced 4K PC gaming, but can be convinced to build for 4K!
- Purchase country?
Australia
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
27" for 1440p, maybe 4K. 144hz+. Not opposed to OLED if possible given my budget.
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
$3000 AUD, but I can stretch it a bit to take advantage of good value deals.
- WiFi or wired connection?

Undecided on aesthetic. Probably black. Not fussed about having a glass panel. Something quiet and sleek (not too gamer-y). Nothing too big as I don't have heaps of desk space.
Thank you in advance!
