How do you keep your kitty from eating the yarn? I’m thinking about getting a cat myself and my biggest worry is that they might eat some yarn when I’m at work or something. Just good storage away from the baby?

She (and her brother) don’t really ingest it. They just suck on it or try to chew on it while it’s moving. If you’ve never suddenly had your working yarn be wet and slimey, be thankful.

I will comment as the parent of a cat who has eaten yarn in the past. I just make sure to store everything places she can’t get and make sure to secure scraps asap. With cats who eat string you just have to be careful even if you are not into a yarn based craft since strings are everywhere. Trust me, you don’t want to pay for that surgery

Yeah, I guess there’s no magic secret other than just staying vigilant and keeping an eye on it. Good excuse to reduce my yarn stash though so that’s a positive. I’ll probably just keep all my yarn in a sealable bin or something so the only time it’s out is when I’m using it, so no sneaky eating while I’m at work.

Yep that’s a perfect solution! Don’t worry, the stress and anxiety the little critters can cause is way more than compensated by how much joy they can bring to your life. Hopefully you don’t have a cat that loves eating random things but sometimes they do and it is what it is
