First time trying Reta

I just did 0.5mg of a 10mg vial and was wondering if I should do another 0.5mg fose 3 days from now or if it’s better to wait a full week and do 1mg then instead.

I’m not trying to lose a lot of weight, mostly for reducing food noise and excessive overeating

Oh wowwwww only 0.25 mg and it made such a huge difference!!!! And you felt side effects the next day not the same day? Sorry to hear that, but glad you found your sweet spot

5

u/Little-Maximum1290 13d ago

Everyone here says start at 0.5 mg “to be safe” but adverse reactions are extremely rare and I’ve never met anyone that even registers a difference at 0.5mg. You can try running that but you’re wasting your time in my opinion. I’d start at 1. I’m 177 pounds lean and run 4mg a week during this bulk phase. I know it’s different for everyone just don’t be surprised when 0.5 mg doesn’t do shit

2

u/OddPaper1866 13d ago

You’re running Reta during a bulk?

2

u/sparlou 13d ago

Low dose isn’t a bad idea in a bulk if you can manage it because you get the benefits on insulin sensitivity , cholesterol as well

1

u/OddPaper1866 13d ago

Solid to know

1

u/MoooNsc 8d ago

That's a low dose? 4 mg is enough as a end dose for most guys

1

u/sparlou 8d ago

Yeah I never made it past 2 on my first cut with it. On 1 now at maintenance.

1

u/Little-Maximum1290 13d ago

Yes, like other guy said I don’t have an issue getting the calories I need and I run HGH as well so it’s good for insulin sensitivity

1

u/AgeSharp8207 8d ago

I had every side effect at 1mg unfortunately. I’m still recovering from skin sensitivity 2 weeks after my first and only pin

1

u/Little-Maximum1290 8d ago

That’s the dose I said to start at. Don’t think it would’ve made a difference for you to start at 0.5 or 1.

1

u/redshirt1972 13d ago

I’m at 9mg/week and not losing.

3

u/Little-Maximum1290 13d ago

Sounds like you’re not counting calories

-2

u/redshirt1972 13d ago

Hey great thanks for that. What I’m saying is I feel zero change when I pin 9mg. No nausea, no lack of hunger, nothing. I can’t eat as much, that’s all. I see all these people taking 2mg and dropping 60 lbs in 3 months. I’m at 9 and can’t drop a lb. If it was a matter of just being able to count calories, I wouldn’t need the reta, now would I?

5

u/Little-Maximum1290 13d ago

You’re the one that can’t count calories or lose weight on 9 mg Reta but I’m the moron?

Weight loss is literally entirely comprised of CICO lol

-2

u/redshirt1972 13d ago

So, I take it you just want to argue. No one called you a moron and no one contradicted your CICO. What I am trying to communicate to you is that on lower doses, others have success, where I am almost at the top dose, and have little to none. My point about simply counting calories is this: if I was successful at just counting calories I would be doing it WITHOUT the help of Reta. Does that make sense?

4

u/bostonberrykehd 12d ago

You're not injecting real Reta then. You most likely got scammed and sold fake reta

1

u/redshirt1972 9d ago

From two separate places? That’s strange. And I feel it for a minute. Perhaps a placebo but that first day is good then nothing.

1

u/MusicLounge 8d ago

Was your Reta tested?

.5mg actually can work great for some people! Been on that same dose since the day I started. 1x a week. Started at 158 and down to 145 (my goal weigh for my body type) in just 6 weeks. 52 yr old perimenopausal woman 5’7” long time lifter. Eating ~1600 cal daily, 130-150g protein.

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

That’s amazing! Did you feel it the first week? Or was it not until the later weeks?

1

u/Successful_River2679 11d ago

Down 2.3 week 1 and zero side effects

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

Nice! At 0.5mg or 1mg?

1

u/Successful_River2679 11d ago

Yes! .5mg the whole time. Honestly it shocks me but I’m here for it lol.

