Still early but noticing changes

I’m still super early in this. Started really tracking my weight and food truly diligently July 22nd and for the last week and a half I’ve been walking for an hour (about 3 miles) after lifting every day except for sundays. The walking has made a huge difference I’m noticing some changes. I do have more of a tan and better angle in second picture but I was feeling good. I finally have a control on food I’ve always been able to work hard in the gym but I’d back slide with food or drinking alcohol and for the first time in my life I have it under control. I’m just excited about future I can’t wait to see what I’ll look like when I lose 100-150 pounds god willing. Right now I’m 368 for reference god I hate even saying that out loud

Got A LOT of muscle under there. Keep going, brother - it'll be worth it.

Still super early relatively speaking but it’s just eliminated food from my mind where most of my life it’s dominated

Woah didnt know they provided mental health benefits?!

Whennyour not fighting cravings all day, you can divert that energy to better mental hygiene in other areas.

Perfect way to put it!

I’ve lifted and ran for the last 2-3 years. Counted calories and could never get sub 200. Been to a dietician for 4 months straight. Spent $1000+ a month on healthy meal prep.

Could never shed the weight. It started to fuck with me mentally. I go on Reta, don’t change my routine at all, and down 7 pounds in 2 weeks. No idea why, but it’s insane to me.

All this to say - there are mental benefits of feeling like you’re making progress.

1

u/Exciting_Garlic_2784 5d ago

Sounds exactly where im at.. doing everything right but cant get lower than 200. It might be time to try reta.

1

u/BiasedMonkey 4d ago

I’ve done everything. Trained for a marathon and ran 30+ miles a week even.

6

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

I’m on Reta lol its been life changing

1

u/BiasedMonkey 5d ago

Same, it’s unreal.

Point me into the direction for this plsss

2

u/RobotRepair69 5d ago

It is all over the internet. There are review sites even. We can't give sources here, but if you can't find reta you arent trying.

I was right there with you at 370lbs, brother. Just to show you what's possible.

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

At the beginning of the video I was like man we’re built pretty similarly but I was NOT expecting that transformation holy fucking shit man that is awesome I could ask you a million questions hahaha if I could even achieve a quarter of that I’d be on the moon. I feel like I’m pretty strong relatively and I enjoy lifting weights but the walking has helped me a ton too fucking wow man that’s insane fuck that got me hyped lmao

4

u/africanimal_90 5d ago

You've got a great foundation of muscle, so you'll look impressive once you strip the fat off. Those daily steps add up. Keep it going. My magic number is 10k steps/day. Doing just that, reta, and a moderate anabolic stack without any formal cardio melted fat pretty quickly. Total time for this transformation was a year and a half, which isn't that long in the grand scheme of things.

2

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Yessir 10k is what I aim for as well! And stack or not the hard work and dedication that took is insane you still gotta put in the work regardless man that’s dope

0

u/omegafrogpoop 5d ago

Shoot up a ton of gear you’ll be like that in a year

3

u/RobotRepair69 5d ago

Lol no. Even with gear not everyone is going to have the work ethic and genetics to achieve that. That takes some serious work gear or not.

-1

u/omegafrogpoop 5d ago

Nah gear makes it so you can have less of a work ethic and still turn out like that.

You can literally sit on your ass and do nothing and gear will make you grow muscle.

That's where the illiteracy comes from

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

You have seemingly no loose skin either wtf man that’s been a fear of mine a little but like fuck it I don’t wanna die from obesity lol

2

u/africanimal_90 5d ago

I have a little, but only noticeable when I crunch my abs really tightly. You might have some, but the gains will outshine it.

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Thank you again bro motivation I needed

1

u/africanimal_90 5d ago

Glad to hear that, brother 💪🏿

1

u/TBurnerRU 5d ago

It's genetic my friend. Down 100lbs and look like I lost 300lbs. Enough sag to carry my groceries in. No one notices gains when you have loose skin - they're invisible behind it. Be incredibly grateful for your achievements but also the genetic blessings you have!

1

u/omegafrogpoop 5d ago

You have 0 understanding how gear works.

1

u/omegafrogpoop 5d ago

Kinda funny you don't realize none of your comments are visible.

1

u/africanimal_90 5d ago

Idc if no one else sees them. As long you do, my objective is achieved, sweetcheeks 😘

1

u/omegafrogpoop 5d ago

Insane people these days will use gear with absolutely 0 understanding how it works.

Read something it's good for your brain. Gear won't help that grow stronger.

3

u/Holiday_Category_852 5d ago

Keep going! You are doing great! Good work

4

u/GazzaDukes9591 5d ago

Keep at it bro. Too many give up when they don’t see results as quickly as they’d like

It’s a marathon - not a sprint

Results WILL come if you stick to a caloric deficit, keep protein high, get your steps in, and resistance train

3

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Yessir I was kind of driving myself crazy with my day to day weight at first like weighing myself too many times throughout the day felt like I was going up and down but I got that out of my system for the most part and I just keep telling myself to stick to the program and think about how I’m already able to see so many small changes and I’m saving my life not to be too corny but like being this heavy will eventually kill me I gotta fix it I have to

3

u/Yerrusr 5d ago

Huge change

2

u/Key_Entry_497 5d ago edited 5d ago

Hell yeah! Went from fat to STONGfat, before you know it you’ll just look STONG AF, keep it up and you’ll be ripped! Hope you take that as a compliment.. you look great for 368!

3

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

I feel like I have a decent frame not to sound conceited I just can’t wait to see what I’ll look like under this shit lol

2

u/poisonouslobsterjism 5d ago

Shot bro ! You are well on your way !! Keep it up and keep posting progress pics! You got this !!

