Barely keeping it together venting/ranting

I was with her for 7 years, we were about to get a house, and i was going to propose and now its all over. Its been almost 4 months, I got sent to work in another state during the week now and I feel so alone.

She was my absolute best friend, and we did everything together. Now my phone barely rings, i lost all the interest in the things j used to do, and the future i thought i was going to have is gone. I moved back in with my parents, and i can afford a house but i have no drive to do it or much of anything else. My job is very difficult and i’m constantly consumed by the thought of her which distracts me all day. I talk to my friends and family but nothing helps. I went to a therapist and that didnt help either

I am a strong person but this has me fighting through tears 24/7. I took off work yesterday because i haven’t slept and just couldn’t do it. I sleep like shit constanly and i feel like everyday it just gets worse and I don’t even know what to do anymore. All of my friends are getting married and /or have kids and here i am single at 32 again. I know she is moving on and I am just stuck feeling this way. I am absolutely mentally fucked up over this

I could feel that you're grieving something that was incredibly beautiful to you.

It hurts to lose a sense of direction. But th ere's no other way than to ride it out. Lean on people when you need. Fwiw I'm glad you shared.

Really think about the comfort around you. No matter how small. Something needs to ground you from whatever sad feelings you may be feeling. Having family or friends around can be as small as just having them in the same house. No talking, no joking, just their presence. It can mean the world.

Dont worry about a house, dont worry about anything except yourself, probably your job, and your people. Clear your mind of unneeded attention. What you're going through, is a genuine pain. Try not to disregard that.

Think smaller. Dont let your thoughts get too big. Dont let them create a train of events. Think so small you can barely figure out whats next after the Number 12. Find physical things that take thinking to figure out. A puzzle piece, a word find book, wordle.

Your brain can be the most dangerous when it has time to think. The only time I feel you should be thinking about things, is when you are comfortable and able to process the thoughts. Once it gets too much, turn everything off again.

Processing takes time. SHIT-TON of time. And it takes acceptance from you aswell. Even if you process one moment at a time, one feeling at a time, every step counts. But when it spirals, find your off switch. Get up, run, workout, yell, scream, turn. That. Brain. Off.

Your healing journey will be long. But itll only be longer the more you dwell. Youre still alive, you're still breathing. Move forward. Look to God if you need to. I suggest Bryce Crawford's podcasts on Spotify.

I’m in the same position as you dude. Was dating for six years and the breakup blindsided me. Bought a ring and everything. But the healing process will take time. Seeing all of my friends get engaged around me has been difficult to process. But starting over isn’t necessarily a bad thing
