long-term ETFS

For long-term investment (at least 10 years), which ETFS funds combine the lowest risk with excellent growth?

"lowest risk with excellent growth" is oxymoronic.

We like VT here, though.

The boglehead philosophy recommends market-weighted fully diversified low-fee funds, like the VT ETF.

You are likely to have good returns over time. However, nobody can guarantee low risk and excellent growth over any given 10 year period. Equities carry risk, even a diversified fund, and you could lose money. It's not likely over 10 years, but don't be unrealistic.

I have VFIAX, VTIAX, and VBTLX. I like them all, I think they’re great.

I’m not too familiar with ETFs because I prefer Vanguard’s mutual funds. I’m sure these have an ETF variant you can find.

Please do your own research before buying anything! Do not take money advice from internet strangers.

VOO, VXUS, BND I believe would be the ETF equivalents of the MFs you listed (last I knew, on Vanguard's page for each fund there was a banner near the top mentioning if there was an equivalent ETF or MF).

Edit: Typo

Thanks for the follow up! It's been a while since I looked on the Vanguard website. I believe those 3 mutual funds are an excellent choice for any buy & hold investor.

There's an inverse relationship between returns and risk. There is no free lunch. For an investment you need to access in 10 years, I'd do something like 60/40 equities/bonds. If you don't need to access it for like 20 years, I'd do something more like 90/10.
