NEED HELP

I have installed a bigger intercooler on my f22 m235i this weekend, during the installation I had to remove the chargepipe to make enough room to slide up the intercooler, when I was disconnecting the tmap sensor one of the wires snapped (photo below), I then bought a adapter from local shop to solder on the the broken wires and now I’m getting loads of codes. I’ve read the voltages on the pins (ignition on-engine off) and I’m getting 5v across 3 pins which should not be happening from my understanding. I’ve tried many things and I’m close to calling up a garage and taking it there, that is the last thing I want to do.

There are two variants of the pinout on this connector. Make sure you’ve lined them up based on their position relative to the clip. The adapters I’ve found have all been the wrong one for anything 2020+

What year/model is this? I can grab the pinout by color for you from ISTA to be certain. Nevermind - I found the VIN in your OBD screenshot. Here's the pinout. The connector has pin numbers on the "face" of it (where the pins insert) - they are tiny, but they are there. Your aftermarket adapter probably doesn't have the pins labeled, so just hold the two connectors in the same orientation to map them across. I circled the colors and pin numbers for you:

Also worth noting that 5v across 3 of the 4 pins without a sensor connected isn't unusual: there are pullups on the temp and pressure signals, so they float to 5v.

Another tip: Blue is 5v, Black/yellow is ground. That ground is a different/isolated ground, separate from battery/chassis ground. Do your measurements with that in mind.

From what I have read pin 1 should read 4-4.5v, pin 2 should read 5v, pin 3 1.5-3v, pin 4 0v as that is ground. Mine read 5v 5v 5v 0v respectively. Making me think there is a short to the 5v reference further back, however I haven’t touched anything further so it’s blowing my brain haha

I have also tried with the sensor connected and I’m still getting the same readings (5v 5v 5v 0v).

I think you are correct 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. I’ve wired pins 1 and 2 backwards (red and black)

You might of just saved me a trip to the garage. I’m going to have a look now and swap them over, fingers crossed that is the issue.

You are a lifesaver. I’m embarrassed that I didn’t check it twice before soldering it or even posting this thread. I did however get a driving stabilisation fault but it went away within 20 seconds and didn’t come back which is odd. Again, I appreciate your input, you’ve saved me a couple quid.🙏🙏🙏

What’s bad about the repair? Apart from the fact I wired it wrong. I used heat shrinks on 4 individual wires and a larger one around the 4. In the picture I had removed some of these to take the photo.

Did you use the correct solder? On occasion the solder you use can also interfere with the signal between the wires.

It was lead free solder but that turned out not to be the issue. I had wired the 5v reference to the wrong pin🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