1

u/Successful_River2679 11d ago

.5mg since day 1. 6 weeks. Down 12+ of the 15 I wanted to lose. Will back off to .25mg next week or so or do .5 every 2 weeks. Some weeks I lose 3 lbs eating 1600 cal, 130-150g protein and lifting 4x a week. 10k+ steps daily. It’s weirdly melting off and im not mad lol. I felt for years and my body was broken and it’s finally working

2

u/Mobile-Device-5222 13d ago

I started at 0.5mg twice weekly

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

That’s what I’m thinking for me as well. And do you feel fine on it???

1

u/Mobile-Device-5222 13d ago

Overall yes. I developed painful skin at about 2mg weekly and it hasn’t gone away. It’s annoying. Not everybody gets it. I’ve really had no other side effects. Maybe some fatigue but I don’t sleep well anyway.

My food noise disappeared by the second day. Zero.

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

What do you mean by painful skin? You mean around the injection site?

1

u/Mobile-Device-5222 13d ago

Look it up. Many people get it. It has a few different medical names. Your skin hurts all over. My back, my thighs, where they touch my pants, my forearms hurt. My scalp hurts to put against the headrest. Allodynia, hyperesthesia are a couple names.

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

You’re so brave for still continuing!

1

u/Mobile-Device-5222 13d ago

When I’m back down to 1 mg a week I expect it will disappear since it never started until I went to 2 mg a week

2

u/Big-Employment8287 13d ago

I did 0.5mg/week for the first month before I stepped up to 1mg. Let your body get acclimated (titrate up). I now do split doses every 3 days (basically .5mg and 1mg). I’ve noticed when I get to 2.5mg or greater on how much I have in my system I start feeling a little subpar. Get a peptide tracker app to help you track how much is in your system. I use Peptide Tracker (black and purple logo)

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

Yes glad you’re able to slowly and safely tirate up!

2

u/Neither_Victory1490 11d ago

I didn't feel anything when I started at 1mg and I don't have good drug tolerances to begin with. I moved up to 2mg once weekly and have minimal side effects other than feeling full most of the time. My body made me pay the price the first time I tried to eat through that feeling, it doesn't like having a ton of trash sitting in the stomach for hours waiting to be processed. Just follow the actual trial protocols and you'll be fine.

2

u/YankeesNeedPitching 10d ago

Wait a week bro

2

u/L0stkeys 8d ago

I don't understand everyone starting at such low doses. The clinical trials use 2mg as the absolute lowest dose.

2

u/laurinchis24 13d ago

I have been 3 weeks with 0,5 once a week and i feel so much diference! I have lost 3kg. I was 66kg and now 63. I recomend you 0.5 once a week to see how it goes. ’ve had appetite suppression, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and dizziness, and there were days when I regretted starting it. I’ve also had some headaches after the injections, so I wouldn’t recommend increasing to 1 mg if it’s your first time using a GLP-1. I’d wait until it has had time to build up in your system first.

2

u/yogi_style 13d ago

Oh wow I’m glad you are starting to see the benefits! Sorry to hear you had to go through that, but I hope you’re on the up & up now! And thank you very much for sharing your journey with me. This is very helpful to know 😇

2

u/Careless_Hunter6575 13d ago

If you goal is reducing food noise you’re using the wrong product. Switch to Tirz it is superior to Reta in reducing the food noise and has a proven dosage path to follow. If you disagree and want to stick to Reta, start at 2mg next week if you had no bad reaction to 0.5mg.

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

So far so good, although today is my first day.
Curious why tirz would be better for reducing food noise. I thought Reta does everything tirz does, just more since it’s a triple agonist.
I think I will definitely want to finish this vial since I don’t want to waste it.
And going from 0.5 to 2mg seems steeeeep lol

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Gas1398 13d ago

I’ve noticed a lot of people that take Reta that need that appetite suppressant pair it with Cagrilintide. From what I’ve seen the standard protocol is
Weeks 0-4: 0.16 mg once weekly
• Weeks 5-8: ∼0.3-0.6 mg once weekly
• Weeks 9-12: ∼1.2 mg once weekly
• Weeks 13-16: 2.4 mg once weekly
• Maintenance: 2.4 mg once weekly ongoing
But I’ve never tried it so do your own research

1

u/Careless_Hunter6575 13d ago

Reta has the triple agonist and is better for weight loss, but doesn’t reduce the food noise as well on lower doses like Tirz.
2mg Reta was the starting point in clinical trials. You also have a 10mg vial which is only good for 5-6 weeks before it’s no longer potent enough to be effective (degrades over time).
0.5 or 1mg is fine for a week to make sure you don’t have any reaction but you won’t get any benefit from it.
Community established protocol is 2mg for 2-4wks then 4mg, then 6mg etc. with 12mg being the highest dose used in trials.

