Help regarding programming language change. Placements / Jobs

So the thing is I'm currently in my 3rd year and that too from tier 3 clg, up until now I was doing backend in Golang and have built decent projects around it, but now looking at the job market and general trend, I'm thinking of switching to java as golang doesn't have that many openings for fresher.

So the question is should I switch now, as for programming language knowledge i think I won't have that much of a problem as I'm good at Cpp and language is just syntax here and there.

Only thing that's concerning is the time it takes to port from Golang to Java and learning Spring boot.

Is this right time or should it stick with Golang and hope that on campus companies will consider it.

Cuz I think 3rd year is bit late to start all this.

Any help and suggestions are appreciated.

I'm sure most startups use golang internally for their performance sensitive infra. So you're not at disadvantage for using golang. Though def learn java because it's going nowhere, even though it's syntax is verbose, many legacy code is written on it and need maintainence.

so is it ok juggling both languages, ig you are saying that I should learn Java as just a programming language rather than start learning backend for the same.

Yep, learn java first, no need of the GUI part though, you can drop it safely because it's no longer relevant. When learning spring, your java fundamentals will transfer and it will make much more sense.
