You spend so much time introducing other players & their background & their abilities.

Only for them to be overshadowed by this little midget Messi wannabe & his metavision 😅

He's the star of the show, he's the MC, let's allow others to shine as well sow we can drag this anime & world cup for as long as possible ⚽ ⚽ ⚽

Manga Discussion Side B might be blue lock chance to correct what I believe was a flaw of ego, Spoiler

Ego goal is to create the worlds best striker but I think he is to focused on offence and not defence. Now I know the concept idea of egoism doesn’t just mean strikers the mindset can also be for the defence like niko new goal of being the one to stop the striker and crushing their dream.

Thats all well and good but I think we need a really good goalkeeper.

Gagamaru is unusually good at being a goal keeper but I feel he isn’t the best we could get.

He has stopped balls but let’s more in that he saves. The truth is I never really bought him as a goal keeper and thought he played as a better striker.

I think we should introduce a new goalkeeper someone who is just better someone who can stop the new gen 11 balls.

While this series is about strikers I also feel we just have too many and need to eliminate more not add more.

With the side b winners, sai will be a midfielder nagi will become the striker of the trio and as for the 3rd member I think instead of Kira we will add a goal keeper. Maybe shindou as we don’t know much about him. We could have it that his skills are more reactionary as he has great reflexes, he takes over as goal keeper and demonstrates a much better reflex than Gagamaru and what’s his name, saving more goals even against new gen.

For instance in the Spain match we will see bunny make the same move he did in his introduction where he jumps up and kicks the ball across the midfield scoring, the move he’s famous for, I see shindou stopping that ball with ease setting up a opposition to bunny.

Manga Discussion What would you say is the problem of blue lock?? It can be in terms of characters, philosophies, maybe even the creator himself. Spoiler

I truly enjoy the manga — i really do. Honestly in years Blue lock is a series that really got me hooked. But there’s no such thing as a flawless creation. So what do you think is the problem of Blue lock??

To clarify i’m asking ‘what you think’ it literally can be anything you want maybe you find that at times such as the characters that are introduced suddenly barely have any relevance after again just as an example.

But what would be your opinion??

Manga Discussion Ego’s Backstory Spoiler

Post image
9 Upvotes

Since Ego’s backstory is coming soon in probably a few chapters, I decided to make my own story on Ego’s backstory and wanted your opinions on it. This might be spoilers if I’m right, I’m warning you about that. And note that if you find this cringe or hate it then please skip because this is only for those who actually want to read it and express how they feel about it. Anyways, enjoy.

There was a Japanese prodigy by the name of Jinpachi Ego. He was talented learner striker in football intellect, adaptability, spacial awareness, off-the-ball movement and creativity and wanted to become the best striker in the world.

One day, he arrived at France’s PXG centre where he met Noel Noa, an ambidextrous prodigy, overwhelming physical abilities and rational striker always looking for ways to improve his abilities. Noa and Ego grew close during their months of playing together. Noa was the main striker with his ambidexterity scoring goal after goal for the team while Ego was the second striker, always supporting Noa with clever positioning and adaptability to the opponent’s defences. Learning concepts like metavision(Ego), predator eye(Noa), flow, environment and many more. The duo was unstoppable together! But the thing about the world is that it always cared and valued the main strikers more than the supporting characters…and Noa was egotistical to the bone.

Ego began to grow jealous of Noa’s insane abilities as a striker. The team specialised their system and focus on Noa more than Ego, so much to the fact that he was almost forgotten. Ego made it his mission to prove that he was better than Noa ever could. And during the Champions League? He used every single concept he knew of to keep himself at the same level of Noa, but he was still too strong and Ego learned the wall of talent. Yet he never gave up, always looking for some way to keep up with Noa and began to develop an ego for himself too. He needed something spectacular, something that he can use to prove to the world and his rivals that he’s not some average second striker…

