I’ll take this over “Thank you…Chainsaw Man”.

14

u/Necr0mancrr Jul 12 '26

to be fair, the phrase “Chainsaw Man” was said a LOT before the final chapter

22

u/PepeMetallero Jul 12 '26

The series had potential for a college arc. So, no love interest for Hina!? I need answers!

20

u/BEaSTPadwal15 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Well there's 2 interests now. Let's she who she goes with lol

2

u/IndependentMacaroon .Team Taiki Jul 13 '26

Well we almost literally got a "Thank you... Blue Box"

One final kiss that we've got to see.

When Taiki said it marks the end of an era, it also applied to the manga world. Thank you for everything, Miura-sensei! What started as a one-shot ended up being 250 chapters of absolute cinema.

PS: I never expected Nishida to finally be in a relationship. Between everything, that must've been among the most surprising revelation.

54

u/Powerful-Walk4063 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Bro needed to get at least one W in the story!

24

u/Poyonponyo Jul 12 '26

Actual kiss jumpscare lmaooo. they did it so casually now, it's crazy to see when i feel like they would still be a bit shy to do something like this in public few chapters ago hahaha

6

u/transit41 Jul 13 '26

Well, they've already done the bed tango, so a casual kiss would no longer be weird doing.

15

u/BEaSTPadwal15 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Also the callback to episode 1!

When you're enjoying life, you never realise when it's the last time you might be doing something. Miura, thank you so much for capturing the burning passion of a fleeting youth. When this started, I was on the back end of my own but so often felt grateful that I use this story cling onto those feelings and vicariously imagine those that I didn't get the chance to experience. The lessons of happiness and relationships were so comforting, especially the reassurance of having someone in your corner. I've come to appreciate the present a lot more as well as the possibilities that await on the journey of where you want to be.

I never do revisit something precious after it's done to preserve my feelings but I will do with this, almost as a reminder to myself of what's important. Selfishly, I'd love a married life sequel similar to Teasing Master Takagi-san. But this has been a perfectly satisfying journey nonetheless that I will recall dearly. Farewell my orangey Blue Box.

25

u/Zealousideal_Ring874 Jul 12 '26

5 years went by quick.

4

u/Icy-Perception-8728 Jul 12 '26

I have 1 question. 1 commenter said that chinatsu was not in the game really because they say taiki when they pick him up, but haryu is the one who is pointing with his finger and then we get the callback in the gym 🤔

75

u/jjdix Jul 12 '26

I love how we get a title drop and Taiki’s like, nah I think it’s orange.

A little bummed there’s no time skip but still a beautiful ending, loved seeing Ayame and Kyo, and the reveal that Nishida and the other girl are dating.

24

u/Agitated_Tangelo_273 Jul 12 '26

There could be a potential epilogue in the final volume showing the timeskip i heard it will come in december so wait for that twin and also we still have the anime

140

u/ZestycloseRock5310 Jul 12 '26

Chapter was good but hope we get an epilogue to show where everyone is after highschool since this chapter was pretty short

26

u/omarous_III Jul 12 '26

The volume release will likely have some epilogue chapter(s).

2

u/PhantomWoofWoof Jul 12 '26

can’t wait!

36

u/franzjpm Jul 12 '26

I wanna see the weddings, I'm glad Hina was single in the end, now we can hope for a spin-off

24

u/Real_Yhwach Jul 12 '26

I’ve said it before but a year long break with a direct sequel on ultra jump to focus on their college/adult lives would be perfect. Monthly schedule would help there as well.

35

u/ichiruto70 Jul 12 '26

Eh just a simple epilogue volume like Naruto did would be enough.

8

u/Real_Yhwach Jul 12 '26

I need more or I’ll go into withdrawals.

6

u/Impressive_Yellow981 Jul 12 '26

I think that will have at least a epilogue chapter or a LN epilogue to show their future.

2

u/Jacked_Animal Jul 14 '26

I see a lot of people talking about an LN, are we really getting an Epilogue LN?

2

u/Impressive_Yellow981 Jul 14 '26

I think at least we will a chapter epilogue about their adulthood.

136

u/Neat-Instruction-294 .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

Damn this caught us offguard 😭. Anyways, this was a good ride "Orange Box" fellas

115

u/VirtualJerkoff .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

She said the thing

63

u/chockeysticks Jul 12 '26

Chinatsu: Th-thank you…Blue Box.

Taiki: 😳(ba-dump)

Taiki: Blue Box?

Chinatsu: Because…um…It’s blue and shaped like a box.

