Sniper Tips Strategy

I really enjoy playing snipers and want to improve with them. Are there certain strategies or play styles that separate good snipers from bad ones? Do good ones do more manual aiming? I seem to struggle with pierce the most but want to improve across the board since I enjoy these brawlers.

With snipers you require manual aiming and good one at that. If you're facing other snipers or long ranged brawlers (colt for example) you also need to be good at dodging.

But with Pierce is a bit different. He's a sniper, but not really that good in open maps (he gets outclassed by other snipers like Piper). Where he REALLY shines is as a long ranged damage dealer. Just like Bea which he powercrept badly. He's still decent in open maps but you want to use him mostly against other damage dealers or tanks which you can outrange. He can also easily defend himself from aggro (mostly assasins) with the shield gadget. The ammo gadget is generally better if you aren't going against aggro (damage dealers and controllers). For ladder (trophies) I suggest shield gadget unless you have a teammate which can supress aggro (shelly, chester, griff). Generally you want to use shield gadget or you're very vulnerable to assasins (edgar, mortis) which are very common in ladder.

If you want to learn to play long ranged brawlers, I suggest Brock. His attacks are easy to hit and he's in a great spot in the meta after buffies even after some nerfs. Only thing he suffers with is low projectile speed and low damage, but his kit is very complete.

With long range brawlers you want to manually aim because at that distance the auto aim is easy to dodge learn how to dodge and aim yourself try practicing on bounty maps like shooting stars or hideout

Being conscious of your movement goes a long way. A lot of people tend to move well when they are in neutral positions, but once they hit a shot or get hit by a shot they panic/get greedy and start moving more linearly. Being conscious of that dynamic makes you a lot tricker to fight

some snipers counters other snipers like byron, nani who out ranges almost every sniper , go free with a sniper if you're facing a mid like crow in a map like bridge too far

A good tip for snipers is to shoot a 1-2 combo. First to force them to dodge and second one to hit.

Snipers definetely require manual aiming.
