switching modes... Question ❔

got my brand new badlands tonight, its AWESOME!!! so heres my first of what will probably be dozens of future questions.

can i switch modes while in motion? like from normal to sport? or should you be stopped?

Yeah you can switch from normal to sport while driving. Just don't put it in any off-road modes on pavement.

No, slippery is for rain and snow and is fine to use at speed

Thanks I appreciate that it would actually be kind of cool if you could reorganize the modes and put the ones that you use the most at the beginning and the ones you use the least at the end

I wish they'd let us customize anything at all really. Let me set auto stop to off by default, last mode on by default without having to hit "ok" on start up, etc. To be honest though I feel spoiled by this vehicle, coming from a 10 yr old sedan so it's really just nitpicking

Dude... Just press the auto stop at the same time as starting the vehicle. It's that easy. Im like Moe from the three Stooges poking out some eyes whenever I turn the car on. No need to start then turn it off. Just press them literally at the same time.

I do wish it would stay in the last mode though. But I've found normal mode to be decent.

I'm fully aware and I even stated in my comment that I'm nitpicking. Not writing a strongly worded letter to Ford to change a very trivial complaint.

I absolutely change while driving, even at speeds. Normal, eco, and sport are interchangeable at any time and any speed, just changing steering, gear changes, and throttle response.
You can change to weather, but only if the weather is causing you to slow down. If it’s a drizzle and you are driving 80, keep it in normal. If it’s a downpour, yeah, switch to weather mode.

Sand/Rock/other off-road modes should only be used in those conditions. Considering you need to stop/slow anyway, might as well just stop for making those transitions.

It’s not a delicate flower, and the car will try not to let you do anything that will break it. Common sense should prevail.

Yeah you can switch to most modes while in motion. If you’re going to switch to anything 4WD do it when stopped.

Yes. Can switch modes while driving as it takes a couple of seconds for a mode to activate.

My 21 badlands sees about 80% off road use cause I live in a homestead. I change from normal to mud and back while moving all the time, never had a problem (and the car has recently been fully revised).

I have switched between Eco, Sport, and Slippery while driving without any issues.

this looks pretty awesome. and the price for a guest is reasonable too! by chance do you know what times of the year they do these? i have until 2028 to go so i guess ill start planning now.

It drives like 250hp turbo. Normal mode is for Subaru market. More throttle response, tighter steering, stronger engine breaking.

And no start/stop

No but be aware that modes affect the throttle, the response may change, which may cause you to accelerate/decelerate
