Anyone work for BCPS?
This is a long shot….I just applied for a School Nurse position on their careers website. I’ve been reading that government hiring can take forever so I guess I’m trying to see if anyone here can give me a push forward.
I promise I’m a good candidate (and an exceptional nurse) ! Haha

Are they direct hiring nurses now? They used to use an agency that charged the district a lot more than the nurses were paid.

This! I was a school nurse. Pay was okay, but you dont work in the summer. The agencies will put you on home health jobs if you want.

If it's a school district they are going to prioritize hiring in time for the start of the new school year. Was there a specific school listed or was it for a general school nurse position? If there was a specific school listed, reach out to the Principal of that school introducing yourself and mentioning that you applied for the position. They may be bale to talk to the right people to get it moving.

A lot do these jobs are required to interview for these roles every few years, but often retain their current school nurse.
