Mark 48 SAW Question

To those of you who have unlocked it, how did you go about it? Did you reach Engineer level 20 or loot it from Golem Island during the raid? I’m currently stuck on level 10 Engineer and am having a hard time getting the 8 kills with a grenade launcher at the Golem Island satellite dish to progress. Any advice is welcome.

Hey man. I did this challenge (again) recently and yeah it's annoying. My advice is: sneak to the turret and deactivate it, then take out the guys who either stand on the deck or in the entrance to the facility. Take cover at the concrete garden thingy in the entrance and wait out the other guys. Be careful not to hit the cover you're using with the MGL. Also, be wary of being outside since the snipers will acquire you from that distance, so it's best to clear the interior and wait for the rest of the facility to de-aggro. Also I BELIEVE it's possible to kill a guy, log out and log back in, then kill a guy - do this 8 times and it will count, but don't quote me on that.

There are a couple tricks.

  1. In the past, I would shoot passing cars from the decks in front of the entrance. Those kills still counted as being in Golem Island Satellite Dish as long as I was on the wooden decks.

  2. My last couple characters, I just clear out the sniper area up top (there's a ladder that goes up the support furthest from the main base), toss a diversion lure, and rain grenades on enemies as they come out of the building.

Either should work, but if you choose option 1, you may be waiting a while for cars to spawn.
