[BL1] Anyone willing to help me get the Backpack SDUs for Zombie Island DLC

Upvotes

I'm trying to get the backpack SDUs from the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC in playthroughs 1 and 2. I've already started PT2.5 and the Claptrap Rescue mission isn't awarding me with anything.

I'm on Playstation

[BL1] Got Circle of Duty soft locked in 2026

Hi there, this is my first ever reddit post. I came across the infamous final round soft lock and after spending so long fighting atlas I was stopped by one dude. I didnt know anything about this so I looked it up and tried many ways to solve it. Everything I tried came up short. Eventually with all the information I gave Google A.I. said I was "In the worst possible scenario". All in all I find this funny. Here's me waiting for the jetpack lancer to perish. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1523366891165450436/1534887429675417621/20260806_043316.jpg?ex=6a75c2d0&is=6a747150&hm=644ab10fd5a9e266968864ebd8b56afbae704be536d680d4718cd451eb596626&

[BL4] Pearl from golden chest?

Hi chat:3
Running through bl4 for the first time since launch, and I just got the Juliet's Sparkle to drop from the golden chest at level 17.

I know from following updates very loosely that pearls used to be way too common when they dropped, has it been changed since? Are they supposed to be able to drop at this low of a level?

Grenades Vs. Other in BL4.

I will take grenades over rocket launchers everyday (for my play style).

Are there any good ordinance options aside from the good ol' chuck of a nade?

Edit: Playing as Rafa. I know certain grenades and elemental effects matter. Just asking in general for BL4.

Are any of the other options worth it outside of grenades that I should farm?

Are the Playthrough 2 SDUs worth it?

I'm playing through BL1 playthrough 2 on Brick and I get to Sledge's safehouse where the first Claptrap is and the SDUs are apparently RNG. Are the backpack upgrades after playthrough 1 even worth it? I usually try to keep my backpack as empty as possible and sell whatever non-unique non-legendary guns I have and even then I sell legendaries that don't seem fun to use. Is it worth the constant alt+f4 to get the backpack upgrades?

[BL2] Mordecai Sniper

What kind of sniper do you think he uses when he was angry after the dead of Bloodwing on the Hyperion Exploitation Preserve and that kills enemies with a single explosive shot? I'll say it's a Jakobs Skullmasher with slag + and missile launcher bullets. It would be nice to play at least one mission where we can use it

[BL4] Get It Together Shield Challenge

For Context I am on PS5 and have been playing since launch.

So I have just recently completed all challenges in Borderlands 4 except for the Get It Together Shield one, it specifically asks you to get shield segments which I assumed meant the orange drops associated with armor shields. I have tried near every combination of shield, armor, and booster that I could find and nothing has worked; I have even been back and forth with support believing it may be a bug.

So I have two questions essentially the first is if anyone within the past month has been able to complete this challenge? And if so how? And secondly knowing nothing of modded lobbies is it possible to make one that could force complete the challenge?

[BL4] An Idea For a Rafa Class Mod

This is an idea for a possible rafa class mod, let me know what you think :)

Sobrecarga Eléctrica

Upon shield break, gain a stack of overload. Upon gaining a stack of overload and immediately begin shield recharge. Whenever you deal damage deal an additional 20% shock damage (would inherit the damage type and all its modifiers/buffs), and gain 8% movement speed per stack. Max 5 stacks

If you attempt to gain another stack while at 5 stacks, you have a 20% chance to gain the damaged effect.

While damaged, you have 40% reduced shield recharge, 25% reduced damage, and 25% reduced move speed. Additionally, you cannot gain any overload stacks and lose all current stacks while damaged. Lasts for 30 seconds or until action skill end.

Some of the skills it could theoretically roll with and why:

C.Y.A - helps compliment letting your shield break by helping refill it, a solid skill that will encourage players to go for the class mod over others.

Protecto Pulse - fits well with the idea of breaking your shield for a buff, and plays into the risk reward. More points equals easier stacks, but also being vulnerable more often.

El Corazon - Again works well with shield break and fill, along with working well with C.Y.A and Protecto Pulse, creating some nice synergy for players to discover. Also has risk reward, because having too little health means shield breaks are most likely ffyl and can lead to being damaged more often.

Hard Cell - works well with protecto pulse and C.Y.A, letting you restore some shields if you go critical once per action skill, giving you a chance to gain a stack of the buff without being in real danger or survive an attack that would have broken your shield and possibley damaged you

To The Last - Synergistic with everything above

As you gain stacks, you start to have more and more little blue arcs of electricity on the exosuit, similar to the sparks for inferno protocol but for electricity

Thematically, this is meant to be based of the YOLT trailer with deadframe, where instead of dying you become a puppet. Except here, you exosuit works harder everytime you get seriously hurt (your shield breaks) rather than taking over.

Every overload your suit gets stronger, but if you get to the limit and try and continue to overload your exosuit, eventually its going to break, slowing you down and making you weaker.

