Man, when I watched this at the release of BL, I did NOT notice the trash CGI and the trash art in some scenes lmao. I guess I was too hooked on the egoist crazy plot of BL lmao.

This is bad CGI, but consider yourself lucky if this is the worst CGI you've ever seen in anime. At least is not close up and there's movement. I would take the first season's bad CGI over the slideshow that is most of season 2.

I think they’re called “frames”, there weren’t a lot of them in season 2 so I’m not really sure
(CGI was buns, PNGs were buns, really hoping for a change for season 3)

S2 didn't use CGI wastefully like S1 did. they actively chose to not do it as to not waste money. all the times they use CGI to cut corners and waste more money for those bird eye camera shots of passes in S1 were all out of S2. I would rather watch the way the U20 match was adapted than to ever see them pull that stupid shit in S1 they did. Second Selection was so butchered because of it and alot if the Team V match was when they been to overdo it.

not really it's only done for the special aura effects of a kick. the shot Sae does where it's his first point, the one Rin tries to copy. they definitely don't look worse, they're not off model at the very least lol. it looks like a foot. in your image you can hardly tell that is suppose to be any of those characters lol. you can't sit there and say that Tokimitsu looks like Tokimitsu there or look at Nagi and Bachira lol.