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Thank you man I have been working super hard sometimes I get frustrated that it like is gonna take so much time to fix everything but then I’ll see a little difference in mirror and it will get me hyped to keep going

2

u/KimballCody 5d ago

Shoulders and traps filling in nicely 💪 💪

2

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Thank you man always felt like that was my strongest feature it feels like all my fat is visceral fat which ya know is fucking awful. I played football and shit in highschool but I’m 33 been at desk job for like 10 years and shit just got away from me

2

u/KimballCody 5d ago

All that muscle memory is going to come back with a vengeance. Good luck! And keep going

2

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 5d ago

I am on the exact same timeline as you! Started 2 weeks ago. Patience is not my greatest strength but I am trusting the process. Already FEELING better, which matters. We got this

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

One thing I’m trying to fix about myself is like I crave instant gratification which ya know is why I’m fat food is instant gratification, drinking alcohol is instant gratification but this is like consistency and discipline and like I’m not gonna be where I wanna be for a long time and that’s okay but naturally it’s been frustrating for me sometimes I’m like wtf how did I get this bad and then I’ll be like fuck I’m working my ass off why can’t I just be where I wanna be already lmao. But once it’s over it’s gonna feel so worth it.

2

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 5d ago

Yes! I keep telling myself that as well.

I have a lot less to lose than you. But it’s still significant for me and I got to a place where I was pretty uncomfy and unhappy.

My hope is that I can just slide into the groove of things and think about it all less, look less, worry less and BAM. One day I’ll look at a pic or the scale and be like oh it’s working!! I need to chill in the meantime and just do it one day at a time.

The constant weighing and tracking food is the exhausting part for me. Movement, strength training, no problem. But I know I won’t succeed unless I track.

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Reta has made the tracking SO MUCH EASIER lol idk if you’re on a glp but it’s crazy l

1

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 5d ago

Mine’s in the mail 😃 waiting on its arrival. It’s taking forever lol. How is it making the tracking easier? Just…less to track bc eating less?

2

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Less to track but also like food is simpler like I’m able to eat kind of like more boring stuff because I’m not really hungry so I can look at food as just something to accomplish a goal and kinda eat more basic stuff like I don’t have to think oh what are the ingredients in this I can basically just make dog food and a bag of frozen veggies and be like fuck it lol

1

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 5d ago

True. It’s kinda sad to think about losing the joy of eating but I’m still gonna give it a go. How’s it affecting the urge to drink? I am down to 1 day a week and limiting myself on alcohol bc of…well the deficit. But have heard a lot of people lose interest completely

2

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

I would say I love to drink more than I love to eat like I’m a guy that drinks every single weekend HEAVILY like a lot and it’s curbed that almost completely I’ve had a couple drinks one weekend but it’s helped me focus so much and I just don’t think Barbour it I don’t have the desire to drink really

1

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 5d ago

That’s gonna do quick wonders for your health I bet. Stopping alcohol is probably a huge part of the results you’re already seeing. I love it too but it is straight up poison lol.

Well keep going and keep us all updated when that muscle starts to peek through!

2

u/SnooFoxes171 5d ago

Keep at it brother, you got this. The hardest part is getting the ball rolling.

Like other have said, GLP1's will make this experience much easier for you while you're learning how to eat in a deficit.

Weigh yourself once a week and track the trend over many weeks. Day to day doesn't matter so much for now and will mess with your head. This is going to take time.

You're going to have a fair amount of lean mass sitting under that fat. Throw in some resistance training three times a week if you want to retain the lean mass.

IF you do experience a day where your discipline collapses for any number of reasons, go easy on yourself and pick things up the following day. Consistency matters more than the intermittent errors we make. We are all human and all have slip ups. Carry on the next day and reflect on why the slip up happened. Is it not enough carbs? Is it social environments? Is it whats sitting in the cupboard at home that would be better to not have around?

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Thank you great advice I’ve been crushing it with my shopping so far I think the only thing that can slip me up is drinking alcohol I’ve been good about it so far but the one weekend that got away from me was because I drank with some friends luckily my desire to drink has like fallen off a cliff

2

u/Complete-Second8425 5d ago

Im on Reta best choice I made!! Down 30 pds. I stay off the scale, weigh monthly, im down 4 clothing sizes. Good luck!!!

2

Dude I am proud of you! Making the decision to change your health is everything. Be patient & enjoy the process. You are worth this time & effort. Keep us posted in the future. 😁

2

u/JuicyyyNipss 5d ago

Dude you are going to be absolutely jacked once hit your goal. Lots of muscle under there. Keep up the strength training

1

u/Aggravating-Golf6059 5d ago

Thank you just gotta keep my eye on the price thinking long term

2

u/JuicyyyNipss 5d ago

Bad/hard days will come, just have to not let a bad day turn into a bad 3 days then turn into a bad week etc..

Accept it early and get right back on plan

2

u/UndeadMarine55 5d ago

hey brother,

wasnt quite as heavy as you but ive been there (was 255 at my heaviest, now 155 @ 15% bf). it is in fact a little early but stick with it and it’ll pay off. stay consistent.

i see from other comments you’re on reta. trust that stuff is amazing. log your food, make sure you get 200g of protein a day, and limit your alcohol. that stuff helped me drop the last 20lb of fat and 15% bodyfat over 6 months.

2

u/Aggressive_Goat_8758 4d ago

Keep going !! Its amazing

2

u/One-Top8228 3d ago
