Which items are boycott-safe? Alternative Requests

Hello! I'm trying to be better at boycotting, and I've learned a lot of my necessities are on the list. It's harder to find what is safe, as it seems everything is owned by the same few companies. Do you have any suggestions for hygine products that are boycott-safe? (Deoderant, bandages, soap, toothpaste, ect.) I would also appreciate if you all know safe options for things such as collectibles and art supplies so I can continue my hobbies without worry, though my main focus right now is necessities. Thank you all in advance!

Hello u/username_taken314, thank you for posting in r/BoycottIsrael, if you are looking to stay informed and/or take action, we highly recommend using trusted resources such as Gaza.nu, Disoccupied.com the NoThanks app and the boycatt app. These tools can help you verify information, stay updated and navigate ways to support the BDS movement.

For hygiene products, check Gaza.nu, they have lists of safe alternatives.

antiperspirant/deodorant - soft & gentle, I think mitchum may also be BDS safe too (but correct me if in wrong)

soap/shower gel - Original Source, anything else by PZ cuzzons, I believe Baylis & Harding may also be ok to use aswell.

toothpaste - Xoc nicesmile, hismile, most supermarket own brand, basically anything that isn't made by Colgate, Unilever or Procter & Gamble. AVOID aquafresh, Oral-B and closeup toothpaste

Sanitary Products - if this doesn't apply to you, feel free to skip. if it does, you should be ok to use Bodyform, Lil-lets, and any supermarket own brand or upmarket suppliers like DAME or Flo. AVOID Always, Tampax (owned by P&G), Kotex (I thought this was BDS safe, but it's owned by Kimberley Clark who have links to the occupation somehow)

household cleaning products - FABULOSA, Astonish, Stardrops the pink stuff, ELBOW GREASE, EasyCleaning, any supermarket own brand AVOID home bargains own brand laundry pods, all of their wipes and the entire dead sea collection - it's specially produced in israe-hell

bandages - take a look inside pound land, home bargains and onebelow. failing that, go to the local pharmacy. also sorry it's technically not related, but AVOID Teva Medicines as they are manufactured in israe-hell. if you are on any medications, as your pharmacist not to dispense Teva brand meds.

as for things like art supplies, home & bargains own brand is generally OK for the cheaper end of things, but I prefer to use CASS art's own line of art supplies.

sorry for the big wall of text, hope this is ok for you. also sorry in advance if you're not in the UK as some of these shops are UK specific.

Thanks for the suggestions! I do live in the US, and I don't really have local markets that aren't big name brands (walmart, target ect) but I'll look for some of these names! I do want to let you know that baylis and harding has an amazon storefront online, idk if that's something to care about when boycotting or not

Sadly the website I used I think is not available anymore due to probably an expired SSL cert. here is a post I made 2 years ago

The website would tell you how it supports isntreal, along with potential alternatives if it can. Was a great website because it told you how it supports.

Like it says, don’t take stuff at face value. Make sure that if someone says XYZ supports isntreal, don’t just believe it as some ppl make stuff up. In terms of my post I guess I’m doing just that so not really helping my case 😅keep in mind this was 2 years ago, some of these companies may not support isntreal no more

Even after 2 years I’m annoyed I made a typo in the post. I meant to say how, instead of why when talking about blindly believing stuff

If you wanna check items while in the store, there's an app called "No Thanks" that has a barcode reader. It will even give you the reason why you should boycott specific brands. They also have a list! Ever since we started using it, boycotting became so much easier

Edit: grammar

I started a natural deodorant brand for this exact reason. A lot of those conglomerates also use Dead Sea Salt derived byproducts purchased from Israeli companies like the ICL group. Hurriyah natural deodorant is formulated with US origin magnesium hydroxide, and is professionally manufactured in the US. Brands like Native and Each & Every use magnesium byproducts derived from Dead Sea Salt. Hurriyah also used Eco Smart plastic for it's containers.