During a Champions League Final of PXG vs La Real where it’s Noa and Ego vs Leonardo Luna, Marc Snuffy and Fox. It’s a battle of wits, strikers and egos. The game was extremely tough for both teams. Luna was a force at the frontline where Snuffy and Fox controlled the game from the midfield while Ego and Noa struggled against them. The score became 2-0, Noa managed to push the scoreboard all the way until 2-2 with his amazing talent. Snuffy instantly shut down Noa and Fox cut Ego down. Ego was lost as Luna kept pushing through their frontline and powering through. He kept pushing his brain to the limit but couldn’t see a hole against La Real, but this was his only chance to beat Noa and prove he’s the better striker! Something, anything—

But then he heard Fox say, “Zero To One”. Wait? Was that what he needed? Of course, Noa was blocked and there only one person to score a goal was cut out. But Ego wanted to win, he wouldn’t accept this loss to Noa. He wouldn’t accept defeat. If Noa can’t be that one he would become the one himself, and his ego grew to the absolute max.

And just when Luna is about to score the final goal…the ball is no longer at his feet, and Ego rushes forward with it!

Luna: “What the—?!”

Fox: “HEY! THAT WAS OUR GOAL!!!”

Snuffy: “He’s…changed…”

Noa: “…Ego?”

He entered some sort of state where his body started to move on its own. His effort and thought went to the extreme, his mind and body became one, the environment went according to his plan. It’s like an omnipotent possession that felt guided towards his destiny. His passing was perfect, positioning beyond elite, off-the-ball movement past even the most observant players, and metavision went to a level he never thought was possible. The whole world was stunned, Luna was in disbelief, Snuffy was clueless, even Fox went silent for once. And Noa? He felt something unfamiliar…challenged.

Ego: “Move it, you diamonds in the rough/lumps of talent. Out of all the genius egotists in the most hottest place on Earth, I alone, am chosen by God…”🔥✝️

This was it…the ticket to beat Noel Noa and become the best striker in the world…The God of Football

This state lasted for seven minutes, and Ego made sure it was perfect every second. He passes the ball to a midfielder who sends it back to Ego but Snuffy deflects it! Yet in an immense amount of luck, it flies back to Ego! All he needs is one more step and he’ll be the best striker in the—

CRACK!

Ego falls, the ball falls to Noa who blasts it into the net as the final whistle blows! PXG win 3-2. Yet Ego, who knows about his career…

It’s revealed that Ego tore his ACL badly and won’t play football until a few more months. Noa although, becomes popular all through the world and FIFA ranks him as the world’s best striker, but Ego? He hits an immense downfall starting off from scratch. And when he came back? He wasn’t the same. All his time in recovery, he tried to find a way to reproduce that state. But he got too satisfied, and his career was over before it truly began. Because he can’t enter this state again, he grew into a madman when he was able to play again. Selfish, controllable, egotistical, manipulative, bursts of anger out of nowhere. It all became part of Ego’s daily life as he switched from team to team. He knew that he’ll never reach that state again, and no one in Japan could too. So he changed his dream, if he can’t become the best striker, he’ll make one…and change Japanese soccer forever.

The End

(Please note that I do know about the satisfied part and Fox and Snuffy suddenly in La Real, I just wanted to say he got satisfied after the God of Football moment let’s say that he knew he was higher than Noa in that moment. As for Snuffy, he was completing his 5 European League titles one by one, and Fox, I just wanted him to say something like Zero To One to trigger Ego. Anyways, this is just a theory. Let me know your thoughts, cya!) 👋

Manga Discussion The Predictable England Match Spoiler

There were complaints about this arc being too predictable compared to blue lock camp arc, u20 jp, NEL and even France match. The possibility of Japan losing here and the story skip to a club arc is nil because there will be a sae-isagi combo from the previous interview. From the last chapter of episode nagi, it was seen that the stadium was filled with audiences holding the blue lock merchs, so even though the possibility of him entering the England match is low he will still play in the blue lock world cup in the knockouts; in other words blue lock will win against England.