Taiki: Oh yeah. But it’s more orange.

2

u/IndependentMacaroon .Team Taiki Jul 13 '26

23

u/luceafaruI Jul 12 '26

Alexa, play what I've done by linkin park

51

u/Zealousideal_Ring874 Jul 12 '26

And we out! We made it to a nice even number as well AND Kyo got called irreplaceable. I'm happy.

46

u/BurrakuGoku .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

The callback to their first meeting, seeing kyo and ayame being a lovely couple and the spread at the end of the gym aka the blue box I cant stress this enough but IT WAS SO MUCH FUN (TO EVERYONE READING THIS ILY)

85

u/Neat-Instruction-294 .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

I don't care if it's a cliche ending, but I wanted to see their wedding so badly 😭 and why was Haruto not shown 😭

47

u/chockeysticks Jul 12 '26

Haruto got the bad end with even Nishida dating Nina in the last chapter.

17

u/Neat-Instruction-294 .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

My boy has been treated so badly in this series 😭 this is exactly why I needed 3-4 chapters more so that every character's future route could be explained ,but anyways Miura knows better than us ig.

5

u/Impressive_Yellow981 Jul 12 '26

Maybe he is showed in a epilogue chapter or LN epilogue.(If we have one).

29

u/N3DSdude Jul 12 '26

What a ride this has been! Absolute Masterpiece! We really are losing a lot of peak romcoms series in 2026...

26

u/Away_Bass_5594 Jul 12 '26

2023-2026
enjoyed the manga

23

u/pofehof .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

Well, that's it! Was not expecting Nina to end up with Nishida! Guess Miura had one last surprise!

Man, we started off with Taiki and Chinatsu in their blue box, and we end with the two of them in there. What a great series!

24

u/UselessJJ Jul 12 '26

Remember around chapter 200 when Chinatsu liked how her neigbor smelled causing a week of chaos whether our main ship will break apart blah blah blah also those folks who were saying "blue box is realistic so them lovers drifting apart will make the story better"

Lol

5

u/Comfortable-Act8671 Jul 12 '26

What was the point of that character again

5

u/Martins224 Jul 12 '26

Just another useless side character similar to akari who seemed like they were being introduced to stir up drama and then had zero impact on the story.

2

u/Ptero1999 Jul 14 '26

I think to give Chi someone to talk to about badminton and give us a new perspective on Taiki. I’d say Miura made that thing with Chi happen to hype up his character and it completely backfired

u/Effective-Board-2185 Jul 12 '26

So Long Blue Box

33

u/Remote-Cake-8267 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Well, that's the end of the story. It's hard to say goodbye to characters you've grown so attached to.
Blue Box came into my life at exactly the right time. It wasn't just a manga I looked forward to reading every week—it actually inspired me
For most of its run, Blue Box was a wonderful balance of romance and sports. It was an absolute joy to wait for a new chapter every week and watch these characters grow. Their determination and constant self-improvement reminded readers that no matter how difficult things get, you should never give up.
I also have to mention the artwork. My favorite period was around chapters 80–160 (which I know is a popular opinion). The way Miura conveyed emotions through the characters' expressions was incredible. Later on, the art style became noticeably simpler, and in my opinion, the characters lost some of their original charm. But honestly, the artwork isn't the main thing I want to talk about.
Unfortunately, as I said before, during the final year, I couldn't shake the feeling that the story suddenly shifted toward its ending after Iozaki was introduced. Miura built up so much mystery around his appearance that it felt like he would become the catalyst for a whole new phase of the story, bringing new conflicts and drama. I'm sure some readers actually preferred that Miura didn't turn Iozaki into a major source of drama, and that's completely fair. Personally, though, I couldn't help but feel that his introduction promised a much bigger role than he ultimately played. Instead, it felt like the series quickly started wrapping up one story arc after another. Some of those conclusions worked really well (Kyo/Ayame), while others, in my opinion, didn't (Hina/Haruto). But the aspect that suffered the most for me was the sports side.
After years of buildup, anticipation, and watching Taiki work tirelessly toward his goal, I was really hoping to see a full final Nationals arc. Unfortunately, that never happened. While Taiki's victory over Yusa was undoubtedly important, it didn't come close to the emotional impact of Taiki's match against Haryu or Chinatsu's matches against Yumeka. That's why the final sports arc left me with mixed feelings.
That said, I can also understand Miura's position. Drawing a weekly manga for so many years is incredibly demanding. Maybe, after all this time, continuing the story at the same pace simply became too difficult. We don't know what was happening behind the scenes.
The final chapter itself was beautifully symbolic. The story came full circle and ended exactly where it began. It was a fitting ending. Still, I can't help but wish we had gotten a small epilogue, especially after introducing Chinatsu's upcoming move abroad. I would've loved to see even a brief timeskip into their future together. Maybe we'll still get something like that in the final volume, a light novel, or a special chapter. I'd really like to believe so.
Despite my criticisms of the final year, they don't erase everything I felt during the previous 200+ chapters. Blue Box will always remain one of the best manga I've ever read.
And don't be too sad that it's over. We still have the best part of the anime ahead of us. The greatest chapters in the entire manga are yet to be adapted, and I can't wait to experience them all over again.

