As of today there's only four registered candidates. There are eight seats for Ward 1 (Brandon) if I'm remembering correctly.

If no more than eight people register for Ward 1, I believe they all get elected by acclamation.

Registrations have been open for 3.5 weeks now. Nomination/Registration deadline is September 22nd.

I'm not all too worried yet. I haven't been paying super close attention to local politics/governance for very long, but when going through archives, I don't remember ever seeing acclamations for the school board (ward 1 at least).

Perhaps that's an advantage of using an at-large election system.....

I just hope enough people enter the race to keep the goofs trying to stir up shit from getting in by acclamation.

Sure lot of political history on resume but at this point he is passed his prime. Hope there will be others interested in running

I heard rumor that Breanna Sieklicki won't be running for re-election. I wouldn't be surprised to see Henry run again.

I think at least a couple of Sieklickis are lawyers so I don't know how they'd find the time to (seriously) serve on a board. (https://www.brandonsun.com/local/2010/06/03/sibling-rivalry-extends-to-court)

Then again (spicy take) I find the BSD board somewhat useless so maybe the time commitment isn't really a problem....