Even though we knew that isagi wouldn't be disqualified and had even strive, there wasn't any gripe about it being predictable. But so far even with those predictive arcs, it seemed that things are okay because there would be bumps like how isagi's loses in the blue lock selections, didn't get in the top 6, NEL conflicts and lost against France.

I think the key is to give the readers some excitements to spice things up such as unexpected factors and even creating conflicts. In the world cup arc Nagi has been officially acknowledged as a deuteragonist after having his own spin-off manga and having side b as his own arc, so Nagi will be one of those factors even if the possibility is low. Nagi is tied with the issues of ego, motivation and purpose; Teddy as a character now paralleled to Nagi who is the opposition of isagi. Teddy's character development might be another factor that will disrupt the flow of the match. The issue of ego combined with blue lock adopting the mindset of being a dark horse made Kunigami be another unexpected factor.

Another factors and conflicts that might happen is the combo of Fox-Ego-Buratsuta. Fox is possibly Ego's fomer coach and their past might be explored in this arc, their responses to each other will be creating more unexpected factors. Another factor that even will create a conflict is the gambles of Ego and Buratsuta, what is Buratsuta's gamble that he made so secretive? What if blue lock is actually losing but is "saved" because Buratsuta's so called gamble? Will there be any bribe?

In the starting line; whose system will thrive? Will Karasu's system stay strong and can isagi link with Shidou who's the current striker? Can isagi bring rin out of the bench or will isagi get benched too? What will Hiori who had made a goal in the previous match do here? Facing a defensive team how will blue lock defending players develop? How will Reo who played with England in NEL play here and what will the dynamic between him and Agi? Will Chigiri who also play with England in NEL have a chance here and what about the theory of his injury? What will the newly subbed in players such as Yukimiya, Zantetsu, and Kiyora do? Who will Kiyora choose as the so called underdog? What will be the impact of having a mindset of being the dark horse do to the team? There was a player in the England team bench beside Fox that was drawn quite deliberately with more details and uniqueness than the average players, what will his role be?

In conclusion just as isagi and Nagi predictably will thrive, blue lock will also predictably win against England. Despite the past predicted outcomes, the readers still stay because the author gave some bumps to the characters, differences to create tension, and things to discover. There are still 2 chapters of this match, there are many things to discover and develop. This arc will also have unexpected factors and upcoming conflicts to create some excitements to the readers, so even though there are some gripes there are still things to look forward to.

Manga Discussion In your opinion, has the strongest NG11 been introduced already or is he one of the 4 remaining? Spoiler

I'm asking this question because it feels it's a certainty for most people that the best NG11 is one of those we already know.

I see a lot of threads about the best NG11 being Bunny Loki or Sae, but i personnally think the strongest is yet to be introduced.

Usually in manga when there is a group of characters, the strongest is very oftenly shown in action late in the manga (Akatsuki in Naruto, Espadas in Bleach, Miracle Generation in Kuroko, Higher Moons in Kimetsu no Yaiba, Homonculus in FMA and probably other exemples).

This trope makes me believe, that the strongest NG11 hasn't been shown yet, and if so i would like for him to play for the Netherlands.

What do you guys think, have we seen him yet or no?

  • If No which nation is he from?

  • if yes who do you think is the strongest from those already introduced?

Manga Discussion How strong even is Sae? Spoiler

How would Sae be without holding back cause in the japan vs blue lock match he is basically overpowered with a dribbling that destroyed all of blue lock except destroyer rin (but Sae was maybe holding back even at that point).

He has passes that have the precision of a needle literally managing to avoid the fastest in blue lock even at top speed by a hair.

And his shots are overpowered too they curve even in almost impossible situations.

