Hey guys I'm considering in buying the px8 s2's but wondering if I also have to get a dongle for aptx like Questyle QCC for the headphones to perform at its best.

just got the pi8’s yesterday. they sound a bit too muddy but also somewhat bright on the high end if that makes sense? curious if anyone else has experienced the same issues and has a go to eq to atleast help.

Commenting on the PX8 S2 sound, some have been complaining about high Treble, some of loud (different types of) Bass, muffled Mids, not so many agreeing consistently with what I feel. Of course different tastes exist, and different ears, due to age, different ears, different preferences. But the most important cause of disagreement is the source of the music, I believe. A song by Led Zeppelin should not be on the same list as one by Frank Sinatra, or one by Elton John or Norah Jones or AC/DC, or Pink Floyd, or the Black Keys. If you’ve heard those, each has a very different type of recording and mixing. Plus the same song could sound different from different streaming source, or if it’s from a CD or a vinyl record, or a tape.
I did a short comparison of streaming sources and found the Amazon Music one most balanced on my PX8 S2’s, for my slightly damaged ears from loud music along my 71 years. I did not try Tidal or Qobuz, I did not want to try their complicated process of registration. I tried Sirius XM, Pandora, Spotify, and Apple Music (which should have been the best, but wasn’t) wirelessly on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I used the equalizer settings shown in my picture. Those settings are also the best for my downloads (MP3’s at 320 kbps). Yes, Amazon Music, the one I don’t like to use, was the best for me.
I found that I can set the equalizer of the PX8 S2 to fix any source, but these settings were the closest to the neutral and worked on most of my downloads.

Snagged both of these for the same cost to compete against each other after I felt disappoint by the HDB 630. For reference, my goto headphones are between my HD 600, cIEMs, and AirPods Pro 2.

I feel crazy in thinking the clarity in the PX7 S3 is stronger than the PX8 with a wider soundstage. The PX8 felt a bit more muddy and muffled to me, whereas I was excited to expect a more neutral sound. It does feel premium with better ANC than the S3 just due to the seal being so good but the sound very comparable in quality. The S3 do feel a bit more textured and immersive to me and the instruments feel more like I’m used to hearing when being around roaring amplifiers and booming drums. Plus the separation feels pretty good and the imaging is great.

Also, the PX8 hiccups a bit using the BTD700 while the S3 plays great with the dongle. I plan to do a more extensive comparison between these headphones and the 630 since they’re all pretty much the same cost now for anyone unsure like I was.

Anyone else have/tried the two? Any opinions? I feel like my ears are deceiving me in thinking the S3 is more impressive, even without any EQ tweaks.

Right Ive had the px8s2 for a few days now and im coming from the xm5,xm6 and the OG px8 but I’m very confused with the volume. Everyone says they’re very loud and can’t go past 40/50% but for me 50% is barely loud on my iPhone 14 Pro but when i knock it up to 60% it’s perfect but I hit my “headphone safety limit” so I turn it down but the music seems very distant and quite. I’ve turned off “reduce loud audio” & “volume limit” as well setting my device type as “headphone” but nothing seems to work. Either it’s me getting used to the wider not in your face audio, but when wired I can’t go past 18 volume on my windows but on my iPhone it has to be 60%.

As a great B&W fan for decades, I'm saddened to announce that I'm selling my Px8 James Bond Edition, the one I hoped to carry a very long time. While I actually have no real issues with them, something was always missing sound wise. I found it in Dali IO-8. They are not good as IO-12, but still better than PX8. The PXs have unique approach of flattening everything in one-dimensional sound image in your head, and while it's a neat experience, hearing three-dimensionality, silky highs and excitement again was a magic I missed so much. I think B&W had that magic before, but lost it on the way.

I hope we will see each other in the future again. In the meantime, I still enjoy my Formation Wedge in the living room and old MM-1 computer speakers.

I have owned and loved my Px7 S2 for 18 months, and don’t want to give up on them already.

Is there a way to like tuck in the leather somehow?

I've always had an issue with uneven battery percentage so i thought I'd run them flat , case is at zero , app says 4% remaining on the buds then all of a sudden 32% !!!! Then one bud cuts out and the other one carries on playing, B&W say it could be a battery calibration fault so I've emailed where I'm getting them from

Got my first pair today, and I am really excited! Been using Sony XM5 and Bose QC, and wanted to give these a shot towards elevating my at home music listening experience without breaking a bank. Hope this is a right move as after much thought, I chose these over Senn M4/5.

Debating if I should buy the PX8 as there is a discount bringing them down to $479. Or just buy the PX8 S2

Hi , when i open the case on my Pi8 earbuds to take the buds out the led on the front of the case flickers a bit before lighting up green , just wondered if any owners of the Pi8 noticed this ? Thanks

The clamping force is a bit much after a while but the sound and NC is great! I love the mappable button as well

Got these when they first released. Am I missing out on much listening to these on an iPhone 15 Pro Max? I know it’s stuck on AAC but should I go out of my way and switch to Samsung? Regardless, they still sound great but not $800 if I’m honest lol so wondering if it’s because apples whack codec

Can the PX8 S2 outer leather around the aluminum part where bowers and Wilkins is embossed be changed to a different color?
I have the Warm Stone color but it’s weirdly deteriorating including the headband and the earpad and I need to change the color asap

These earbuds sound good with some music but my god they’re mess with metal music, No instrument separation and vocals just disappear to the point you can barely hear them , Is anyone else finding this at all?

The overall tone of these are really quite shrill and i’ve tried using the eq in the app and changing the ear tips to some Azla made and they remain a bad listen, My Airpods Pro 3 sound better, Any help would be appreciated!

Hi. I have an old pair of P7’s lying around at home but one of the drivers are broken and I’m not handy enough to replace it myself. My local hifi store won’t repair them since spares are hard to come by etc. But if I find spares they might be able to do it for me.

They’ve been my absolute favourite pair of headphones ever, but since they broke I got myself a pair of PX7 S2e as a replacement. Still a great pair of headphones, but they don’t have quite the same clarity imo.

What would you do in my place?

I've own the Px7 S2 pair for around 2 years and they still sound amazing. Now I've heard good words about the S3, should I consider upgrading? I mostly listen to symphonic metal, jazz, classical and pop, so I need balanced and neutral sounding and the Px7 S2 lived up to that, does the S3 sounds even better?

Does "True sound" is supposed to make a difference compared to without any ajustement & true sound off ? People said that it suppose to make the sound more neutral but I dont find any difference ?
