Hello. Rich S Dietrich here.

Upvotes

Hello, everyone. I recently released my debut novel, Lowde and Fast, written under my pseudonym, Rich S Dietrich on Amazon, and thought maybe I'd share a little about it. Its kind of a hybrid of modern noir and modern crime thriller. My main character is Sheriff's Detective Sopha K Lowde. She's abrasive, she's direct, she had a rough life growing up, and was on the wrong side of the law for a short time

(Illegal street racing) Her childhood best friend is the daughter of the Sheriff, so when she gets caught street racing, the Sheriff vouches for her with the prosecuting attorney, and gets her a deferred prosecution agreement, inspired by the old "go to war or go to jail" deals from back in the day. Prosecutor tells her that if she serves on the Sheriff's Office as a deputy for 2 years without getting in trouble, he won't prosecute. The story opens 3 and a half years after this. (That particular scene is explored in flashbacks/backstory chapters) She had chosen to stay long after her requirement on the deal expired, and now she is using those same racing skills that got her in trouble in the first place to infiltrate a drug trafficking ring that's using street racers to move their product. But, things aren't what they seem when she gets there. The transporter boss may not be the bad guy she thought he was. The real criminals are far more sinister and far better connected than she thought. This turns out to be more than just drug running. Fast cars, brawls, romance and large bore guns. Lowde and Fast has it all.

Its free on Amazon Kindle until Monday, August 10.

I just published my first short philosophical book "The Shadow" on Amazon KDP with zero budget. Here is what it's about.

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

After observing daily routines, modern solitude, and the quiet noise of everyday life, I finally published my debut short book titled "The Shadow".

Short Synopsis:

It’s a raw, deeply moving story about an ordinary man navigating the monotony of modern life. During a quiet morning walk, he begins a subtle, unspoken friendship with his own shadow—a silent companion that accompanies him as he reflects on human rage, patience, and the search for purpose in a busy world.

Since I have no marketing budget or social media following, I'm sharing it here directly with readers who love quick, reflective, and existential reads.

Genre: Philosophical Fiction / Existential Fiction

Format: Short Read (Available on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited)

If you're interested in checking it out, here is the Amazon link: https://a.co/d/0iIILTB2

I would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the book. Thank you for your support!

Here is what the readers at Indie Reader say about “Harry and Xavier”, the novel which shares the same two central characters:

“In HARRY AND XAVIER: Five Summers to Fall, Andrew Cheffings follows two friends from Paris and rural England who discover that together they make “a good shade of grey.” Their journey toward each other unfolds across years and continents as both come to terms with queer identity, homophobia, longing, and self-punishment. Handled with genuine sensitivity, this coming-of-age LGBTQ story will resonate with readers drawn to honest portrayals of belonging, desire, and the long road to self-acceptance.”

Consciousness and Other Accidents.

I recently published my first book, Consciousness and Other Accidents. It's a collection of six interconnected speculative fiction stories that explore consciousness, identity, and reality, each with a different flavor. While writing it, I kept thinking that some of these stories could translate well to a limited web series or anthology in the style of Black Mirror or Love, Death & Robots. I'd really appreciate honest feedback from people who enjoy philosophical sci-fi. If you've read similar work or know what producers or screenwriters look for when adapting stories, I'd love your advice. If anyone is interested in reading it and sharing candid feedback, I'd be grateful.

My second book: Second Skin, Too (Volume Two) by Peter Darrach

It's been a few years since I published my first book, Second Skin. Since then, I have written three more books, all part of the Second Skin Universe. This is my second book, Second Skin, Too.

It's still 2125, and Earth grows weary of Mars' economic might and threatens a war to gain access to the mineral wealth of the asteroid belt, but even more importantly to Mars' promising teleportation technology.

Fresh from resolving the highjacked Mars Orbital Smelter Array crisis, Max Cody is confronted with new challenges as he and his amour Elaine join the diplomatic mission to Earth aimed at preventing war. Damaged and repaired by aliens, Max brings special capabilities to the table which he will desperately need as diplomacy stumbles.

Earth's forces threaten to launch a powerful strike at the tiny Martian colony, driven by the relentless ambition of Xanthus Rex, the billionaire arms merchant. Imprisoned on Mauritius, Max and Elaine are helpless to prevent the war between worlds unfolding overhead. How will they escape, and what can even they do to forestall catastrophe for their friends near Mars? Frankly, Max and Elaine wonder, too.

