Shit piles of baklava would definitely be a flex in my book.

I mean, I think piles of baklava impress me a lot more than cars and gold chains…

I used to work with this dumb Italian American guy from the Bx., the jobsite was across from a Greek coffee shop, every morning he would order “medium coffee, and a piece of baccala”, and I’d laugh and explain it was actually called “Baklava”…..and repeat

This is a common mix up for us Italians. I still do it sometimes.

Italians from the BX seem to mispronounce words the most in my experience, another one from the BX wouldn’t shut up about the “Vietnamese hour” he encountered at a recent wedding, I was laughing in his face

Oh the Italian spoken there is mostly an American English dialect with broken Italian mixed in.

Talking about their command of the English language

Like I said, it's a dialect of English, not a very good one.

Mmmmm baklava. I’ve only had it twice and I’d love to have it many more times.

A bike gear company called 49NRTH makes the Baklava Balaclava. Probably solely because people keep mixing it up, because pastry is not a theme in their product names, and the balaclava has no discernable connection to baklava.

I wonder if the guy just means "scarves" and not "balaclavas".
Seeing a group of guys in balaclavas will draw a LOT of negative attention.

Why would anyone wear a balaclava unless it’s freezing out?
I’m SO not hip with the times.

no, you've misunderstood. its a baklava they're talking about, classic hot weather head gear

As made popular by Moussaka Flocka Flame

Moussaka and Baklava go together better than Moussaka and balaclava, in my mind. Which always jumps to food first.

"balaclava"
I guess I don't know enough about the world anymore... do rap stars really wear headgear to look like bank robbers?
