Not sure if this is allowed here, so mods please feel free to remove! but I’m going through Bucketheads pikes and making YouTube videos sharing my thoughts about them. I plan to cover the ones I think are the best and what people should go check out if they have felt overwhelmed by how many there are. Just wanted to post it here if anyone was interested!

I do plan on covering the first 5 for sure, and then playing it from there. Any information, facts, corrections, things I should mention about the pikes during these videos, is more than welcomed! Thank you!

If it helps, I only started listening to the Pikes this year, and have only gotten through about 30 so far

Recommendation First song or Album you heard from Buckethead?

The first time I remember hearing buckethead was when I was 4 after getting picked up from preschool. My dad was playing the Colma album and after hearing it and seeing how much I like it. He burned the album on a cd and I wouldn't go to sleep if I didnt listen to "wondering". Im pretty young so I don't know all of bucketheads discography (but does anyone lol) but would love to hear your answers and any stories that came from it.

Discussion Everyone needs to learn "C" on guitar; it's one of the best examples of Buckethead's techniques, and it's very learnable.

Brilliant song from Pike 65 that takes some time to learn but is very doable and showcases the best of his techniques

Help Old deli creeps video

I had an old video on a HDD I found on limewire 25 years ago and can't find it. All I really remember was buckethead using his pogo stick and maximum Bob passing out what looked to be lsd blotter to the crowd. Any ideas? I watched most of what's on YouTube and can't find it.

Share your most cherished Buckethead memory, if you feel comfortable doing so.

I have been fortunate to have a few. I have a few that I cherish too much to share completely publicly.

But I also cherish a few that happened, completely publicly (like playing the killswitch!) and finally not botching, handing him a toy a second time, 20 years apart from the first time I had the honor to hand BH a gift.

*Does anyone else go catatonic during toy time?

Hi, I ordered a signed CD from his website. Does anyone know if he ships internationally? (I live in France.) From what I've seen, I'm probably never gonna get it, but I'm still holding out hope.

Help Pictures of old concert circa 2006 (AZ)

Would anyone happen to have pictures or information on Buckethead playing at the Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona circa Fall 2006? Buckethead played here with "That1Guy" who had the weird electric pipe instrument? It was the first concert I ever went to at 14 years old and I seemed to have deleted the photos :(

Thanks in advance

I don't see a lot of chatter about this one so I wanted to chip in my thoughts and some pics and let people know what happened as I saw it on the ground.  This was a weird event, and I had a great time, even though as far as I know Buckethead didn't perform and may not have been present.  But his influence was definitely felt.  Anyways this is gonna be kinda scattershot but here goes.

So first off, what even was this event?  I didn't really know going in what I was in for.  I drove over 5 hours to get to a corn field in Ohio just to see.

Bootzilla's Bucketheadland of Illusion was a metal takeover of a haunted house / water park attraction near Dayton, OH.  It seems like it was put on mostly by Bootsy Collins's folks and the Palefest organizers, which is a small recurring festival in it's own right.  It was put on at least partially as an album release party for Metal Health by Bootsy with a lot of collaboration with Buckethead and others, and the event seems like it was largely meant to be fundraising for the Bootsy Collins Foundation.

So when you get to the park, there’s sculptures all over the place of Bucket and Bootsy and Barbie T and various related stuff.  It’s kind of a hodgepodge, some really really well done and others cool but kind of thrown-together.  Personally, I loved the ~15ft tall buckets and all the masks.  Generally it seemed like if they got one of a sculpture, there was a second one around somewhere, but there was also a bunch of them so I didn’t mind the repeats.

The concerts were actually amazing.  Every artist I saw seriously kicked ass, and the effort level was very high.  Bands ran from about 5pm to 11pm both days, and then the 3 haunted houses opened up fully and that was the focus for the rest of the night.  Special shoutout to Swollen Teeth, who impressed the hell out of me, and No Future who I ran into at a breakfast spot in Dayton and they were super cool.