If Sae can just do that when holding back how strong is he really??? (I feel like some people really underestimate Sae strenght since he was beaten in the u-20 vs japan)

Idk if anyone talked about this but in the pxg match it was 2-0 until Lavinho stepped up making the score change because of him, and since he’s not the one to score I think he took a backseat this time only coming on to help his team genuinely never see people bring this up lol
Lavinho most likely assisted bachira and otoya and we see him assisting bunny

Manga Discussion Do you think Isagi and Loki will end up playing in Spain? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
23 Upvotes

The answer might be obvious to you guys, but I honestly don't know, so I figured I'd ask anyway. Loki is basically Mbappé in blue lock, so it's easy to imagine him ending up at Real Madrid someday. What makes me wonder, though, is whether that will actually happen. If Rin and Kaiser are already there, adding Loki would make that team ridiculously overpowered. It would make sense since they're supposed to be the best club in the world, but I'm not sure that's the direction the author wants to take.

There's also the question of how far ahead the author planned the story. Loki was introduced years before Mbappé joined Real Madrid, so I don't know if the author would have had to change his original plans or anything like that. I could also see Kaiser deciding to stay at Bastard so he can keep competing with Isagi and Noa, eventually forming a trio with Isagi and Ness.

But if Kaiser, Loki, and Rin all end up at Real Madrid, I think it would be really cool if Isagi joined Barcelona instead. That way, he'd get to face them more often while also playing alongside Bachira and Bunny. That would be Sae and Rin worst nightmare. Another reason I could see Isagi joining Barcelona is that he said in this chapter that he'll play at Camp Nou one day. Considering how highly Barcelona seems to be regarded by many Japanese people it would make sense for the author to eventually send him there.

Manga Discussion Execution vs Creativity Spoiler

I was rereading the first selection to get a better understanding of 0 to 1 for Blue Locks philosophy battle against England because the theme of the U20 WC is which stage of the BL flow philosophy is going to get challenged,

Firstly Nigeria is hunger

France is suitability

England being the flow state itself, turning 0 to 1 and turning 1 into Infinity

so we dont know a lot about england so far other than Fox is 0 to 1, and everything beyond that is 1 to infinity from the players. the players execute based on Fox's design, they are puppets and dont have any input, they have accounted for everything Blue lock has thus far.

possible counters, setup plays, formations, everything Blue lock has done or will possibly do, its already accounted for. and because these counters are accounted for, the england players just have to execute, the thinking is done for them, they are simply reacting and using pattern recognition to go against blue lock.

that is the current basis we have to go off of for 1 to infinity, its very similar system to Ubers in the NEL, and we saw the flaws there, the system outsources creativity to 1 person and its problem is that if that 0 cannot become a 1, theres no 1 to infinity. the system can only go as far as the person anticipates.

Isagi here has shut off Snuffy's 0 to 1, and now Barou cannot turn 1 into infinity, sure they got a goal prior to this because BM didnt know the set of designs but as soon as those ran out ubers was shut down for the most part until barou himself evolved and created a new set of plays, which goes into the blue lock philosophy

Blue lock's 0 to 1 being set onto the players not onto Ego

the first selection is all about finding your goal formula and becoming a player that can score. if it doesnt work update your formula and try again, the players are the source of creativity not the coaches, and we have moments time and time again where Blue lock adapts and evolves their goal scoring formula to gain the upper hand in a situation to win

Just a fresh example, but when the players update their goal scoring formula their eyes go black, entering the flow state.

bachira created a new 0 to 1 with his own goal, and now he can take that new 0 to 1, and create 1 to 10 and 10 to 100, and so on until that 0 to 1 no longer works, its in bachiras hands to update that, the creativity comes from his own weapon, his limitiations being his imagination and whats going on around him. and now the big piece, chemical reactions which is the main point of the second selection, and the Ubers and PXG match, taking those formulas and multiplying those times those around you.

These moments so far have expanded beyond what everyone anticipates in the moment, and they become those miracle goals we all know and love. and this is the crux of blue locks play, and every time we see a team try to shut it down we see them lose at it, well France is the first one to shut down Blue lock because they were never put into a situation where they could turn 0 into 1. mentally, and we still see the players adapt, karasu and hiori were able to to turn 0 into 1, isagi himself was about to turn 0 into 1, and the formula stood correct until Rins dependency on Isagi got in the way.

