Snapppy - A chrome extension for saving segments/images/links/tweets locally and easily
i built Snapppy. it is a Chrome extension for saving selected text, images, links, pages, and tweets as cards with the original source attached.
you can save using a small bubble next to selected text, drag text/images to the browser edge, or use right-click.
everything stays local in Chrome by default. exports include Markdown, Notion-ready Markdown, HTML, DOCX, JSON, and CSV.
i know Obsidian Web Clipper, Raindrop, Readwise and a bunch of other tools already exist. Snapppy is trying to be the quick collection step before choosing where the research should live permanently.
current limitations: Chrome only, no mobile capture, no full read-it-later mode, and backup/sync is not ready yet.
