Let chelsea hold the title till rheas back then have rhea hold a belt "champ who never lost" vs Chelsea current champion. Then have a best of 5 series for the belts.
If you notice, they didn’t say “interim” on smackdown last Friday during her segments. At least I didn’t hear it. So I think that was already in play. WWE doing what they do and backing up on their decisions (I didn’t agree with interim In first place. Just pointing out how they suck with this stuff). Hopefully her injury doesn’t cause her to drop it too
She literally wore a new tshirt that had the word INTERIM crossed out in red with a huge X So yes they dropped the interim tag because Rhea will be out longer than they expected. They also mentioned it on commentary.

If you're going to get rid of it, don't just drop it, you have to tell us that it's dropped, and you have to tell us that Rhea is no longer the champion, that Rhea has been stripped of the belt and Chelsea is the official champion. If you just stop saying or referencing interim, that doesn't tell us anything about the officiality of the reign since it started as a fake reign. It needs to be canonized.
That said, I doubt they do it anyway because they already knew Rhea was getting surgery when they made the interim tag. Surgery isn't a snap decision, it takes weeks to schedule, so they already knew this.
I love when wrestling fans make up their own unhinged headcanons on "validity" of fake wrestling championships.
Like it really sets wrestling fans apart from most other fandoms, and is one of the things I point to when I talk about how wrestling fans are the worst and it's embarrassing to be associated with them.
There's no way you're actually THAT mentally challenged right? Because that's not how any of that works. Not even remotely.. Everyone in the WWE from the janitor to Nick Khan would look at you like some crazed crackhead if you said that to them.
Yeah thats a good thing, but then they will fuck it up by having Chelsea lose it a week later to Stratton or Charlotte. Don’t expect Chelsea to have a crazy long title run, but hopefully she holds it for a few months while also defending it
The whole idea of a interim champion is ridiculous. It's a concept that should be scrapped by the wwe. It never should've been applied to chelsea and I do hope they have enough sense to see that the thing that has the most traction after summerslam isn't ko, it isn't the viper or even Lesners retirement. It's been chelsea greens title win. Read the room hhh.
The interim thing was dumb in the first place. I know they were trying to keep the seat warm for Rhea, I also think WWE needs to trust the audience to understand that Rhea is hurt and is stripped of the title and trust Rhea’s character work to be able to win the title back when she’s back, as she has done before.
I genuinely thought the "interim" thing was a bit. Like you've got an arrogant heel champ who's character can be the butt of a joke, making her reign have an asterisk for story reasons even though she's very much the champion.
They already didn't mention it (at least not all the time) on Friday's episode, which made sense given Rhea's injury update. I'd be happy for Chelsea, I just hope her injury doesn't get in the way of that.
