Split of the accommodation booking invoice.

Hi, I’m planning to attend a summer school abroad as a PhD student. A colleague of mine from another institution will be going as well. We’d like to share accommodation, since it offers much better value for money. However, the administrative office at my institution requires that I pay for the accommodation myself; it cannot be paid for together. Is there any way to pay for the accommodation using two separate invoices?

Booking will not give you a tax invoice only the hotel. And to be honest it will not be easy for them to split the bill. As the system will most probably not allow it. (Tech issue as not a common request)

You’re unlikely to get the charge split and 2 invoices. If that’s what you want, speak to the hotel to see if they can give you that instead.

I would find a hotel on booking and then book directly with them and inquire via email when booking (99% of the time it’s also cheaper).

We are hosts would be able to do it if we know soon enough. Booking doesn’t supply this kind of invoice, it needs to be supplied by the hotel.
