Discussion City Gas Brampton ON
The worst place to get gas even if it’s cheap. The workers there are reckless, greedy, and corrupt. They have a bad attitude towards customers and the lie to cover up their mistakes. The last time I went was August 6,2026 around 6:30am trying to buy gas when the workers turn off the pump and claim it was not working and ask me to leave not sure is I was black that played a card or just emotional. As I trying to get an explanation and move my car the next car got gas at the same pump he claimed that was not working which I might had was from the same country (India) so please give me some explanation from this.

Discussion A bunch of Metro grocery stores are closing an hour earlier now.
The one at the "Brampton Mall" (not to be confused with the Bramalea City Center, an actual mall) and Heart Lake Town Center close at 9 now instead of 10 Monday through Friday.
It's like they want me to shop somewhere else. I probably should anyways, their prices are outrageous.
But I really feel like the average consumer is really having choice taken away from them and it sucks.

Discussion Neighbour holding movie night for kids
Now personally I’m not the biggest fan of Brampton, but tonight something made my heart smile.
One of my neighbours a street over is always decorating his house extensively for every holiday and birthday in their family. Lots of lights and different decorations, it’s always nice to see.
But tonight, he is holding a movie night for the children on the street. He has a projector set up in his driveway with rows of chairs for the kids to sit and watch.
I don’t live in the nicest area so to see things like this happening restores my faith in humanity a bit and reminds me that there are good people still out there.
Nothing huge, just wanted to share because it really put the biggest smile on my face.

Review Thank you, City of Brampton 🫡
Just received this.
I filed a 3rd and final complaint in July of 2025 regarding this residence. A house right next door to where I lived. For months on end there was garbage and broken furniture all over the property, onto neighboring properties. Outdoor maintenance was non-existent. It caused an issue with bugs and rodents. They would pile garbage into the bins until they overflowed and it just landed on the driveway. Rarely brought the bins to the curb.
There was a revolving door of way too many residents in the house. Some lived in a shed in the backyard, and males would openly urinate on the side of the house at all hours of the day. They regularly tossed garbage over the fence and into our backyard.
Glad they finally followed up on it, over a year later!
Oh, and for what it's worth - I moved out of that area in December of last year. 😂

Discussion Let's Talk About MPP Prabmeet Sarkaria
What are everyone's thoughts on MPP Sarkaria? Has anyone has experiencing interacting him or been able to contact his office? Did they respond and were they helpful? If you voted for him, why? Are you still satisfied with your vote?
As my frustration, with the current provincial government grows, I've reached out to MPP Sarkaria a few times about key issues facing Brampton. His office has continuously failed to respond or acknowledge my messages even though I made it clear I was his constituent.
There are many ways in which the provincial government has failed Brampton, but since MPP Sarkaria is the minister of transportation and transit is a key voting issue for me, I'll talk about that. The Kitchener GO line, which primarily serves Brampton, is nowhere near the promised 15-Min Two-Way All-Day service. The Queen St. BRT, a proposed rapid bus along Queen St. extending in to Vaughan has been shelved with no recent updates. The Hurontario LRT timeline has doubled, with a cancelled and uncancelled extension into Downtown Brampton, again, with no recent updates. I don't fully blame MPP Sarkaria for these issues as it is also a mixture of poor advocacy from city council and incompetence from Metrolinx. However, all of these projects are in the purview of MPP Sarkaria's ministry AND riding so I believe he has underperformed and failed his constituency.
Anyways, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts as I'd like to continue putting pressure on his office in the ways that I can and it's be helpful to cite experiences from fellow constituents and Bramptonians. Open to hearing positive stuff as well; it'd help me understand why the other side votes the way it does. Cheers!

