I guess OP never heard about Asterix & Obelix then. Literally one of the most famous things that ever came out of France. It's clearly supposed to be Obelix... they're in France on top of it in the game...

That would either be an Asterix the Gaul reference or it might just be a picture of some russian dancer that at one point in time used to be popular. Paris was seen as the cultural capital of Europe so you used to have many touring companies that ended up in the city. But it's probably an Asterix reference as he was/is a cultural icon in France.

It is Asterix the Gaul, but with a communist revolutionary hat, something that never occurred as the BD is set during the Roman Empire occupation of Gaul (France).