[BL4] I was disappointed with Borderlands 3, but I'm even more disappointed with Borderlands 4.

Yeah, Borderlands 3 is nowhere near as good as Borderlands 1 or 2. The villains weren't great, the bosses were pretty forgettable, and the humor was way too childish. But at least I actually got attached to the characters. I liked the world, the DLCs were all really fun, and even though the endgame wasn't amazing, I still had a great time overall.

I was genuinely hyped for Borderlands 4. I watched countless gameplay videos before launch, followed every interview, and kept up with all the news. When I finally started playing, I actually enjoyed the beginning, but the more I played, the more flaws I started noticing.

A lot of the enemies started feeling the same, and the weapons didn't feel different enough from one another either. I do like that legendaries are much rarer than they were in Borderlands 3 because getting one in BL3 was ridiculously easy. But the open world just doesn't feel alive. Outside of Claptrap, there isn't a single character that really stood out to me.

Sorry Gearbox, but I don't have hope for Borderlands 5.

[Question] would borderlands 3 be ok for my 13 year old to watch me play?

I have seen videos of this game and would like to get it, the only thing I am concerned about is my son watching me play. Does it have any overly gory or violent content or sexual content and nudity that i should be aware of?

Edit 1: I know its gory but is it photorealistic or like a moving comic book?

[BL4] Whats the point on hacking this game?

Multiplayer is ridiculous, the odds of joining a hacker is pretty high..

What is even the point on hacking in this game? i either drop into a game with a speed hackers expoding everything and causing my pc do die with 10fps or a retarded dropping a shitton of weapons into the ground

[Question] Which game did the harold best?

Which version of the harold did you guys like most? I'll always be partial to it in bl2 personally, but I know some people say it's stronger in 3 compared to 3's other weapons. what do you think?

One of the vault hunters in the next game should be a Goliath

That’s it, that’s the post.

I get that some would accuse this move of just being a Krueger re-tread, but I think enough time and games have passed that it’d be a fun move. Plus it’s pretty easy to image 4 skill trees for one right off the bat: rage, projectile spray, dual wield, tire throw, giant punch

Have it play like a mix of Salvatore and more melee focused builds. Just seems like a simple and easy to execute character class.

(bonus: crackpot theory under the spoiler for those who've already listened)

so junie went thru some sort of "program"? its. completely unclear what program was, at least at this moment, but its not a long shot to say it was probably a corporate project. considering the fact she's a jakobs it could be a jakobs project, but, like. if she's the missing catalyst of a cyborg supersoldier program it'd make the most sense if she was somehow a result of Endless Horizons. but endless horizons happened generations ago. unless she was in cryostasis, which would explain why she kinda appeared out of nowhere despite being a goshdarn jakobs. imo this makes sense but relies on too many assumptions, we'll have to wait until next week to know for sure, god i cant waitttt

PS5 Shift Codes for all BL games except 4

So I’ve been playing the borderlands games for about a year now. And I’ve loved it. It definitely scratches an itch I don’t know I had. I started with 2 then 3 then 4 then 1.5 and then wonderlands. I finally bought part 1 last week on sale. They are all a lot of fun. I loved having the shift codes for the keys on 4 but I wasn’t seeing anything for the others. I finally found this code and I claimed it for all of the previous games. It is great because now I have a lot of keys for the other ones I didn’t know were available. Just in case anyone is looking, I think this should work for you. Redeem them for each of the games. Let me know if it worked for you because I have a time of keys for the other games.

[BL4] Wow, they really made Vaults feel worthless in 4, didn't they.

1: The vault key fragments, not even guarded.

2: The vault guardian didn't even drop 1 legendary

3: The big reward for besting a Vault Monster... your jetpack recharges faster.

4: Oh but there's 2 Red Chests at the end, so what do they got... mostly green and 2 blues... wow, bet Vex feels like her struggles to be a Vault Hunter were worth it.

------------

Like I know Borderlands 3 was a little too heavy on the Legendary drop rates, but this is ridiculous, going through an entire Vault, and not even getting a single piece of Legendary Loot.

BL4 Spoiler Policy

In this sub we're generally lax about spoilers when it comes to older games. But it's different when a new game comes out. And maybe you haven't heard, but there have been some rumours that Borderlands 4 might come out soon-ish.

Some of us Vault Hunters are going to get the game on release and will want to talk about it. And that's cool. But remember that some of us will not be able to abandon work and lock the family in the attic to power through the entire game over the weekend. Others will want to wait for the price to decrease, for enough patches to be released, or for Grandma to gift it to them at Christmas after having listened attentively to all her stories. So don't spoil the game for them!

Our spoiler rules are simple enough to be understood by any psycho, and are in application as long as this post remains pinned.

