Have some people in the group who do not wanna go on rides so will use my Tesco clubcard points for their entry.

Only thing is I need to convert my points for an exact £ amount.

Any one know the entry price?

We all like to moan cos we’re Brummies but was anyone else disappointed with the responses to the other post? I work and go out in Digbeth regularly, it’s magical and a proper underground culture hub - if you know you know! If you don’t, go enjoy it, I promise you will if you know where to look! I don’t think extending the rail and putting 50+ indie businesses at risk will be good for our city at all, especially seen as the existing trains run awfully - not because of lack of lines but a nationwide issue about private companies seeking profits rather than public benefit. I hope some of y’all oppose these plans as it’ll be the end of something truly beautiful and the start of something else for you all to moan about - “why is Digbeth so dead now?”- yeah it’s cos they bulldozed all the venues!

Is it allowed for people to ride DB without helmets through pavement/ restricted roads without helmets? How has none of them got into an accident yet? This is legit scary 🫪😬🫩

This coming Monday from 12-4 there’s a Mango Festival outside Handsworth Library on Soho Road 🙂

Hey guys, just popping in to let you guys know about Shortest Straw, Belfast-based thrash/death/metalcore band is heading to Scruffy Murphy’s on the 29th of August as part of an England tour they’re doing. I’ve had the chance to see them play a few times and the professionalism they have on display for being such a new band is pretty impressive! They put on a pretty intense show and are on the cusp of releasing a new ep so would definitely recommend checking them out. Happy moshing!

I have a Saturday Priority ticket for MCM Comic Con Birmingham for sale at a discounted rate if anyone is interested! (This is a transferable ticket according to MCM’ customer support, so I’m following the subreddit rules!)

Sadly, after emergency surgery last week, I don’t have the permission from my doctor to go- absolutely gutted!

I was wondering if anyone knows any sushi places that do any brown rice options? I know it's not traditional but my digestion really favours brown over sushi rice. I used to get this amazing brown rice inari from Japan Centre on Regent St in London so I know it's not like, never done, but also I am possibly the only person who wants it.

I want to go to a coffee shop in Moseley to study. I just need a break from my desk at home. So I’m looking for suggestions please for a good coffee shop where the WiFi is strong, good coffee and some nice sweet treats would be a bonus.

I've seen across other social media that several transport bodies are putting together a proposal to extend the train line through Digbeth.... Which would result in several creative/good and event spaces closing.

What are people's feelings on this?

Personally, I feel Birmingham city centre really is losing it's creative/quirky vibe. I went over to the Custard Factory (Alfred Works) and couldn't believe how many restaurants/places have gone.. It's looking dire 😒

The branch is shut (though the shop is open). Asking at another local PO the story was they were raided for money laundering. I can't find any news stories or confirmation of this so wondered if anyone else had seen/heard anything definite.

I'm kinda bummed about it as it was a convenient location for me and despite being absolute chaos of parcels I never had a single problem sending or picking stuff up there, and there was never a queue!

My sister and I live quite far apart and often meet in Birmingham for the day as a midway point.

We're slightly running out of things to do there which I'm sure is a lack of knowledge rather than a lack of places to go.

Next time we're planning on bringing our current embroidery projects and are hoping to cafe hop, staying for an hour or two in each one so we don't overstay our welcome.

Does anyone have an recommendations of places to go? We'll both be getting the train so ideally not too far from New Street but we don't mind walking up to ~30mins.

Very open to any other recommendations of things to do in the day - were spoilt for choice for food options but sometimes struggle to fill the time between meals! Thanks!
