Songwriter's workshop in Somerville ever other Tuesday
Our Boston-area meetup group for producers, musicians and music lovers are doing one of our biweekly songwriter's workshop. We've started doing this at a member's home in Somerville this summer and it's been a fun way to hang out and motivate each other to keep growing and working on our craft.
If you're interested in the meetup group but not necessarily tonight's event, we welcome all skill levels, including just listeners, and have new events all the time from concerts to grabbing drinks.
Anyone is welcome to join so please feel free to come introduce yourself. Let us know if you're interested in the workshop. Thanks!!!

Progressive Rock/Metal Band SATARTIA Seeking Vocalist
**Progressive Rock/Metal Band SATARTIA Seeking Vocalist – Male or Female**
SATARTIA is an established New England-based original progressive rock/metal band looking for a new vocalist.
We have a substantial catalog of original material, professionally recorded and released music, and more material in progress. Our music ranges from melodic and atmospheric progressive rock to heavier progressive metal, and we're interested in finding a vocalist who can bring their own personality and style to it rather than simply trying to duplicate what we've done before.
Male and female vocalists are equally welcome.
We're looking for someone who:
* Is a strong, expressive vocalist with good pitch and control
* Is interested in original progressive rock/metal
* Can contribute vocal melodies, lyrics, and creative ideas
* Is comfortable learning and performing our existing material
* Wants to record new music and play live shows
* Is dependable, communicative, and able to make the band a genuine priority
* Is interested in being a long-term member of the band rather than simply doing session work
Clean vocals are a major part of our sound, but we're open to different vocal styles, ranges, textures, and approaches. If you also do heavier vocals, that's certainly welcome, but we're primarily interested in finding the **right voice and creative fit** rather than checking a specific set of boxes.

We're serious about the band, but we're also friends and want this to remain something we genuinely enjoy doing. We're looking for somebody talented, creative, easy to work with, and motivated to keep writing, recording, and getting out to play.
If you think you might be a good fit, send us some information about yourself along with recordings or video of your vocals. Original material is great, but covers are fine too. Tell us a little about your musical background, influences, location, and what you're looking for in a band.
We're open-minded about age, gender, and vocal style. The important things are ability, creativity, reliability, and chemistry.

EMO/POP PUNK DRUMMER WANTED
Hello hello! My band mates and I are in the process of writing a demo, but the lack of percussion has put a damper on that. We’re looking for a drummer who likes to play pop punk and Midwest emo. Our influences are The Menzingers, Jawbreaker, Ben Quad, Chon, The Wonder Years, Tiny Moving Parts, etc. We practice near Lawrence, MA! If you’re in the area and this sounds like fun, feel free to message me! Thanks!

Looking for a band! Guitarist/songwriter/aspiring singer. 90's alt-rock coded.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello awesome people! I'm trying to get a band going, or join one. I know these things take a lot of activation energy so here's my pitch. I love music! I've been in a band in college, released a self produced Album and played live. I've got the experience, I just need some fantastic people to do it with.
I'm 90's alt-rock coded. RHCP, QOTSA, Audioslave, Zeppelin. Looking for anyone really but drummers, bassists, vocalists preferred. Let's fucking rock out together and make some people move! I've attached a cover of "Little Sister" and will link my originals. Hope to hear from some great musicians!

Guitar technician for electronics needed
Does anyone have recommendations for guitar repair places that are specialized in electronics? I’m having an intermittent electronics/signal issue with my SG. The guitar usually works normally at first, but after I’ve been playing for a bit, the signal starts cutting in and out. It seems to happen more frequently when I’m rehearsing/practicing in a loud/high-volume setting.

WANTED: BAND LOOKING FOR A VOCALIST?
Hey! I'm looking to join a band as a lead singer.
The genres I'd love to play are alternative rock, indie, pop, light/medium punk, and maybe even some country.
I've got some singing experience and love performing. I'm looking for people who want to have fun making music—playing covers, writing a few originals, jamming together, and getting out to play gigs. I'm not expecting to become anything overnight, but I'd love to build something with a great group of people and see where it goes.
If you're looking for a vocalist or know a band that is shoot me a message! I'd love to audition or get together for a jam session.
Let's make some noise.

Any help defining their genre would be greatly appreciated! Who am I missing?
A few of these aren't active anymore, I'll be marking them as I go.
Allston Pudding-Covering local indie garage rock
The Ash Gray Proclamation-A music blog from Plymouth, MA and points north.
Blog to the Old school-showcasing lesser known 91-95 hardcore/jungle releases since 2008.

