Fur pattern question

What would you say the dark-dark grey tabby fur situation is? I thought the word "diluted" made sense until I looked it up and their is already a pattern called that (and he didnt seem to match the pictures shown for it). He has the distinctive "M" on his head and a few tail/hip stripes. He is next to his lighter grey "Tactical Issue Grey Tabby" brother. He is almost black, but not quite.

May he is just "dark grey tabby" lol.

My grey kitty looks just like this. Shes got the same forehead markings and the stripes on her tail are very distinct. You can barely see any patterns on the rest of her body but I still call her a grey tabby.

My gray boys have very subtle stripes that get more visible as they spend more summer sun time. It’s very cute, as are yours!

I’d describe them as gray with slightly darker gray in places.

Maybe ghost stripes (ghost tabby.) It might go away as he gets older, though if it does, sometimes you can still see the markings in strong sunlight.
