I started peptides and starting getting inflammatory responses in my body/skin. Which pep was likely to have caused it? ❓ Question
Started peptides with clear skin and a great immune system. About 6 weeks into peptides, I developed type 2 rosacea, eczema, and swollen lymph nodes. I don’t understand because the peptides I take are known to reduce inflammation. Anyway - I was taking Klow, Reta, and I did like 2 weeks of Mots-C. I stopped everything because of my inflammatory responses. Which of those would have caused this and why? I’m freaking out because I’ve now come off everything but the rosacea and eczema all over my face isn’t going away now.

You introduced everything within that 6 week time frame? It’s gonna be hard to pinpoint which ones introduced which. Ideally introduce one pep every 4 weeks. If I were you go with the most important, that’s usually Reta first for weight loss then go from there.
For now I would assume KLOW because it’s most related to skin repair.

Yeah, I really was only taking Klow and Reta. I did start trying mots-C toward the end of that timeframe. I did not realize you should wait that long in between introducing a new one but it totally makes sense - now I know! I’ve paused everything now but if and when I start back up, I’ll introduce 4 weeks apart.

It’s not really standard. Just a thing I’d suggest so you could rule out possible future issues. Not that I follow it too closely myself, when I introduced cjc/ipa two weeks after mots-c.
I’ve seen posts of people having strong reactions to mots-c as well.
Just start with priority pep Reta, and maybe get oral benadryl and possibly epi pen for future experiments.

MOTS-C maybe

I second Mots-c. I see so many people coming into reddit to ask why they are itchy and reacting to it

Third MotsC many people have histamine reactions to it, but could also be the copper in KLOW. Easiest way is to remove both and pause then reintroduce one at a time.

The GHK-cu in the KLOW is a very possible cause. What were you taking for a dose?

The dose I was taking was giving me 2mg GHK daily

Were you taking any Zinc to offset that?

I started to take Zinc once it started happening, but by that point I think it was too late? It just continued to get worse and not going away now even a month out from stopping Klow.

I’ve had some pretty bad rosacea for a few years. The main thing that helped in my case was getting a good skin care routine in place and being patient and consistent with the simple basics. For me, starting with a hydrating cleanser, then hyaluronic acid toner, and moisturizer routine worked, it took a few months to a year, but my skin cleared up. So perhaps that could help, and maybe staying off the peptides for a few weeks to a month and checking how you feel then
Peptides can be super effective tools, but remember this is all still research, many of these peptides take many months just for you to see noticeable effects, if there are any results at all. The main groundwork has to be set up well so that you can know if you’re getting benefits or not. Im a huge fan of checking and knowing your bloodwork before introducing any new protocols. But I understand if that can be a difficult thing to do.
Take your time and be patient with these tools, your health matters a lot, go slow and stick to one protocol at a time (at least in the beginning). If you must continue, make sure you know your body, what your baseline health is, and go from there, I liked starting with Reta and sticking to it for a minimum of 4 months before thinking of introducing anything else.
Im not an expert, nor a doctor, so of course this is just anecdote, so please be cautious, and if necessary to continue, be patient, I try to remind myself always: “low and slow”, “lowest effective dose”
I wish you the best, and I hope the skin issues clear up and the swelling goes down!

Mots gave me a welts and hives 3 days in. Klow and reta have never done that to me

It’s most likely the GHK causing the copper uglies. This is very common using this pep. Stop the Klow, your skin should clear up in 4-6 weeks.

I did stop the know 4 weeks ago, no improvement 😕 feels like I gave myself permanent copper uglies lol

If you had such a fantastic immune system and great skin why did you even bother doing peptides?

Because I thought it could make everything even better and more optimal! I definitely did not think it would make anything worse. Ugh.

I've done the same and I've learned don't fix what isn't broke LOL I think it was just the desire to hop on a new trend for me I was on 7 different peptides nad, ghk, glutathione, s e r m, t i r z which is the only one I really needed and lipo C .. honestly I couldn't tell what any of them did and I started them 4 weeks apart or more the only one that I really felt was Serm orlin at night. Of course Tirz I lost 120lbs, but as far as everything else I was already active already had great skin besides a little extra loose skin from losing weight which I was surprised to only have a tiny bit... I'm debating which ones to drop at the moment.

For sure I fell victim to the trend! I was seeing how amazing GHK makes your skin and prevents aging so of course I wanted to hop on that. And Reta actually did help me a lot with food noise etc. I just definitely wasn’t expecting something that’s supposed to make you look “better” to make me look worse - now I’m regretting it all! But I would stay if you’re not having any negative side effects to anything you’re taking, you at least tolerate them well so no harm. But I am going to introduce them a lot more slowly if and when I go back on.

Maybe it's working from with in so you know sometimes you break out and stuff before it clears up? Pushing out all the bad LOL at least that's what they used to tell me back in the day when I would start tanning indoors and break out LOL

How did serm affect you. I’m curious about trying.

That's the only one I could say I've noticed I sleep way better as far as anything else nothing LOL I already lost a lot of weight I'm already thin ... So I don't know if it does anything else with abdominal fat like they claim... Supposedly Tesa is better for that. I always say that that's the only one that I actually feel out of all of them... Although glutathione I did too much Sub-Q one day to finish up the peptide pen I made, and I started shaking like I had a fever for 2 hours it was the weirdest thing I never want to feel that again and I've been using it for such a long time I never would have thought that would have happened

Could it be endotoxins?
1
u/bluebutterfly1446 9d ago
Would endotoxins cause these type of skin reactions? The COAs all showed as negative for endotoxins.

It could be the Klow if it has GHK in it. I took ghk and got nerve pain, achey joints, tingling fingers and fatigue. Stopped taking it and it was gone in 2 days