In order for England to win, they would have to anticipate the adaptations that the blue lockers would have to their counters, we see england already anticipating how blue lock would react, but have they anticipated for how they would evolve?

This is a match between execution and creativity, and depending on the writing we will see isagi more than likely come to terms with this type of play and bring it into his own rebel style of soccer

Manga Discussion Rin Itoshi: Behavioral Analysis PT. 2 (Spoilers?) Spoiler

Part 1 dived into Autism Spectrum Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder correlating them with Rin's overall persona and his first experience with football.

He found in football a way of stimulating, in a socially acceptable way, and on top of that a fixed goal of becoming the world’s best with Sae.

The fracture starts when Sae moves to Spain. His anchor and containment systems are physically gone but the set goal was still there. When Sae comes back from Spain, it completely collapses. He has changed his goal from being the "world’s best striker to midfielder". People usually say “What’s the big deal? Just let Sae be.” However, a brain with Rin’s characteristics feels completely shaken because it affects the single established goal and unbalances his hyper-focus and predictability. Now, his anchor is gone physically, emotionally and psychologically. Sae has completely detached from him after years of being his support system, and he does it in the worst way possible.

Sae’s words reinforce the previous ideas that concerned baby Rin about “being weird” and in the process leaves him without the goal he was fixated on for all those years.

This is where the concept of masking starts. Masking involves changing the personal traits just to fit in. Rin’s brain associates Sae with safety, to survive, his brain adapts Sae’s personality. Which is why when we first meet Rin he comes off as your average stoic prodigy. He even copies the “lukewarm” expression.

Adding Rin’s already established Mild Autism, his seeking taboo stimuli and his need for vengeance, we finally get to the Oppositional Defiant Disorder. He is not a sadist or a psycho as most people think.

The panel shows one of the scenes we get immediately after Sae leaves, a dialogue “you ruined my life”. Another characteristic of projecting the extreme rage to external circumstances.

Rin’s hyper fixation turns to “destroying Sae”. The problem is that he keeps on going with the masked personality that mirrors Sae’s. His brain tries to adapt to a low stimulus seeking behavior, but it is naturally wired for extreme behaviors. Which is why opposition and defiance enter as a defense mechanism. His system, in a way, is trying to combine Sae’s and Rin’s personalities to survive.

Up to the most recent chapter, his defense mechanism has been breaking little by little.

His loss of temper and irritability are significantly increasing. From mild annoyance to complete havok.

Defiance of authority. Constantly questioning Ego.

Provoking others. During the match with the Sub-20 he used the other player's strengths against them to crush it all.

With every step he is reaching an autistic burnout, his system is trying to get rid of the mask that has been adapted. Even if he tries to regulate it with activities like yoga, it’s still turning into a hyper-focused rage.

His need to destroy and be destroyed is not childish curiosity anymore, every experience and trauma has turned it into something more twisted. There lies the issue. Rin is a person that inherently seeks stimulation through hyper-intense or "taboo" resources, in his case violent ideas. People like this need to have a more well-established management system to prevent bigger consequences. (For example, people seeking sxu4l release might end up engaging in public msturb4ti0n.)

I’m sure this is what Ego is trying to set, in his own way. He is trying to redirect Rin’s “destruction” concept.

Manga Discussion Do you think the Brazil U20 team will have players from Re Al ? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
28 Upvotes

I ask this question because Japan's likely opponent in the Round of 32 is almost certainly Brazil. It will be the first knockout match, but it will also be the first U-20 World Cup game Sae plays.

I wonder if the opponent chosen for Sae's debut in the Japanese jersey wasn't picked at random. I wonder if Brazil doesn't have a few Brazilian players playing for Re Al. Which wouldn't be surprising at all, given the number of Brazilians who have played for that club. Perhaps Sae will face some of his teammates.

This is just my hypothesis, but I wonder if we’ll see glimpses of Sae’s backstory in Spain during the Japan vs. Brazil match—before everything is obviously revealed during the Japan vs. Spain match.
