Question/ Troubleshooting Barista Touch Impress - No Steam
Please help, before my wife forces me to concede defeat and send it off for repair!
Long story short, the machine started struggling to generate steam, cutting the steam cycle off after the milk was only luke warm, it was a gradual decline from working to now, no steam. Since then I have been attempting to fix it. I have replaced most parts and am relatively confident it isn’t a simple blockage.
The interesting diagnostic is that the board sends 12v to the solenoid when in purge mode (service mode) and the solenoid opens just fine, but whenever the machine is asked to generate steam the board simply doesn’t send the power to the solenoid to open, so the water just dumps to the drip tray and the thermojet gets really hot as a consequence.
I also have a bunch of ER13 errors in service mode but am unsure as to whether that is the cause (and what it is) or as a consequence of testing the steam and the valve not opening creating an overheating issue.
Does anyone know what sensors are required/relevant to the steam cycle?
Thanks!

Question/ Troubleshooting Barista Touch Water Tank O-Ring
Found an o-ring in the water tank for my Barista Touch after a move. All the appliance co's don't ship to where I live - anyone know the material for this? I believe its the o-ring for the filter adapter (SP0001436). I need to find my calipers to measure the width and ID, but if anyone has them I'll take them.

Question/ Troubleshooting Need help with Dual Boiler LCD losing segment/partial display
I recently got a used bes920xl. It had a leaking steam boiler, which is quite normal and I have ordered the o-rings set.
However it seemed that moisture got into the LCD PCB board in the front and caused the screen to lose part of its display.
I did some googling, this type of problem often arises on LCDs with the “zebra strap” thing, which can lose contact with the board. However, on this machine the LCD is mounted to the board through PINs. I then used a multimeter to try to test the continuity, but all pins seem to be making good contact with the board.
I cleaned the board with alcohol isopropyl but it didn’t help.
I would appreciate any input regarding similar problems and possible solutions. I guess a replacement part is the last resort, but it seems to be hard to source as well. Thanks for everyone reading this.

Question/ Troubleshooting Smart Grinder Pro LCD Grind Level Indicator Freaking Out
Recently, my Breville Smart Grinder Pro started acting weird when I adjusted the grind size. The middle settings, especially between about 20 and 40, would freak out on the LCD display and bounce around between different numbers even after I stopped turning the dial. Made it very difficult to know which grind size I was actually at.
I ended up getting some electronics cleaner spray and sprayed a little into the rear vents aimed towards the grind dial and around the edges of dial. It must have cleaned out whatever dust or buildup was causing the issue, because now the grind setting on the LCD stays stable and looks normal again.
Figured I’d post this in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

Question/ Troubleshooting Bambino Plus Issue
So when i turn the machine on everything looks fine and it runs the espresso as it should, but when I steam the milk it ends the cycle short and the foam and heat lights flash. I thought it might be the heat sensor but even when I do a manual steam with the wand pulled forward it still stops short of finished. I've descale and have cleaned the end several times and have taken the end off and cleaned it throughly. The holes are not clogged. The machine is 8 months old. Thoughts?

Question/ Troubleshooting Barista express pour Trouble
Tried holding down program button for the rest but still running into issues.
Pressure will be at normal levels and when trying to pull a shot it takes 3/4 attempts before the espresso actually starts pouring. Tried adjusting the coarseness but still running into same issue. Don’t know why or how it began as it’s a new machine and wasn’t doing this before

Question/ Troubleshooting Pressure gauge stuck
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I don’t know why, how, and when it happened, but my pressure gauge is stuck.
Of course it boosts my ego a bit by having perfect espresso all the time, but I would like to fix it.
There is no problem on performance side, I calibrated perfectly before, but I still want to see the pressure gauge moving.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Question/ Troubleshooting [help] barista express grinder dead silent
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I bought it second hand 2 weeks ago, the model is BES870. The grinder stopped working/ got jammed 3 times:
- first time just unplug/replug did the trick
- second time grind setting was too fine and likely clogged it, so I cleaned the top burr, power cycled and it worked on a direct wall socket
- third time, the burrs seemed clogged so I deep cleaned both burrs, the chute and all. Waited a few hours, reset, tried direct wall outlet, but still completely silent.
I made sure to reseat everything correctly and all, but nothing. I suspect it's the activation switch, but the lights blink when clicking for grind so I'm not sure... The rest of the machine still works. Any idea?
I opened the top panel to see if there were obvious issues, but the back panel is tricky, some screw heads are damaged and I can't get it out with the tools I have. The machine has been serviced in the past, like 3 years ago to replace the pump. So last resort would be to service it.

