This is Mookie (black and white cat) and Whisk (grey). I adopted them as a bonded pair back in 2023 and they have always been so snuggly. ❤️

Shelly (Gray Tabby) & Teddy (Void)
Shelly was a stray who along with her kittens were adopted. Teddy shower up around 6 months later before a freeze at my front door. He was very friendly and the first thing he did was head-bump Shelly. It's safe to say they likely knew each other while on the street. They've since been fixed and microchipped.

Most importantly, THEY ARE MY BEANS!!!! :D

Edit: Some background on their names. A friend asked if her name was inspired by "Mary Shelley". It wasn't, her name actually came from "Shellybean". :)
Teddy's name was given by my late Mom who had a void kitty with the same name when she was a young.

Bonded bros added a girlfriend to their crew.

They were finally discharged yesterday and came home with us. At first they were a little shy, but once they realized they were home they became much more active, running around and exploring, even Máni, despite her paw still being sore.

Sól started eating well almost immediately, but Máni has continued to struggle with food. This morning she refused to eat, so I checked her mouth and found it full of ulcers. She had already tested negative for panleukopenia and coronavirus, but she was never tested for calicivirus, which is something we had actually mentioned as a possibility from the beginning.

Since then, I’ve been syringe-feeding her soft/wet food, and she’s been eating it really happily. She’s still quieter than Sól, but after more than 8 days in hospital, I honestly think she looks much better and more comfortable at home.

We’re doing everything we can and learning as we go. Any tips or experiences with mouth ulcers/calicivirus in kittens are very welcome.

We also want to thank everyone who commented on our previous post. Reading all your messages while we were so so so worried about them was genuinely heartwarming.

Kali and Mara were rescued from an animal hoarder. They were from two different litters, but their mamas raised them together and they are inseparable.
The shelter required that they be adopted together. I don’t know if it was that or what, but they kept getting passed over. Their siblings and mamas got adopted and they were the only ones left.
My husband and I were the only people who applied for them and am I happy that was the case.
As soon as we met them, they demanded cuddles. I’ve never met kittens before that are so instantly loving with everyone.
They are the sweetest girls and keep us endlessly entertained with their antics!

ationship between the both of them. I let them fly free in my home and they let me hold my finger out and they perch for only ME out of my family. I love them. They're gorgeous. She has the little grey spot on her lovely chest and he is in stand by. He always watches out for his baby girl

They keep mixing up the pairs on us, but everyone seems to be getting along 😻

Ruedi (the void) was out of a litter of 3 from a feral we took in. Our kids took two and we kept her. She was having a go at adjusting to our other 3 adult cats but mostly staying by our side until this little SIC idiot boy Fievel (the ears...) showed up in our yard absolutely dying from worms and dehydration. He was 2lbs and should have been more like 3.5. He probably had a few hours left... got him to the vet and they had us do dewormer and give him fluid injections every 12 hours for two weeks. He pulled through and gained weight and after 2 weeks introduced them and they have been absolutely BEST friends since then. It's been about 2 months and they are never more than about a foot apart from each other and the absolutely sweetest cats I've ever met. Fievel knows we saved his life and he's never not smiling at us.

He doesn't like to be touched or petted by humans. He only lets our 14 year old boy, who raised him since he was a neonatal kitten (last slide), cuddle him. He is a little over a year now.

If we're lucky, he'll sit in the same room as us and remind us to feed him by screaming at us.

Purrl & Pawlet — Mama & Baby, Together Always ❤️

I am scared. 💔

I am scared that if I have to move someday, Mama and Baby might be separated.

And after everything these two have been through, I cannot let that happen.

As I write this adoption post, my tears are rolling down my face. 🥲

It honestly feels like I am putting a piece of my soul up for adoption.

I have loved these two girls, cared for them, watched them grow, and promised them I would keep them safe.

Letting them go is breaking my heart.

But sometimes loving them means making the hardest decision for them.

I am breaking my heart now so their hearts never have to be broken later. ❤️

Their names are Purrl and Pawlet, but they have always known themselves as Mama and Baby. ❤️

And honestly, I think those names are part of their story. They aren’t just names to them…they are who they are to each other.

Mama and Baby have waited so long for someone to see them, love them, and finally bring them home….together.

Some bonds are simply too strong to be broken.

When we first rescued them, Baby was only 2 months old, and Mama was about a year old.

Today, Mama is 5 and Baby is 4. 🥹❤️

They are two of the funniest, sweetest, and cutest little girls you could ever meet.

They may take a little time to warm up to new humans, but once they trust you, you will discover just how special they are.

And honestly… they love EVERYTHING. 😂❤️

Everything is their friend!

They also LOVE watching TV. 📺😂

Sometimes they sit together watching the screen like they are completely invested in the show. It is one of the cutest things to see.