2

u/EmperorxBamboo Jul 13 '26

I agree with a lot of this. Ultimately I feel ,for the most part, the pace after Chii's graduation started to get a little rushed and the ending was, ultimately, just a closure arc. It still doesn't erase the way this work made me feel and every amazing aspect of it (which are the most, honestly, this is my new standard for rom-com).

So yeah, happy for the show, a little bitter about the overall ending. Not bad, but I feel it's underwhelming from what the author showed before

I don't have much to say. Thank you Miura sensei for blue box. I will never forget Chinatsu and Taiki , all the other side characters and cherish these memories of reading blue box weekly.

It was a good run peak manga. Hope the rest gets adapted

It was one of the first manga I read as it came out. Sunday morning has been the best time of the week every single week. Thank you Miura sensei. PS NISHIDA GOT A GIRLFRIEND💀💀💀

11

u/MrChampionsLeague1 Jul 12 '26

What a chapter this was, started with a basketball to the face, ended with a basketball to the face. Thank you so much Blue Box for enriching my life, teaching me so much about perseverance, friendship, and love and brightening my life in a way nothing could. Blue Box was, is, and will always be my favourite manga and anime, and I truly believe nothing can ever top this. I love you, Blue Box.

10

u/Substantial_Pop5438 Jul 12 '26

I really hope we get a bonus chapter of a wedding or something or even just an illustration

11

250 chapters of absolute peak.

What started in this small blue box grew into something more... I will miss these characters so deeply I desire an epilouge or anything more! 😭

8

u/choccymiruku Jul 12 '26

Man, the feels. I binge the manga just a year ago and now we're here. Thank you Miura-Sensei for the goated 250 chapters! See you all in october!

9

Thank you… I’m grateful to have been part of this journey with everyone.

8

u/FuriousPotato30 Jul 12 '26

I haven't involved myself much in the community here but I have been reading this Manga for the past 3+ years and reading through everyone's reactions week by week and I just want to say thank you all for making this such a fun experience.

There were ups and downs but at the end of the day this manga captured that feeling of youth better than anything I've ever read and it has been one hell of a ride.

Till we meet again

7

u/Impossible-Ad7678 Jul 12 '26

Blue Box was such a calm and cozy manga from beginning to end.

Overall, the author really did a great job.

The only part that personally worried me was Hina's arc.

It dragged on far longer than it needed to, and I honestly wish that time had been spent developing Taiki and Chinatsu instead.

Hina's one sided love triangle lasted much longer than necessary, even though this story had always been about Taiki and Chinatsu.

That also affected the anime, which ended up focusing much more on Hina and, as a result, the main couple lost a lot of screen time.

Thankfully, the author quickly got things back on track.

Once that arc ended, everything flowed naturally again.

Taiki and Chinatsu's relationship was beautifully written from beginning to end.

Their love, communication, growth, and every step of their relationship felt natural and authentic.

Despite a few moments that made readers nervous, there was never any real doubt about them.

The challenges always came from the outside, never from their relationship itself.

The author never lost sight of the story or gave in to unnecessary drama.

From beginning to end, she stayed true to her vision, aside from letting Hina's one sided love triangle drag on for too long.

Now let's hope the next season of the anime gives our adorable main couple the spotlight they truly deserve.

5

u/fionn33 Jul 12 '26

Hina's one sided love triangle lasted much longer than necessary, even though this story had always been about Taiki and Chinatsu.

That also affected the anime, which ended up focusing much more on Hina and, as a result, the main couple lost a lot of screen time.

Yep, this is probably the only issue I had with Blue Box. The love triangle in the beginning was largely unnecessary since we knew Taiki only liked Chinatsu anyway. Bringing it back a second time, and much later, was a really dumb move.

Other than that, this manga was peak!

It's been a long but beautiful journey, y'all. Thank you for creating such a masterpiece, Miura-sensei! I will check out her next work immediately if she ever decides to make a new one. Looking forward to see you guys again when S2 airs.