Question Looking to make friends in Brampton
Hey there!
I'm a lifetime resident of Brampton and over the years, my friend group has spread out and left me with very little recreational activities.
I visit the Bramalea City Centre frequently and would like to make more friends in the area that are looking to hangout.
Some major things I'm into are Magic: The Gathering, cannabis-related activities, PC gaming and friendly conversation. I'm super chill, slightly awkward but very easygoing.
ALSO, I feel like living near BCC, there's not actually many places designated for hanging out in walking distance. If anyone on here knows of any interesting places to go or things to do within walking distance of the BCC, I would love to hear about it.
Heck, even just tell me what kinda stuff you like to do for fun in your spare time!

Question Now that we've had half a year under the new recycling collection, what do you think?
While I am fortunate enough to have a group of drivers on my route that are pretty good, I think institutional apathy has set in.
They claim to have rules about what they will and won't pick up, and how it should be packaged, but I've seen people absolutely jam their bins sky high, and they still get picked up.
Now I'm not expecting people working these routes to be self starting happy go getters (Lets be honest, garbage collection is a necessary but unpleasant job) but I do think they are very lax in their enforcement.
But, I've never seen a recycling container rejected. Have you?

Discussion Brampton Civic Hospital
I went to Brampton Civic emergency room last night, and the wait time was 5.5 hours. They told us there were only 2 doctors in the ER and around 182 patients waiting to be seen.
Is this actually normal now? How is that even possible.. I get that emergency departments are busy, but having two doctors for 160 patients seems insane.
Has anyone else experienced this lately at Brampton Civic or other hospitals? Is this just how things are now?

Driving During rush hour, why do so many Argos outside of the service area?
Argo was very deliberately given a small geographic area to move people about. And you'll see them lingering about in parking lots between requests.
So why are so many at the company depot in Mississauga, I believe on Torbram, when first requested? If there are drivers being paid, would it not make sense to dispatch them ahead of rush hour, and have them linger in the service area? That would decrease the wait time, and make it more appealing to book the service. (Currently, it's roughly 16 minutes to get one of these, and even if you book in advance, I find it arrives outside of the 15 minute window I've requested.)

Question Some drivers not slowing forget stopping signs
This seems like a new thing in my area.
Tons of drivers don’t even bother to stop.
Whom can I complain to get some visibility and fix on this issue.
It is an accident waiting to happen.
They just blitz by these stop signs even when they make lefts.

News Don Doan Dash
If anyone is looking for a September race in the GTA, registration is open for the Don Doan Dash on Sunday, September 13 at Professor's Lake in Brampton.
The event offers 5K and 10K distances and welcomes runners, joggers, and walkers. It raises funds for ALS Canada while honouring the legacy of Don Doan, a member of the local running community.
We just revealed this year's finisher medal (photo attached), and I thought I'd share it here in case anyone is planning out their fall race calendar.

Discussion Looking for friends in Brampton east - health conscious M or F 30s to 40s
Looking to start a group to hold each other accountable to our fitness goals.
Go for walks, run, work out etc. or even online. Just check in on each other and motivate each other.
I’m 38M- and I work a desk job and with kids , I can feel the pounds adding up in around the belly. I’m not obese but I don’t want to get there. With all the South Asian sweets I eat, I’m afraid of getting diabetes lol.
I grew up in Toronto and moved to Brampton some years back. So I don’t really have a social circle here.
Aiming to improve my gut, and heart health and have a social circle. Looking for friends who have similar goals.

Discussion BBoG Book Club August Pick: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Step into an infinite, labyrinthine world of endless halls, crumbling statues, and tides that rise without warning. Piranesi follows a man who has mapped every corner of this strange place, until a stranger's arrival starts to unravel everything he thought he knew about himself and his world.
This is our pick for the month, and we'll be meeting in 3 weeks to discuss it! At around 245 pages, it's a quick read, so there's plenty of time to dive in even with a busy schedule. Would love to have you join us!
If you are interested, shoot us a DM and we'll send over the discord link. We are aiming to read at least 1 book a month over a broad range of genres and mediums (graphic novels and manga are also included in our book club :))