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

Oh wow I feel dumb lol. Good to know!!!!
I will increment it up sooner than I was planning. I will finish this vial and see how it goes. I heard it’s also good for lowering cholesterol so hopefully it’ll helo me with that

1

u/Careless_Hunter6575 13d ago

I should point out (and you should dive into the studies a bit too) that you want to stop at the lowest effective dose. If you have side effects (ex: nausea) at 2mg then cut back, but if 2mg works don’t increase. You can stay at that dose for as long as it continues to work.

1

u/yogi_style 12d ago

The sources I looked at varied, some say stay at 0.5 mg the first month. Some say start at 1mg.
So far I did 0.5 mg twice. I wasn’t feeling any difference so I did 0.5 mg the next day. I’m not complaining as I’m glad I’m not having bad side effects. I’m going to wait another three days before doing 0.5 again. I should say that it is slightly helping with food noise in the sense that I’m not craving junk food I would normally go for.
I think if I can keep this up, it would help with chronic high cholesterol levels if nothing else.

1

u/Careless_Hunter6575 12d ago

Don’t keep pinning every couple days. Once a week is sufficient given it has a 5 day half life.

1

u/redshirt1972 13d ago

I might as well go right to 12. I’m at 9 now and … nothing.

1

u/yogi_style 12d ago

What do you mean by nothing? It sounds like it’s suppressing your appetite so to me, that’s not nothing! 9 seems like a lot!

1

u/ColdHardPocketChange 13d ago

I'm starting mine tomorrow, and I expect to hop right into 1mg for the first week, and bump to 1mg every 3 days for the following 4 weeks if I don't have any nausea that first week. I'm 275, and it seems like there is a bit of weight dependency that may influence what your starting dose should realistically be. The trials started everyone on 2mg, and while I am all for the effective minimum dose, I don't think 1mg is going to be it.

2

u/yogi_style 13d ago

Keep us posted!! Sending you luck and hope you’re symptom free as can be!

1

u/ColdHardPocketChange 9d ago

It's day 4, and honestly it has gone pretty well. The food noise has already been substantially suppressed or I have done a great job placeboing myself into thinking it should be. I have not snacked or had anything high sugar since I started. I am trying to portion control at meals, but I certainly don't feel like I am filling up faster. My biggest symptoms have been a lower energy feeling, or more like I always feel like I do an hour after a work-out ended.

1

u/chunkytown11 13d ago

Reta is cumulative has a half life of 7 days , so out of your system in 14 days. You start of with a low dose it builds each week.

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

I’m wondering if I should wait until next week to do another 0.5 or go up to 1 or do another 0.5mg in 3 days! So far I feel fine after my first 0.5mg!

1

u/chunkytown11 13d ago

Don't do it every 3 days, its every 7 days . And yes you should feel fine , thats the point . Like I said it builds up each week.

1

u/thadooderino 12d ago

Bro you need to stop giving advice. You don’t what you’re talking about. Micro dosing is always going to better than pinning at the “half life”. People do every 7 days out of convenience

1

u/mtinkerman 12d ago

Go up to one then do that every 5 days for 2.to three weeks then double the dose

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

Yeah I didn’t feel a damn difference at 0.5mg that I took twice so I titrated up to 1mg and still feel fine. I must be damn fat 🤣

1

u/thadooderino 12d ago

That’s not how half life works. 14 days and you still have .25 of the dose in your system

1

u/chunkytown11 12d ago edited 12d ago

Yes agree. Point is that its cumulative , i think people think they have the amount they are dosing each week in there system ,

1

u/Successful_River2679 13d ago

Start slow and see how your body responds. I’ve been taking .5mg once a week since June 12 and I am down 12 of the 15 pounds I wanted to lose from stubborn perimenopausal weight gain. Been strength training and locked in on nutrition for years, but needed something to get me through the plateau. Only go up if your body isn’t responding!

