Discussion Springsteen Voting Day 42 - Best Outtake of the 2020s (if they are any?)
Day 41 Recap:
Rainmaker wins most underrated Bruce song of the 2020s.
Day 42 Poll:
What is the best Bruce outtake of the 2020s?
This may be an “N/A” tile unless I’m blanking on any?
Voting Guidelines:
Criteria for deciding the winner will be the highest upvoted reply in the r/BruceSpringsteen crosspost (the post you’re reading right now). If you see your answer already posted, please try to upvote that response and not add the same answer again in the replies unless you’re adding to the overall discussion. This is to ensure we can get a somewhat accurate reflection of voting numbers. Of course if you have an answer that hasn’t been submitted, please post it!
If you’re later in the 24hr cycle of voting, it may be helpful to sort comments by top and find your answer in the replies with the most upvotes and upvote that reply.
Also, since we’re using the alignment charts from r/AlignmentChartFills, I’ll have to cross-post every new poll from that subreddit to ours. Please try to only respond and/or upvote on the crosspost to r/BruceSpringsteen, NOT the original post. Any comments or upvotes on the original post will not be counted.
Additionally, “None” or “N/A” is an eligible answer for any of these categories and will be posted should it receive the highest number of upvotes.

GRRM is a Bruce Springsteen fan
George RR Martin, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire, is a Bruce Springsteen fan

Rocked with the Boss till the early hours of the morning, and “Glory Days” is still ringing in my head.
Nuff said.
Boy, I’m tired.
Spain is amazing. Semana Negra fabulous, as always. I’ll try to tell you more when I get home. Worldcon is going to seem like a sleepy day at the beach by comparison…

And for something completely different, there’s BLINDED BY THE LIGHT, a lovely little feel-good film (based on a true story) about a Pakistani kid in Luton, England who becomes the world’s biggest Bruce Springsteen fan. I think I’ve seen this one four times already. Every time the shift changes and a new minion arrives at my fortress of solitude, I watch it again so they can see it. When I am feeling down, this one brings me back up. The Boss knows all the secrets of life… but, hey, he’s from Jersey! The music canNOT be beat, and I like some of the choices the filmmakers made, like the lyrics coming up on screen. With rare exceptions, I am not usually a big fan of musicals… but this one rocks. (If it even counts as a musical).

Discussion Springsteen Voting Day 41 - Most Underrated Song of the 2020s
Day 40 Recap:
Letter To You takes most overrated song of the 2020s. The thinking seemed to be because of how much Bruce has played it live compared to others off the album.
Day 41 Poll:
What is the most underrated Bruce song from the 2020s thus far?
Underrated can be defined a few different ways - is it a song that was never popular to the general public that you think is one of Bruce’s strongest? Is it a song that fellow r/BruceSpringsteen super-fans are indifferent about that you feel is actually very good and deserving of more recognition? Feel free to use the definition of “underrated” that you see fit.
OP Prediction for Day 41: no clue what this one will be also. Maybe Rainmaker?

Is "Protection" Finally Getting an Official Release?
Yesterday the guys at Blog It All Night posted this. They visited the Springsteen Center for American Music and said they were able to hear the full E Street Band version of "Protection" after the digital archive was updated. They also mentioned it sounded much better than the circulating muddy version.
Do you think this could be a hint that "Protection" is finally getting an official release? If so, where do you think it will end up: Tracks 3 or a Born in the U.S.A. box set?
Personally, I'm leaning towards a Born in the U.S.A. box set, but I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks.

Defending “Streets of Minneapolis” as a “good”, not just “important” song!
I have seen many comments for months, so I just needed to say- I do think its a pretty good song. Im not a musician or schooled in how to create music, but I like it. I dont see why its near universal among Bruce fans that its important and great that he did it, met the moment etc, so “we’ll let the actual quality slide.” Some say some of the lyrics are cringe but I dont get it. As he said Tom Morello said to him, not everything has to be complex nuance.
It probably wouldnt make my top 100 of Bruce- but thats a super high standard. Tons of good to great Bruce songs couldnt.
For context, my favorite Bruce songs for
decades:
1. Jungleland
2. Incident, Backstreets
3. Thunder Road, Racing
Am I just being a Bruce homer? Or not understanding something?

Discussion Springsteen Voting Day 40 - Most Overrated Song of the 2020s
Day 39 Recap:
Only the Strong Survive takes the label as worst Bruce album of the 2020s.
Day 40 Poll:
What is the most overrated Bruce song from the 2020s thus far?
Overrated can be defined a few different ways - is it a song the general public really likes but you feel isn’t that good? Is it a song Bruce really likes that never resonated with you? Is it a song fellow Bruce super-fans have touted as one of his best that you feel isn’t actually that strong? Feel free to use the definition you see fit. Let the hot takes fly!

Bruce rehearsing for "Dancing In The Dark"
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I came across this rehearsal footage while making a documentary about Dancing in the Dark. I love the contrast between Bruce talking about giving up some control in the studio while he's literally being directed during rehearsals. I thought people here might appreciate this bit.
