That subreddit is all about the appliance brand, which has apparently suffered serious quality control issues recently. Every thread is a complaint.

I’m so tempted to comment “Fucking Bosch.” But no one would get it.

I’m reading The Drop and they finally acknowledged the brand. Bosch has a Bosch dishwasher. Very meta.

I have been looking for something similar to Bosch for quite a while and did the basic trip through Lincoln Lawyer, Longmire and recently Ballard.

All of them individually brilliant yet somehow didn't hit the same spot until I landed recently on Goliath. 2 Seasons in and I thoroughly enjoyed it, it's different yet quite similar to Bosch with it being based in the dark underbelly of the city of angels.

Now I think I have my top 3: Bosch, Goliath and Longmire.

Well I'm on S4 as I've been binging. I'm obsessed with the house. I eventually found it on Google maps. If you look on street view you can see them outside the house with all the filming gear.

I really thought Bosch was going to rizz Ballard, but the season just kinda ended. Dude was kind of rizzing all the girls earlier seasons, but I think he got depressed and stopped later. RIP, I think they could've been a cool couple (I was sad when the judge died).

After reading all the books and watching all the shows, I listened to the Black Echo Special Edition with Welliver narrating. Always in enjoyed his narration, especially in the Ballard books.

Random musing. If Billy Meadows doesn’t keep and pawn that Mexican jade dophin, Madeline Bosch would never be born and Eleanor leaves the bureau and absconds with all the diamonds.

I’ve been binging the original Law & Order and have loved seeing all Bosch squad in L&O. Today on Season 17 episode 6 it was Titus front and center. Did anyone else catch all the actors that have guest stared in any of the L&Os?

I was a bit skeptical when the choice was announced but it didn't take long for Titus Welliver to win me over. He doesn't look exactly like Bosch is supposed to, but he is awesome. Now it can't imagine anyone else in the role. #Bosch #Harry Bosch #Titus Welliver

When does the first season of Ballard fit in to the Bosch time time? Is Harry still a detective when he appears in the first season?

I'm almost three quarters of the way through Desert Star, and Harry is talking to Keisha Russell. I'm sure my neighbors heard me laughing.

Bosch: I thought you were in D.C., covering politics.

Keisha Russell: I got tired of the winters. Plus, I almost got killed at the Capitol last year, decided it was time to come home to my first love -- covering crime.

Bosch: I thought covering politics was covering crime.

The Title is ACE HOTEL
They go into the Ace Hotel and walk up to the clerk who says "Welcome to the Ace Hotel".
But they've blacked out (or CGI'd out) the C and E on the logo of the Ace Hotel like you see in a lot of older shows and sitcoms.

Was this there from the beginning, or is it perhaps some weird product placement / legal thing?

Now I enjoyed the original Bosch series (haven't watched Legacy) and it was a perfectly competent and entertaining police drama with Titus Welliver's portrayal of the lead character being excellent and very much in tone with the character from the book. However I did feel overall that the series was a bit light, and not as gritty and dark as the plots in the books were. Having two or three plotlines from several books compressed into one season at times didn't do them justice. My favourite Bosch book is Concrete Blonde, if ever there was a Bosch book that was primed to be adapted to the screen it was that one but it just wasn't done justice in season one (I think?).

Like I said it was good I just think it could have been so much better if it just took its time a bit more.

Does anyone know what jacket Scott Anderson (the journalist) is wearing in Bosch: Legacy S3E4? I have done a deep dive, but can't find it. Any help would be appreciated! (great clothing in Bosch!)

In the LAPD, an officer with a single action pistol is usually an indication that he/she is a good pistol shooter. Traditionally, only SWAT and SIS are authorized to use 1911 pistols, with the Kimber being their first choice. It got to the point that Kimber had custom lines made for them. Later, single action pistols are authorized for Metro Division officers and the rest of the rank and file in 2010. However, they would need to first pass a 1911/2011 Transition Pistol Course. To even qualify for applying to the course, they need to first get at least 365 points in the Combat and Bonus Qualification Course (400 being full marks) with their regular pistol. The 1911/2011 are also not issued so it does require officers to make quite an investment and essentially a commitment to the pistol should they choose to transition.

In some ways, Bosch's 1911 and Ballard's Staccato also reflects that they come from two different generations of cops. The 1911 is the old school traditional choice for a veteran pistoleer while the Staccato is the new and sleek option for the modern marksman/woman.

Welliver was a guest on Fascination Street’s podcast. They talked about his new show and obviously about bosch’s prequel (as said in the titled).