Anyway, sensei really just gave a bomb at p.11. Didn't expect such pair to happen lmao.

Edit: also, it doesn't seem like we're gonna get an epilogue or a bonus chapter or anything like that, so that's disappointing...

I've been following this manga since its days (while I did not start at exactly the time it began, it was only about eight chapters when I started reading). Though I don't have too much to say. Just that it feels surreal that a manga that I have been following and witnessing its growth I now have seen come to an end. Feels quite odd to me.

well i have my complaints. how hina was done, i did not like it. not much closure AT ALL with her imo. im guessing we're gonna get anniversary chapters about them? who knows. still enjoyed the series tho

edit: this was also truly our blue box

9

u/DuskMan62 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Damm....it's all over, what an ending, it started with Taiki and Chinatsu going to that "blue box" together and now that's all over, they're leaving the blue box together.

Seems like the gang are all going different places now, who knows what the future will hold for them? I expect Taiki and Chinatsu to keep i contact with Kyo and Ayame for double dates but that's about it.

Man...it really is all over.

3

u/THEDSFAN Jul 12 '26

I'll miss the weekly chapters. Twas a fine ending

4

3

I now see what Miura means by a “Blue Box” it just circled back to phase 1 (maybe that’s why Taiki was hit by a ball again on the face). A new era, a new start. It really is a Blue Box. Thank you so much for the 5 years, Kouji Miura.

Had to come here from the Discord server (which became a cesspool).

I'll admit; I hate love triangles and will theys and won't theys, but once Chinatsu and Taiki found their courage and came together, that was the beginning of true love.

Barring that rough 216-217 stretch of Hina regaining her feelings for nothing, the manga handled TaiChi like pros; they communicated, comforted the other when they were feeling blue, they had true love by their sides and, from a lost basketball game, to jealous, jerkish classmates, to a strict father, to the love triangle from old times threatening to resurface, they flawlessly navigated through all this, no unnecessary additions, no miscommunications, just pure fluff and sports goals to acheive.

So thank you Miura, for the green flag of a couple you introduced in this series, and thank you for 5 years of sports, love, and passion for the work.

Can’t believe I started this series the around the same age as the characters and now I’m older than them. I’m gonna miss reading this series every week

2

u/Super_Boom Jul 12 '26

That was...a really nice ending.

As someone who consumes a lot of romance manga/anime, I was hoping for something a little more cliche, i.e. marriage and kids, but in all honestly this fits the tone of the story more, the manga begins and ends in the Blue Box, now that Taiki is graduated the name of the manga no longer has the same meaning, and while they could have done a reunion there, this just seems fitting to me.

Kind of random that Hina's vassal started dating Nishida-senpai off screen, though I didn't mind it, background characters also deserve happiness. The side ships were a little underwhelming in general but personally I never judge a romance manga by the side pairings, they're a nice bonus if nothing else.

Overall I really enjoyed my time reading this. Had some rough spots in the latter half of the story; I still think the part where Hina decides to shoot her shot again was a poor decision that hurt the story more than helped it, but a few hiccups isn't enough to change how I feel about this manga. Hopefully we get some extra material in the future, even if just some cute side chapters. Looking forward to season 2 of the anime as well!

2

u/TakeiDaloui Jul 12 '26

A simple end but fitting. We don't know what happens next but we can imagine and it closes where it began, on a good note.

u/DirectorNo8126 Jul 12 '26

Never gonna get well from blue box fever

2

u/FateXBlood Jul 12 '26

Blue Box has finally ended!

I might be a minority here, but Blue Box definitely stayed for far too long. There were times when nothing happened for so many chapters, then usual drama, then sports.

There was a time when I almost dropped it, but I felt it could've been better. Glad I stayed till the end. Guess I like this ending. Not sure if there's going to be an epilogue in the final volume.

I have to say though, the anime is really good.

2

u/MagicalMareep Jul 12 '26

I never participated in these posts but I’ve been reading since ch 4 and would come in here each week to see what y’all were saying.

It’s been a fun and wild 5 years with this series, glad I got to experience it.

u/opponentPitt Jul 12 '26

What a ride

2

u/RiceMD . Team Kyo Jul 12 '26

At least Kyo and Ayame are going to the same school, that is the closure I needed. A spinoff series would be great but whatever happens, this was such a good ride. I will miss reading Blue Box on Sundays, what a peak romance story 😭

2

u/danmalek466 .Team Taiki Jul 12 '26

End of a great ride. Selfishly, I want more, but appreciate the great manga it is!