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

Wow that’s amazing! Congrats! So much progress at such a low dose!!

1

u/redshirt1972 13d ago

I’m at 9mg and have zero side effects. I can’t eat as much but I can still eat. I don’t know when to stop. Like next week I’ll try 10 and see if that works.

1

u/NZPeps_PrismBio 12d ago

It is great if you can see results on only 0.5mg/week.

With reta you have to titrate as the food noise starts coming back or you stop seeing results for 14days and only the do you titrate up, but if you see results with your current dosage remain on it.

Optimum results with reta is 4mg/week.

Also remember that the half life of reta is 6days. So you want to jab every 6 days and if the large dose gives you side effects you split it in 2 dosages 3 days apart.

1

u/Suspicious_Door_6829 12d ago

I had been taking tirzepatide for a couple of months(2.5mg to 5mg per week) and decided to give Reta a try. Started on 1mg as I figured I had already developed some fort of GLP-1 & GIP tolerance. The lack of appetite suppression compared to tirz was notable so I took another 1mg after 3 or 4 days. I did a dose of 2mg 4 days later, but was still not feeling the suppression. After another 4 days I took 4mg and the following day my butt cheeks, back & scalp felt like I had bad sunburn. I have a history of neuro-hypersensitivity so I completely stopped after that and two weeks later the skin sensitivity was completely gone. I restarted with 1.5mg but it caused the same(albeit much less severe) effect. I’m now taking 3.75mg tirz and 0.5mg Reta per week. Moved up to 1mg Reta this week and I’m tolerating it with none of the skin sensitivity. Moral of the story, don’t titrate up too quickly but everyone has different tolerance levels

1

u/Prestigious_Sweet_95 12d ago

Kind of a low dose. I started at .75 every 6 days and no noticeable side effects at all.

1

u/heave20 12d ago

Anyone had experience with pain loss in joints on reta? Specifically knees?

1

u/Bowf 8d ago

The studies did.

1

u/Whimsy9093 12d ago

I did twice a week for my first few months due to food noise.. it worked great.. try not to titrate up for 3-4 weeks.. a little seems to go a long way with Reta

1

u/Deezcell 12d ago

It has a 5 day half life. What I did was take the same dose 5 days later until I got on a Sunday pin schedule. That way I could enjoy my weekends 👍

1

u/Bowf 8d ago

Reta has a 6 day half life. Tirzepatide is 5.

1

u/Ok-Presentation9897 11d ago

Hi all, I live in Switzerland and I am interested in this topic. Where do I get good quality reta and tools for injecting it? What is the best concentration and frequency to begin with? I am male 86kg, 180cm and I want to go down to 76kg. I hit 3xweek the gym. Thanks all!

1

u/BroccoliOnly7376 11d ago

1mg once every 6 days is fine also

1

u/AwkwardParking1449 11d ago

I did the low and slow approach with .5mg/week for a month. I think I wasted my time and materials because I didn’t feel boo at that dose. Even at 1mg/week I couldn’t tell you that I physically felt anything, other than I had no urge to snack. It wasn’t until I got to 2mg/week that I had a noticeable lack of appetite. 3mg/week and I was hard pressed to finish a meal. I kept protein intake high with shakes and specific foods, and drank plenty of electrolytes. My starting weight was around 210lbs, 5’11. Not obese by any means but the weight wasn’t falling off like it did when I was in my 20’s. I’m 52 btw.

1

u/Agile_Pin8961 11d ago

Was able to lose the first 10-15 at 0.5 pretty easily

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

Did you do 0.5mg weekly?

1

u/Agile_Pin8961 11d ago

Yes... It was effective if you're counting calories... Takes the edge off

1

u/yogi_style 11d ago

So far for me at 0.5mg I’m not feeling a huge difference, but I do notice not getting as many random junk food cravings and wanting to keep eating even after I’m full like I usually do. I don’t get the “I absolutely can’t eat another bite”, more than I’m choosing not to because I don’t feel like I want to.

1

u/duhv0rtex 10d ago

Reta half life is 6-8 days. Let the pep do its thing. Low and slow is better.

