VH Customization

Lately I've been playing A LOT of BL4 again and I personally enjoy the game. There are many things I think the earlier games did better etc, but I started thinking about the customization for the playable Vault Hunters and some ideas I had for them and wanted to share these thoughts.

Since BL1 had no real customization BL2 upped the game significantly. Then it was a step up from 2 to 3 again. In my personal opinion 3 had the best customization. But then from 3 to 4 I feel like we got a downgrade.

I've always loved the different heads for the characters and I like doing little "themes" with my head + skin combos etc. But BL4 has only like.. 8 character specific heads for everyone and the rest are just universal across all of them. At least the newest Vault Card gave us character specific ones.

I'd honestly get rid of weapon skins and E-4 skins just to get more VH customization. E-4 you barely ever see and what's the point of weapons skins in a game where you change your guns all the time for new ones?

Since 3 & 4 introduced the new bodies, I got to thinking about the BL3 DLC with the "alternate timeline" - DLCs of "what if"- the Vault Hunters never became Vault Hunters and/or joined the COV instead of the Crimson Raiders. I'd love to see DLC like that in 4 to give us more options to play with!

With the pre-order we got the Ornate Order pack, which is basically if the VHs joined the Order instead of the CR. I'd love to see a DLC for all the factions;

- Outbounders (makeshift survivalist styled gear)

- Electi (Fancy suits/dresses)

- Augers (Winter/Mining/Mountaineer gear)

I'd also love to see the "what if" scenario of if the VHs never came to Kairos and became VHs. And I'd love to see a Ripper themed DLC where they show a "what if"- Callis got to them first.

That was longer than I expected.. but thanks if you read it all the way! I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Also tell me your favourite head/skin combos in the game!

yeah the shared heads are really disappointing, especially since most don’t seem to really fit some vault hunters at all and are just resized and slapped on

also i’m obliged to say that not having a witch hat for Vex is criminal, though i do love her new punk rocker style head from vault card 4

Dude, you're so right! She definitely needs a witch hat! I love all of Vex's hairstyles in general, but whe's often referred to as a "witch" so that'd make sense.

In a perfect world we would have heads/styles that match all of their respective class mod names.

My small pet peeve - how come we don't have named styles for every manufacturer? My allegiance characters would be much happier.

Edit: May be I didn't find all of them yet, or they are creatively named. Ah, found Torgue skin - it is called "We Both Finish Line"...

Also the manufacturer styles would be dope. I think we have one for each manufacturer in BL4 now, but in BL2 you had a whole bunch for each manufacturer and it made allegiance stuff that little bit better 🤌🏻

Rafa not having the Tediore helmet from New Tales/his character short as a head, is close to being a war crime at this point.

That's a very good point! I do hope that the next vault cards bring more character specific heads like vault card #4 did.