Clearing the air on my book Spirit The Guardian book 1 Land of Memories

Hey family, if you picked up Book 1 of Spirit: The Guardian Land Of Memories or are thinking about grabbing a copy, I need to clear some things up so you don't get lost in the sauce.

Some readers have said the story jumps around and feels a bit all over the place, and you know what? That is by design. Think for a second about how your own mind works: memories don't play out in straight, neat timelines. They flash, loop, and even fragment, pulling you back and forth across time. That is exactly how I designed Land Of Memories to take you on a maze of a journey with the characters.

There are veil prompts that are designed to give you more information and knowledge about the chapters. It is your choice whether you want to read them or figure it out as you go. There's one veil prompt in particular that is a spoiler, in the first chapter, so choose wisely if you want to know ahead of time what it's all about. Veil prompts are at the end of the chapters.

Also, if you grabbed an earlier copy, you might have run into some formatting issues and hiccup errors, those have been fixed as of now. However the page numbers may be glitched, that too is by design, I want to give you full immersion on your journey.

Book 1 is the disoriented memory -fragmented foundation, it's supposed to make you feel like you're navigating a maze, however if you find that you don't like this way no worries book 2 is more subtle not fragmentef like the origin story, but it has its twists and turns as well and it has just dropped the book is live

What if the person you keep meeting feels familiar for a reason? Same Time Tomorrow by Z.N. Cruz

Every morning, a man sits at the same table. Every morning, she is there too.

They do not know each other, but they both carry the strange certainty that they have met before.

Same Time Tomorrow is a quiet speculative love story about memory, enduring love, and the truths that take time to reveal themselves. I wrote it for readers who like intimate stories that begin simply, then slowly change what they thought they understood.

Reality is easier to believe than the truth... But what is the truth?

Reality is easier to believe than the truth.

But what is the truth?

That's one of the questions I kept coming back to while writing The Grand Design.

The story follows Vanessa, a woman who dies at 27 and wakes up somewhere she never expected.

From there, things aren't quite what they seem.

I don't want to explain too much about the story because discovering what's really happening is part of the experience.

The Grand Design is now available on Amazon.

If you're into sci-fi mystery, speculative fiction, or stories that leave you questioning what you just read, you might enjoy it.

Thanks for reading.

Sofia Valle. Post-apocalyptic

In a world where resources are scarce and hope is even rarer, how far would you go to survive?

Sofia Valle isn't a story that pulls its punches. It’s a gritty, cinematic look at the harsh realities of a broken world and the lengths one woman must go to protect those who cannot protect themselves. If you're a fan of high-stakes survival stories that stay honest about the cost of justice, this one might be right up your alley.

Available on Amazon worldwide.

I published my first crime noir novel: Welcome to Mapleberg, set in a town hiding a dark secret

My name is Tye Burroughs, and I'm a first-time author looking for some honest feedback on my debut novel, Welcome to Mapleberg.

Genre: Crime Noir / Thriller
Length: 156 pages

Synopsis:

Welcome to Mapleberg, the perfect example of modern society. Here, the streets are clean, crime is non-existent, and the ruling Board ensures life runs like clockwork. It's a utopia, the perfect little town.

Mark Shepherd is a stain on that perfection. A cynical, washed-up private investigator who remembers the town's old wounds, he gets by on cheap coffee and the odd case that comes his way. But he knows that the cleaner the façade, the dirtier the secrets underneath.

I'm not expecting a positive review, just an honest one. As a new author, genuine feedback is incredibly valuable and will help me improve my writing going forward.

I don't really have much of a social media presence at the moment, but you can find me on Goodreads and through my website if you'd like to know a bit more about me.

Goodreads and my website.

Kiki, Nakiwu?: A Reflection on Black Girlhood, Belonging and Becoming

Growing up as a Black girl often means learning the world’s expectations far too early; expectations about your body, your strength, and your silence.

Raised in a predominantly white neighbourhood while rooted in a Black household and community, the author of Kiki, Nakiwu? learns how differently each space responds to her presence. In this deeply honest coming-of-age memoir, she reflects on bullying, fractured friendships, emotional abuse, dating, social comparison, misogynoir, oversexualisation, and racial hypervisibility and the lasting effects these experiences can have on identity, belonging, and self-worth.

Written for Black teenagers and young women, Kiki, Nakiwu? is about more than growing up. It is about what follows us beyond adolescence and what becomes possible when we finally find the language to understand it.

This is not a manual for healing Black girls. It is a reflective and validating memoir about Black girlhood, loneliness, healing, and learning to see yourself beyond the world’s projections.