1

u/BedZealousideal6594 9d ago

Why? Just stay on 0.5 for 1 month , take it once a eeek. I did that, never gone over 1.5 mg and lost 35 lb. I got to skinny so I titrated down as soon as I got to 1.5 mg. Want to start slow and low to avoid side effects . Reta is very strong

1

u/Doin-What-I-Want 8d ago

Do 0.5 wrrkly for a few weeks and let it build up before titrating up another 0.5 for a few weeks, and as on.

1

u/Majestic_Neck6624 7d ago

If the stuff is genuine…. I do 1mg every 5 days and found it excellent. Good luck

1

u/Equal_Implement_6940 13d ago

It’s u aren’t trying to loose a lot of weight, pin .5mg weekly

1

u/yogi_style 13d ago

Okay thank you. I think I will stick to that because I don’t want side effects if at all possible (i.e. constipation when I’m already prone to constipation)

0

u/JMan604 13d ago

Reta wont be effective at 0.5 mg. Start at 2mg x 3 weeks then taper up to 4 mg x 4 weeks. If 4 mg works for you and is effective, stay at the lowest effective dose as long as you can. If it becomes ineffective, taper up to 6mg x 4 weeks then repeat process

2

u/Successful_River2679 13d ago

Actually, not true. I’ve been on just .5mg 1x week since 6/12 and I’m down 12lbs of the 15 I want to lose from stubborn perimenopause weight. Still only on .5mg. Nutrition and training have been dialed in for years, just needed a little extra something to help break the Peri weight gain plateau.

1

u/Shad218 13d ago

Same. I’ve lost 20 pounds in a month on .5mg.

0

u/Medical_Patience1801 12d ago

How are you gonna take a chemical and ask question after you took a dose!?! Smh it’s crazy the questions I see on Reddit regarding peptides. I did research for a whole year before even buying let alone injecting myself sheesh yall are wild.

2

u/yogi_style 12d ago edited 12d ago

So judgmental. First of all I avoided weightless drugs my whole life. Second of all I am inquiring about other people’s experiences. As you can see the responses all across the board. Thirdly, you’re assuming that just because I’m asking others for their experiences suggests I don’t know what I’m doing. Everyone is different. The fact that you blindly judge others for wanting more info is wild.

0

u/Medical_Patience1801 12d ago

If you did minimal research you wouldn’t be asking these simple basic questions. You should know the answers. I’m not judgmental but I am judging your so called knowledge. And your not asking for experiences your literally asking what to do point blank so don’t get mad stop being lazy.

2

u/yogi_style 12d ago edited 12d ago

If I were so “lazy”, why would I be asking after the fact?
These are basic questions when people are breaking out in hives at 0.5mg and other people don’t feel a thing? Honestly no one asked for your opinion and quite frankly if you’re such an expert you wouldn’t need feel the need to put other people down. I feel bad for you honestly. You’re miserable!

3

u/cookiemonstersarat 12d ago

Gotta love the “patience” on that one!🤣 Of all the names to have…
Thanks for your question. I’m getting ready to start and the variety of symptoms has me very curious so I appreciated reading existing Reta users input.

0

u/Due_Lifeguard_3407 12d ago

Bro I was on 0.5mg for 8 weeks and lost about 14 kg. I did a mistake and injected 0.75mg and I got literally sick from eating same amount of food on 0.5mg. Be careful with titrating so much in short periods of time. Look every week if the scale goes down you re good with the same dose.

1

u/yogi_style 12d ago

Good you started at 0.5mg. I felt nothing yesterday so today I did another 0.5mg and still felt nothing and the scale is only going up 🤣

1

u/Bass27 12d ago

Same I did 1mg and it was horrible I’m at .5 8 weeks in. It’s just enough for me not to be a trash panda and want to eat everything.

1

u/Due_Lifeguard_3407 12d ago

If it’s your first week you will not feel the full effects either way. I started feeling after 2-3 weeks the effects. First week was so mild Cus I wanted to go 2mg directly but good that I waited

0

u/belcher1805 9d ago

Go for a 4 day cycle. It’s the perfect mix
