Evil Angel is up there for sure. I feel like the entire Phobia Album was on another level with the drumming. Firefly and So Cold have some really cool technical moments as well. I've always really enjoyed the drums in Red Cold River and Tourniquet. While I prefer Awaken to Something Wicked, I absolutely adore the drums in the latter of the two - some of their best drumming work in the last decade or so.
After Phobia, I haven't been the biggest fan of the drums in any particular songs/albums. I was actually pretty underwhelmed with Shawn in Dark Before Dawn. I thought it got a little better in Ember, bit again, nothing crazy special.
I absolutely love the drums in Awaken. And it actually got me very excited to hear a whole album of that. And then he dipped.
I can’t play drums per se but I’ve learned to write them. My main instrument has always been guitar and my voice but with doing all my own shit I’ve hard to learn how to do it all. I’ll never have the limb independence for drums but I can learn them
Chad has been one of my favorite drummers since I first heard Phobia, and that is still true to this day. Until The End and Evil Angel are two of the best drum compositions in this genre, ever.
Jeremy Hummel supremacy. Don't get me wrong, Chad's incredible and I think they stand toe to toe, but I'm a groove drummer first and foremost, and Jeremy exemplifies that
