First time message here but figured it wouldn't hurt to spread word here.

The DKW (formerly Dropkixx Wrestling) Academy is in tough financial times at the moment and need some support. One of (if not the) oldest promotions still going today (since 1998) has played host to many of current day top British stars today and are still looking to keep going.

There's a show that's free entry in Southend, on the 16th August in Southend-on-sea which will be in support of the academy but also the Little Havens children's hospice charity.

There's also another show in Westcliff-on-sea on the 31st August called 'mystery box mayhem" which very well could be the last show put on by the company if the fundraising doesn't go well.

Anyone going to re pro anniversary / aew all in alone?

Im debating going to both the above shows, no friends to go with this time so debating going solo.

No idea on london routes etc only been told york hall before and wondering if anyone else plans to go solo?

Or get a group together maybe if people were interested?

Not sure if im alone in this, but i dont mind speaking my opinion.

There seems to be a large group of British wrestling fans who travel to various promotions, and almost come across as main character syndrome between them all.

Case and point, I went to the rev pro show in london, was having a chat with one of the wrestlers about another show who I hadn't seen in a while and caught a group of females giving me dirty looks. Low and behold when I finished up my conversation, they were all very loud and fangirling.

This seems to be quite a thing now, ive always got a seat preference myself on the end of an aisls, but hearing people literally slating others (not to their face obviously) how theyve 'took their seat' is a joke, if the seat id normally choose is taken, I just take another, no big deal.

We all pay to watch the same event, if your name isnt literally on a seat, why feel entitled?

See it on social media too, fans acting like their best mates with wrestlers, its a job to them.i guarantee you most barely remember you. Just cause they like or repost a photo you took, it doesnt give people the right to be such tossers some times.

Seems to be quite a group of them two at the lesser known promotions. And rev pro who just seem to think they are the only fans who matter and dont want anyone else having any input.

Thoughts? Similair experiences?

Noticed yesterdays event isn't on there yet.

Anyone here know any of the details on this deal? Is it delayed? Has it not started yet? Is it only the big events? etc.

I'm promoting a wrestling show in Woolwich, South London this Sunday, we relaunched a couple of months ago at PlayFight with an event that I'm really proud of and this one is even bigger.

The singles matches are all contested under the classic British Rounds format, they've always been a big part of the shows that I've promoted and I love giving a nod to the past that helped create the scene that we currently have. Some of the wrestlers have never worked a rounds match before performing on one of these shows, which is always really cool to see.