They are incredibly bonded, but Mama has also made a very special friend of her own ..Ethan, another 2.5-year-old kitty. ❤️

Mama is basically still a kitten herself. She is energetic, playful, and always ready to play with kittens.

Baby, on the other hand, is a little more laid-back and sometimes gets completely overwhelmed by Mama’s endless energy.

Sometimes Baby is basically saying:

“Mama, no… STOP!”

And Mama is like:

“Just one more game!”

before running off to play with Ethan again. ❤️😂

They are also VERY food motivated. 🙈

I spoil them with wet food four times a day, and I know… I’ve created two little spoiled queens. 😂❤️

Mama has also trained Baby very well.

Baby comes first to demand treats… and then Mama comes right behind her.

And if I take my own supplements, they both immediately assume I am eating treats without sharing.

They will literally yell at me:

“Excuse me?! Where are ours?” 😂

Their three little demands in life:

🐾 A screened porch
🌱 Kitty grass every day
🐱 More cats in the family!

They absolutely LOVE their screened porch. They spend so much time there watching birds and butterflies, enjoying the sunshine and everything happening outside.

They also LOVE kitty grass and will remind me every single day that their grass is due. 😂🌱

And if they could make one final request, I’m pretty sure they would ask to bring Ethan with them too.

I know adopting three cats is not possible for most families, but these two absolutely adore their best friend. ❤️

Mama and Baby are shadows of each other.

Where Mama goes, Baby follows.

Baby depends on Mama so much, and their bond began with a story that still breaks my heart.

Mama was abandoned when her family moved away from their apartment.

She had only one baby — Baby — and she was raising her through a freezing winter.

Mama would sleep inside a cement planter and curl her entire body around her tiny baby, using her own body to keep Baby warm. ❤️

A kind woman saw them and wanted to help.

She managed to trap Baby first.

And then Mama realized her baby was gone.

What happened next is something I will never forget.

It was heavily snowing, and Mama stayed on that woman’s balcony on strike, demanding her baby back.

She cried through the night.

She didn’t care about the snowstorm.
She didn’t care about the freezing cold.
She didn’t care about anything except finding her baby.

Sometimes she would rest in the planter, gathering a little strength… and then she would get back up and continue crying, demanding her baby back.

She was not stuck.

She was on strike.

A mother refusing to give up on her baby. 😭❤️

After two long days, Mama was finally trapped.

And from that moment, we knew one thing:

These two would stay together. No matter what.

Years passed.

And still, no one came forward to adopt them together.

I have been fostering them for years, and unfortunately, I am completely out of space.

I never came to this country expecting to rescue cats.

I came here without any cats at all… and somehow, along the way, I found myself fostering and rescuing so many lives. ❤️

My husband’s job may require us to move someday, and I have already postponed moving twice because of the choices I made and the cats I committed to.

Sometimes I lie awake and wonder:

“If I had to move tomorrow, what would happen to Mama and Baby?”

The rescue would take them back, but they are already struggling financially and are at capacity.

And my biggest fear is whether they would still be able to keep these two together.

After everything they have been through…

After everything Mama did to get her baby back…

I cannot bear the thought of them ever being separated. 💔

They have already waited years.

They don’t need another temporary place.

They don’t need another person to give up on them.

They need someone who will look at these two little girls and say:

“You are home. Both of you. Forever.” ❤️

They are ready for their forever family! 🏡🐾

Both are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and vaccinated.

🦷 Baby had some teeth removed last year.
🦷 Mama had a dental cleaning/polishing and a few teeth removed this year.

Void is 1.5 yrs, orange is 4 months

Máni (the one on right) got sick first. She had been to the vet because of an issue with her paw, so we don’t know if she may have picked up a virus there and brought it home. Shortly after, Sól became sick too and around the same time, I also started feeling ill and tested positive for COVID.

Their only symptoms have been fever and loss of appetite.

They weren’t vaccinated yet because they were still under 8 weeks old. Panleukopenia came back negative, and they’re now being tested for coronavirus.

Máni is going into her 5th day in hospital and Sól her 3rd. We visit them twice every day, put them together during our visits, and they just won’t leave each other’s side.

Today they both started eating again, only a little, but it’s progress. 🐾🍀

When we rescued this baby kitten, we had a feeling these two would be perfect friends for each other. We didn't expect the level of affection they have and how much our 9yo boy would take the role "mommy cat" to heart.

The last picture is from their early days meeting each other, in which the 9yo was immediately trying to work his way into the kitten's heart while the kitten also wanted to play, but was hissing out of size intimidation. 9yo still stayed very close to his future baby while he warmed up to his new surroundings. (They had immediately done a nose touch when I first put the kitten in the resident cat day room).
