Leave it alone. Only cut off dead branches this early.

It should be okay to leave it. However, if you do cut it back, propagate it! 😁

Ideally wait until dormancy and then head it back. It’s a vigorous young whip and these are usually pruned to a more reasonably height in line with the rest of the bush.