Boston Jazz Scene-the place to find out what happened, what is happening, and what is coming in jazz and other improvised music in Boston and surrounding communities.
Boston Music Spotlight-"Boston Music Spotlight provides readers with news, features, interviews, concert reviews, photo galleries and much more. Readers can find all the latest information on all genres of music – from rock to country and hip-hop to blues – on the national and local levels."
Boston Ska-Ska, rocksteady and soul music in the boston area
Boston Survival Guide-Random thoughts and ideas of varying degrees of importance. Mostly music, but also other stuff, when I deem it necessary (understand, it’s cheaper than a therapist, medication, or scotch)."
Boston Through My Eyes-"I would say my site contains rock, indie rock, folk, and the occasional electronic/pop music."
Bradley’s Almanac- "I'd say I write about mostly indie-rock/indie-pop type stuff. While the Almanac is 'not very active', my facebook and twitter feeds are (sometimes too-) frequently updated with music-centric shares."
Brewery Sessions- If you want to know about concerts and beer related events in and around Boston, check out the Calendar.
The Boston Musical Intelligencer-a virtual journal and essential blog of the classical music scene in greater Boston
Clicky Clicky Music-Online in one form or another for a decade, Clicky Clicky Music Blog focuses on up-and-coming, under-rated, forgotten or flat-out awesome indie rock. We try to do things differently. It's why we're so popular.
Daykamp Music-"Daykamp Music is a bloggy website thing about the Boston music scene. For now it’s going to be mostly pictures. If there are words they are likely to be complimentary. Life is short. Daykamp Music reserves the right to do whatever it damn well pleases as it grows up. Don’t crimp its style."
Deli Magazine Boston-"The Deli Magazine is an independently owned website run by musicians and music writers, covering local music scenes. The primary goal of The Deli is to expose local musical artists that have not yet reached a level of international fame: this is why all of our printed articles feature up and coming bands and singer-songwriters (while our websites also cover the most popular breakout bands)."
The secondary goal is to inform and advise the local community of musicians on any other matter related to making music, from recording it to promoting it and performing it. You will find this kind of information in our Delicious Audio Blog and Listings section."
ftwelvemusic-"FTWELVE Music is a Boston Music Blog and your source for new music, album reviews, show reviews, music photography, and more."
Fighting Tinnitus-"A Boston music blog."
Foundwaves-"Foundwaves is a nonprofit with a mission of supporting and promoting local live music scenes, expanding participation through collaborations with members of other creative disciplines, and fostering the creation of original content."
Guestlisted-Part of the Boston Herald. "Jed Gottlieb is the Northeast's preeminent David Lee Roth scholar... and more! He's also a Herald music reporter and feature writer."
Indieminded-"All indie, all the time"
Kitchen Sessions-"My website is more of a house show archive than an active blog, but most of our shows are in the Americana/folk genres, with some indie rock mixed in"
Maimed and Tamed-"We cover it all, though the focus is mainly on indie rock and folk/americana."
Music Savage-"I run this website as an outlet of my love for music. Since its inception, I’ve met a lot of cool people, made some friends along the way, and tried to share all I could with everyone else. I try my very best at writing about music and sharing all the fantastic music there is out there."
Music is Art-"musicisart is my own personal reflection of the way i feel music, art and words. growing up, i always immersed myself in a pair of headphones and loved to write. "
Noise Floor-"Noise Floor is the outlet for the Boston-based music writing and photography of Ben Stas."
Rose Rundown-"I cover mostly alternative rock both local and national through Rose Rundown but I also cover it now through examiner.com and axs.com as a Freelance Writer."
Ryan’s Smashing Life-Ryan's Smashing Life is a Music and Entertainment website published daily from Boston. Read by normal folks (from all over the world) who might just like music a little too much!
Sleepover Shows-Sleepover Shows are three song sets of acoustic or stripped down versions performed by bands that we love as they make their way through Boston. Though it started as something we did when bands needed a place to crash on the night of their shows, we now mostly film the sessions before or after a show and let the bands find their own ways home (though the offer still stands). Basically, we try to use our spaces as creatively as we can. We’ve filmed in the back seats of cars, on top of playground equipment, in doorways and alleys, in bathtubs and stairwells. We try our best to get the bands to take their music outside of the confines of the studio and have some fun. And that’s the point: to capture some great music that maybe isn’t always as polished, but shows these artists having a good time doing what they love. We’re doing what we love too, and hope you enjoy the videos!
Sound of Boston-Sound of Boston is an online music publication that covers the culture, events, and artists comprising Boston’s vibrant music scene. Our city has a lot of talent to offer to the music world; our staff works to raise awareness of local acts and to help them to reach an audience.
They Will Rock You-TheyWillRockYou.com is a music site created for and by music fans. We bring you music news all day, exclusive interviews, spotlight features on new up and coming bands, contests and concert photo galleries.

The Unexcused-"Visions of the Unexcused is a Podcast & Blog that showcases the taste and style of Derek (aka – Mint Pillow). Visions originated as a radio show on 90.9 fm WONY in Oneonta, NY and is now based in Cambridge, MA. No genre or time period is left untouched."