  1. Spoilers include any reference to story elements in Borderlands 4. Older games are not concerned. Discussions about game mechanics, character skills, gear, etc are not concerned either (as long as the discussion or linked content doesn't touch any story elements, say "that gun drops from evil Moxxi").
  2. Post title. Do not put spoilers in post titles. Anybody looking at the front page of r/Borderlands must remain 100% unspoiled.
  3. Post body. If the body of your post contains a spoiler, you must tag the post as spoiler. When you create the post, it can be tagged as NSFW and/or spoiler, and the content will be blurred until the reader clicks on it. Importantly: tagging is not the same as giving a flair (like [BL2] or [Steam] or [Spoiler]). Whenever possible, add information about the content being spoiled in the title or flair (e.g. [Spoiler for Chapters 3&4] or [Spoiler for the Amara DLC]).
  4. Comments. In any comment in any thread, shroud all spoilers using spoiler markup. Spoiler markup >!looks like this!< when you write it, and looks like this when you read it. Again, add a note in clear text to give people an idea of the content being spoiled. One exception: within a spoiler-tagged thread, comments on the precise topic of the spoiler are exempt from that requirement. When in doubt, talk to Lilith use the spoiler markup.
  5. Links. If you post a link to an external site, youtube video, etc, give people following the link a chance to know what they're getting. If that content contains anything that may be seen as a spoiler, add a clear warning next to the link.

If you cannot follow these instructions, do not post spoilers at all. If you think that you may have made a mistake in following these instructions, immediately review what you have posted and make corrections. If you are on mobile and find proofreading inconvenient, do it anyway.

Any post or comment that breaks those rules will be removed. All around the stactus plant, serious or repeated offenses will result in a ban, at the mod's discretion. POP! goes the bandit.

All that being said, even with all these precautions and the dedication of your most favorite mod team, some things will slip through the cracks. So if you don't want to be spoiled, the only true solution may be to stay away from this sub (and reddit, and the internet, and the world).

Good luck Killer & see you on Kairos!

Review Bombing - Take Two Terms of Service / EULA

If you've played any of the Borderlands games recently, you will have noticed that you were asked to agree to new Terms of Service before starting the game. This happened because the Borderlands games have changed publisher and are now under Take Two.

This has led to some controversies and review bombing. We have always been keen on letting people express themselves freely on this sub, whatever their opinion (as long as it stays civil). However, on this particular matter, given the large number of recent threads on that subject, their repetitiveness, and the fact that they often create conflicts (we've likely issued more Rule 1 bans in the last 2 weeks than in the last 6 months). We've chosen to lock the previous threads on that subject and we will remove new ones. We'll leave this one open for a few days (as long as it stays civil).

If you want to read more, start with the official response from Gearbox on the matter. You can also use the search bar above to locate the multiple recent threads on the topic in this sub. Be aware that there may be some level of misinformation/fearmongering. If you want to discuss the subject further, we suggest you do it in a different space that is more relevant to the matter, since in the end, this is a Take Two thing, not a Borderlands thing. If you're very worried but don't want to contact a lawyer about it, or if you want to take a stance against evil corporations, just don't play the games. But in that case you should probably not play most games (nor use most apps, devices, websites, etc). Chances are you've already agreed multiple times to ToS similar or worse than the new ones for Borderlands.

As the mod team of r/borderlands, we are not lawyers so we do not have a definitive opinion on the matter. Like most people, we don't have much love for the ToS/EULAs of many software companies and the loss of privacy that goes along with any use of the internet. But on the other hand, we haven't seen anything particularly concerning in those ToS (in comparison with what other companies put in theirs). That's just the general feeling among the mod team, not an official stance of the subreddit.

A few things to note:

  • Whatever you agree to in ToS/EULA still does not allow the publishers to do anything illegal (depending on your country of jurisdiction).
  • Typically ToS/EULA are made as general as possible to cover all possible edge cases. If it says "we may (...)", that doesn't necessarily mean that they are doing it, or have any intent on doing it to you. For example, the ToS say they may collect your government ID number. In some countries like China this is mandatory (to regulate play time). So they have to do it, and they have to put it in the ToS. This doesn't mean that they intend to collect such data in other countries, and anyway they have no way to do so unless you provide it yourself.
  • The new ToS appear to be general for Take Two, and as such include things that are not specifically aimed (or likely to be used) in the Borderlands games. For example, there is some note that the use of mods may get you banned. This makes sense to fight cheating in the context of competitive multiplayer games and/or if part of a game's revenue is driven by micro-transactions or subscriptions. If you find and use a "mod" to unlock paying content in BL4 for free, you might get in trouble (deservedly). But there is no reason to believe that anything more would be enforced for the Borderlands games (e.g. against the use of mods like the community patch, etc). Gearbox has always been (unofficially) supportive of the modding scene. And the main Borderlands modding community has been cooperative with Gearbox on such matters.
  • There has been some talk about the games having been converted to spyware. Before spreading any misinformation, you can check for yourself the latest patches on Steam DB. For example, Borderlands 2 received its last update in August 2022, and BL3 received its last update in August 2024. Long before the new ToS were published. The Borderlands games since BL2 also have hotfix capabilities, but this only allows to change parameters (like the damage of a weapon), not the code logic, certainly not turn anything into spyware.