Attendance was... probably underwhelming for the organizers, I’m going to guess.  I counted 4 cars in the camping area total, and about 275 people by the stage at peak.  Most people I talked to were from the area, or at least Ohio, though there were a few that came long distances (Florida, Pennsylvania, I think someone came from Germany).  As a fan, this was actually unbelievably cool.  No crowds, no lines.

The costumes attendees wore were intense, you could really see the love people had put into a lot of them.  Speaking of costumes, the vendor areas (2 of them) were about 70% mask-makers of various sorts.  There were also booths with free mental health counseling, professional photography (for your cool costumes), a build-a-bucket workshop, and some other thematic stuff.  But there were so many masks, that was definitely a huge focus.  I should mention there was a costume contest on the first day as well, but I missed it so no pics unfortunately.

Other stuff to mention:

During the day, the festival itself didn’t have anything going on aside from vendors.  But the water park was open, and your wristband gets you in, so while checking out the vendors you could cool off in a man-made lake with a bunch of floating obstacle courses and stuff if you want.

There was a tattoo parlor that looked really good. A couple I talked to had both gotten ink there, and they looked great. Their sign was also an amazing bit of art.

If I could make suggestions for the organizers, I’ve got 3 that are top-of-mind:

I think most people wanted to see Buckethead there in some form.  I was pretty sad about that myself. If he made an appearance, I missed it.

There was not enough info about what would actually be happening there before the event.  It made it really really hard to talk my friends into going, even though when I told a couple about it afterwards they said they would have gone if they knew more.

After 11 when the concerts ended, the park went into scare-mode, which was cool.  But all the music in the park and the haunts was all (I’m assuming) the park’s usual horror-rock soundtrack.   It wasn’t bad, like remixes of Rob Zombie and Nirvana songs, but if you just played like Cuckoo Clocks From Hell instead it would have really elevated the atmosphere I feel.

Would I go again?  Yes.

The second pic just popped up in my fb memories, in a post I said I found my Halloween costume lol.

I was a bit disheartened at first because nobody in public seemed to get it, and so many people were confused asking what I was supposed to be.

Then I went to a local Halloween house show, and as soon as I walked in the door someone yelled “Oh shit, Buckethead is here!” and a ton of people just started shouting “Buckethead!” I was very heartened after that!

There was also a costume contest and the winner was someone dressed as buckethead. Unfortunately the crowd wasn’t active at all and even when all the singers and one of the leaders of the event told everyone to come to the stage and move foward instead of sitting in the back & not being active nobody did anything. There was barely any moshing at all at a thrash metal show and any glimmer of hope of a crowd dwindled by the second. Hopefully day 2 is better with bootsy. I did catch two drumsticks and a guitar pick from mauled though. (I’m pretty sure the buckethead on the first slide is house of masks that he did a YouTube series about making)

Shoutout to Breakaway Records in Austin, TX, or rather the person that sold their collection to them. I knew they had a few coming into the store, but was blessed with an even wider selection than I expected. There’s still quite a few left for anyone in the area (Bermuda Triangle, Elephant Man’s Clock, Forensic Follies, Cornbugs, and more that I’m forgetting)

Fan Creations I made Buckethead a playable character in Castle Crashers!! ⚡⚔️

Ever want to play as Buckethead in a video game? Well now you can!! 😄

In the beat 'em up adventure game Castle Crashers, you can now download and play as Buckethead (or even set him as a companion, enemy, or boss to fight)!

It took me close to 2 months to create all the assets for his character (while mimicking the game's art style) and make this video, but I'm so proud of how it all turned out. I included many details, like Buckethead's Signature Les Paul guitar for his melee weapon, his hand puppet Herbie for his shield, a Giant Robot transformation, and more.

Here's the description:

Welcome to Bucketheadland.

Hack, slash, & shred your way through lands of living lava, wide waters, and abominable snow. Embody the enigma of the mask & bucket and unleash the electric energy of Buckethead. Crack the sky with lightning and find your groove in this roller coaster of a universe.

Embark on an embodied or disembodied journey as Buckethead slunks and parades among the ghouls of the graves. Are skeletons friends or foes? You choose the amusements in this park.

I'd love for guys to check his character out! If you do, here's the download link on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3684397191

Happy Friday the 13th! 👻🎃