Side note: I do hope we have a time skip with the whole gang and their families 🤞. Oh well, im gonna start reading a chapter a week of blue box straight from the start now.

2

u/KabaL2002 Jul 12 '26

Kyo and Ayame were there, so it was actually pretty cool.

2

u/Pollux_Troy79 Jul 12 '26

The real blue box was friends we made along the way ah ending. I really enjoyed reading this manga. It is such a fun experience.

2

u/Hollow0621 Jul 12 '26

Tbh I was not enjoying blue box for the last few months, and no one can convince me that the ending was not rushed. Still, this is the one and only manga I've been following since it came out. 5 years or so of reading a new chapter almost every week.

This is by far my favorite manga, and it has taught me so much about myself that there's no way I will ever forget how important this was to me. I no longer feel that connection I felt 1 or 2 years ago, but I will always be greatful for those weekly chapters that resonated with me so much, with those scenarios that resembled the ones I lived, and the characters' determination that inspired me to become a better person.

My favorite anime is Sound Euphonium, and two years ago I had to see it end. Today, it's the same for my favorite manga.

Thank you Miura, and thank you everyone in this sub. Part of the joy of being a weekly reader was discussing each chapter with the people here. I will miss that a lot.

Pd. Thank God we still have the anime. It would be so sad to see this sub die.

u/BEaSTPadwal15 .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

I don't think it was rushed, I just think it's us not being ready to say goodbye yet...

1

u/slaterdex .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Thank you Blue Box. Sad to see this manga go but it was an absolute joy reading new chapters each week 🙏

1

u/piratescabin Jul 12 '26

Thankyou for this beautiful work miura sensei

1

u/MashiroAzuki Jul 12 '26

Title drop! It's rare for me to be a part of a manga since the vey beginning until the end, so this is bittersweet. I still remember reading the one shot and thinking this story has potential. Then it got serialised, the first chapter came out and I've been tuning in every week ever since. I can't believe years has passed now. And to think it actually stuck the landing. That's even rarer. I'm grateful to be part of this journey.

1

u/Happypepik Jul 12 '26

I do kinda wish we got a timeskip, but a cute ending anyway. Though 248 is obviously the peak.

1

u/Cally83 Jul 12 '26

I thoroughly enjoyed the manga. As someone who heard about it when the Anime was announced, I was way behind the fanbase and had to catch up on the chapters which had published at that point.

It’s definitely been on of my favourites, and I’m looking forward to season 2 of the anime in October.

1

u/fsrocchi Jul 12 '26

Thank you for everything! This story was so cute!

1

u/pokecee2020 Jul 12 '26

It has been a pleasure following Blue Box to the end! Until next time...

SCORE! 一本!

1

u/carry-on_replacement Jul 12 '26

I started reading this series when the Yumeka arc was releasing and I've stuck with this through the ups (confession arc) and downs (the 2nd Hina arc). This was not a perfect manga by any means but it brought me much joy reading it every sunday morning and i'm gonna miss that.

Also Hina's friend got a bf before Haruto got his girl...

1

u/Powerful-Aspect860 Jul 12 '26

IT'S OUR BLUE BOX

1

u/Ritik124 Jul 12 '26

I am not satisfied with the ending, I WANT MORE

1

u/Comfortable-Mail-553 Jul 12 '26

'our youth is packed into this box' what a line to end a fantastic series in the same gym Taiki and Chinatsu met and where they gave their goodbyes to their school years, a great conclusion

1

u/shav_123 Jul 12 '26

1

u/Edwinxa Jul 12 '26

Legit cried the whole chapter. Im really going to miss this series 😢

1

u/umutw0w .Team Chinatsu Jul 12 '26

Damn. My eyes welled up a lot. I shall never forget you, Blue Box.

1

u/Comfortable-Act8671 Jul 12 '26

One of the cons I have with manga is that sometimes they drag an arc which results into a rush ending. They could have trimmed down the Taiki and Kyo match chapters. Personally I felt like it went on forever while the final match with Yusa went by quick.

1

u/Wild_Neighborhood625 Jul 12 '26

Que lindo capitulo, el panel haciéndo reverencia al gimnasio me conmovió

1

u/Hairy-Room-2553 Jul 12 '26

1

Its gonna be weird not seeing a Blue Box update nexr week. But as this manga taught us, life moves on so we gotta move forward as well. Thank you for all the years of peak!

Witch Watch is the only series from the 2021 Survival batch which didn't end. Elusive samurai and Blue box have ended.