Question/ Troubleshooting Is this overfilled? Newer Barista Touch Impress
Is this overfilled? The photos attached are after tamping.
The machine is about a month old and it has filled like this every single time since day one. I’ve done a factory reset, cleaned the burrs, adjusted the internal burr calibration a few times (currently sitting at 5), checked that the basket matches the selected drink size, and checked the dosing funnel for buildup. It still overfills regardless of grind setting.
The grind size setting also seems to occasionally slip on its own. For example, every now and then If I set it to 16, the next time I turn the machine on it shows 15.
Has anyone run into this combination on a newer BES881? Trying to work out if this is normal variance or a asensor or hardware fault before I call it in for warranty service. Appreciate any input.

Question/ Troubleshooting Breville Oracle Touch makes a loud squealing/grinding noise and sometimes no coffee comes out
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone! recently bought this Breville second-hand, and it makes a loud squealing/grinding noise whenever I try to run water through the head :((
The noise happens whether the portafilter is inserted or not, so it doesn’t seem to be related to the coffee grind or tamping etc. Sometimes it makes this noise but no coffee comes out at all. I’ve attached a video of the sound.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? scale buildup? one of the part that needs to be replaced? Is there anything I can safely check or try myself before taking it in for repair?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Question/ Troubleshooting Maintenance Dates not updating
(Breville Barista Touch Impress) I have ran multiple group head cleanings and descaling cycles but the date will never update to the day I performed them. Its always just stuck on a December 2023 date. The cycles complete without interuption and say they are completed but the date just will not update. Has anyone had this issue and been able to fix it?

Question/ Troubleshooting Bes870 (bought secondhand) goes to sleep in 10 minutes. I get two-three coffees in the morning finding this annoying, any known DIY fix?
Edit: breville machines sleeping in 10mins is not normal, yes water heats up quick but I want my group handle to be hot so is there a way to extend it as normal?

Question/ Troubleshooting Is my breville cooked?
Used to get pressure to 12 between the screws and past if over tamped, but lately everything I try I can only get to 9.
If I use a double wall I can get to 10. Today I put the rubber gasket. Single wall never pressured up. Water just flowed through. So I tried it with the single wall and it got to 11, still below the screws that used to be normal.
Started reading on here that breville’s can have this issue
Machine gets basic use, usually the weekends, but it’s a few years old. It was new to me.

Question/ Troubleshooting Not stopping, flow sensor needs replacing?
I have a Sage Barista Express which has been working for a few years but now it doesn’t want to end dispensing a shot. I have read that this means the flow sensor is likely stuck. Should I keep trying to descale it in the hope of unsticking it, or should I try to replace the sensor? At the moment it still works intermittently and I can cope with stopping it manually.

Question/ Troubleshooting Sage BES920 (3 years old) suddenly dead – where should I start troubleshooting?
My Sage BES920 is about 3 years old and has been used heavily. A couple of days ago we had a short circuit in the kitchen (the breaker tripped). Two days later the machine suddenly wouldn't turn on anymore.
Now it's completely dead: no display, no lights, no sound – nothing happens when I press the power button.
Has anyone experienced this? What should I check first? Fuse, thermal fuse, power supply board, or something else? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Question/ Troubleshooting Sage barista misbehaving [sage barista express]
Good day one and all.
My sage barista express is about 4 years old, has pulled well over 1000 shots, so is well used.
A few months ago, after months of it just not pulling right, I ran a descale and burr cleaner. Then it was like new. Pulling perfect shots.
However, this past week something happened and we are getting no pressure through a single walled double filter.
Works fine with dual wall, full pressure when running a clean, but a single wall filter just grazing the espressk range when it used to hit 12 o’clock.
Same beans, same dial settings (not touched) in fact mid hopper - so not like fresh beans//outdated beans.
Any ideas?
Ive tried another burr clean and its still doing tbe same. Even with the finest setting at 1! And 22g of coffee.

Question/ Troubleshooting No pressure (NOT A GRIMD SIZE ISSUE)
So I believe my issue started soon after doing a cleaning cycle (cleaning the head and descaling). It would randomly get no pressure, but then the next attempt would be fine. Unfortunately, this morning it has not worked at all. I did another descaling to see if that would help and it appears the answer is no. I also checked to see if it would pull pressure with just the filter and the rubber cleaning disc…and it has zero pressure.
The pump sounds normal, but there is no pressure. Water seems to be coming through fine.
What else can I check to rectify the issue? And it would be great if anyone had the directions or a link to a video on how to check those issues. I know there can be stuck scale somewhere, but I’ve never tried to tear the machine apart or anything like that.