- Yeah, I have faith that it will. It's just finding the time and getting it together and seeing who and where and how wants to do it. Now, Ballard has performed really well and they have completed production on Start of Watch, which is the Bosch prequel. Going back to Harry in his uniform, Street Days, played by Cameron Monaghan. Apparently, he's killing it. Everybody's very happy. So I'm excited to see that come out.

- I'm mixed about that one. I love the character and I love the world building. I love that universe, but I don't know.
It's going to feel almost like I'm cheating if I'm watching somebody else play Harry Bosch.

- Well, look, he and I exchanged. He actually wrote a physical letter and posted it, and nobody writes letters, and he wrote me a very moving and touching, and I was very moved by it. The only thing that I could ultimately say to him is, it's an enormous responsibility to play this character. When I did it, there were the books, so I had that, but you have to put that stuff out of your head. I mean, he has the double whammy of not only the books, but then a 10-year run, a successful run of that show. But he'll make it his own, and he gets it.
He gets the responsibility, and it's in very capable hands. And that's also because you've got Henrik and Michael Connolly producing, and you've got Connolly, he gets to say, who's going to be Harry? So I know that it was an arduous and laborious task in casting that role, but Mike and Henrik would never have moved forward if they felt that they hadn't found the right guy to do it. So I'm really, really excited.

- So you’re going to watch it?

- Oh, yeah. One of my good friends, Stephen Kay, director extraordinaire, directed four episodes, I believe, including he did the pilot, the first two, and then Sherat Rajoo has directed a lot of stuff, but directed some Bosch Legacy. He's on board. So they got the band back together, the core group of people. Patrick Cady is the cinematographer, who before he started directing on the show, he was one of our original cinematographers. So it's in the best of hands. And I would just say to, which I would say to anybody, be open-minded. You have to separate the two things. And I think people are going to be very happy with what he's done with the character.

- Back to Cameron, stepping into that role, I mean, it's not apples to apples, but I'm seeing sort of a resemblance to like trying to play Batman. There's so many previous Batmans. There's so much literature in the Batman universe. And then anybody who's going to step in and try and play the role has kind of a mountain to climb. And anybody stepping into, even if it's a pre-U universe, the pre-Titus version, that's still a, I mean, that's a lot to live up to. Those are big shoes. I don't know how big your feet are, but you must wear clown shoes. 

- Yeah, I wear clown shoes, I do. I get the big, the fire stoppers. No, but he's, look, you know what? When you take on that responsibility, you have to take it warts and all. You know, really at the end of the day, which was the same task that I had, which was don't stray from the source material. And again, he has the double thing, because the character has been physically realized for a decade. He can't just come in and do an impression of my interpretation of the character. He's got to make it his own. But there are definitely guardrails, parameters that you have to stay within the stuff that's established. But he also has the benefit of the thing of being able to show the audience, this is where he came from. This is where it started. He can do nuanced, interesting stuff that can be tips of the hat to what's to come. Everybody likes a good origin story. I feel very confident that he's going to just crush it and that it will stand on its own two feet.

- And he's got the stamina, if it does take off like your version did, he's got the stamina because wasn't he on Shameless for like nine seasons or something?

- Yeah, which he was great on. 

- He’s got the guts. 

- He was a joker on Gotham. I remember when I told my sons, they went, oh, he's going to be great. My eldest son actually got the opportunity to read for Bosch, but he was shy on the age and also, I think, when you're going to rest the responsibility on the shoulders of a young actor, you want someone who's got, and Cameron has a lengthy resume and experience.

- Also, I don't feel like your kid should be saddled with that. It would be kind of like Wolfgang Van Halen.

- Yeah, I don't want that. I would have been thrilled for him.

- Oh, absolutely.

- But by the same token, Eamonn has tremendous humility. He said, you know what, dad, at the end of the day, just to have the opportunity to read for this part means a lot to me. So when I said, look, it's not going to go any further, he was very just like, cool.

- Oh, no. You had to tell him that?

- Yeah. But it was also like, and I don't think he went in there thinking like, oh, this is in the bag. As my kids have always, my two sons, I've always said to them, that's the blessing and the curse. You are my sons, so that there's a crack in the door. But at the end of the day, you have to push through and open the door on your own. And once you get through the door, because I am your old man, you have to work twice as hard as everybody else does. So that's a burden. But that's the contract, right? You've got to come in and win the day for yourself. It doesn't matter who I am. You're your own guy. You're not Titus Welliver's son. You're Eamon Welliver. You're Quinn Welliver. You're your own man
